Can You 100% LEGO: Indiana Jones WITHOUT FREEPLAY?

- Freeplay is a quintessential part of any LEGO Video Game. From LEGO Star Wars to LEGO Batman, and everything in between. But, what happens when we choose to NOT use it, and only go off of what we're able to get in story mode? How far can we push it? A combination of speedrunning, creativity, and a whole lot of pain

Hope you guys enjoy! I'll be doing some LEGO: Grunt% ABL practice for legothon over on twitch in the coming days, come say hi! www.twitch.tv/bd1p
My deepest apologies, I do not have any intentions of sounding like a hater, I got kind of blasted for this last time I made a comment like this, but personally, I'm not really a fan of these kinds of challenges or challenges like speed runs or anything like that. Personally, I like to play the games as is and the way the developers intended for me to play them. Plus, I'm not skilled enough for a speed run. Personally, I just like to sit back and chill and play the game without having to worry about how fast to beat a level or exploiting the game.
But who am I to dictate what people do with their games. By all means, I'm glad you and many others enjoy this stuff. It's just not for me.
Hope you have a good rest of your day.
@@alexslusher16I get what you're saying, I actually like to play free play and the way developers want us to.
But his channels are all about challenges, and some people like this kind of content.
I really like people's commentary on these games.
And there is no need to apologize about not liking his content, there are plenty of fish in the sea.
“I don’t know if this is the intended way to do these next two kits”
*proceeds to phase through floor*
the floor is optional
@@sakura368as a mario 64 player, I've never heard a truer sentence. Aside from "this sentence is false," because last time I said it was false, so this time I'll go with true.
No you see, the INTENDED way is to go through the crawl door! (Don’t you dare r/whooosh me!)
@@1th_to_comment. don’t think about it don’t think about it don’t think about it
Lego Indiana Jones was my first lego game, it was mind blowing to me how you could go to free play and find secrets in levels, I still remember finding my first red brick
This was my 2nd ever game, the 1st being banjo and Kazooie nuts and bolts.
@@everygoodnametaken Same! I still think the nuts and bolts is super underrated. Like when I was a kid I thought its one of the most famous games. I wish I could replay it or live to see a sequel.
Mine was Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 for the ps3.
I see some people saying this was one of their early games in general which isn't the case for me. My earliest game that I can remember was either Kingdom Hearts 1 (for Ps2), Spongebob Movie Game (for og Xbox), or it was some Disney brand game for the V-Smile (if you know what that is you're obviously in your 20s like me if not a parent of someone in their 20s)
I started with Lego Batman lmao, good memories of beating it with my dad over and over again
My first Lego video game was Lego Star Wars Complete Saga... as a *physical* PC version. The PC version was apparently released years after the mostly identical home console versions (the copyright dates in-game say it was 2009, but an online source claims it took until 2010), but I'm pretty sure I picked it up in 2011. I could be mistaken, of course.
Absolutely perfect timing as I enter my Indiana Jones era
literally i am in the same era
I’m literally outside the cinema about to watch dial of destiny 😂😂
@@alf796is it good?
@@jek_14444 i’ll respond to this comment letting you know after the movie.
@@alf796 Hope you liked it, I thought it was really good but not as good as originals.
28:36 Y’know, the fact that those turrets fire actual Lego pieces and not generic bolts like every other weapon does makes me like them a tiny bit more.
I'm glad someone could find that sheet useful! I remember running this game co-op with Hotrodzod. It brings back good memories! We got the first sub 1:20 in Any% without lag strats as well. Good times. I haven't been in the Lego community for a bit now but you are the new face for this generation of potential players, and you are doing great work as well! Keep it up. LIJ1 still goated fr
Means a lot man 🙏
This video actually helped explain something for me. The last time I did my personal playthrough of this game I accidentally did a minikit duplication trick without knowing it was a thing and got eleven minikits in a level, so just for explaining it alone I'm glad I watched this video, of course the rest of the video was great as well.
I did the same lol
It's pretty dangerous I think, I've had games where my game becomes uncompleteable because part of the game might think I have enough minikits but another part might not.
i read the title as "Can You 100% LEGO: Indiana Jones WITHOUT FOREPLAY?"
😳
14:15 Welcome to the Lego Batman and Friends in Indy 1 Challenge!
I had always known for a fact that the “Fast Dig” parcel was the only parcel in the game you can collect in story mode without using any cheat codes! You unlock Han Solo as the mystery character when you find all five hidden Star Wars characters in random level locations!
This is something that I've been interested in for an extremely long time and it being done on one of my favorites is amazing!
Hope it lives up to your expectations :p
I discovered you recently and you have some of the most interesting video concepts man! You're the only channel whose long videos I can fully watch without getting bored.
i would be honoured to see this series done with lego sw or batman
Omg yes, thank you for blessing us with this, this is for everyone who has been starving for Lego TT game content
I havent played Lego Indy in years, and only 2 years ago did I see the actual films that inspired this game. Honestly with the diffrences in game and in the movie, i may have to replay it to see if Ill enjoy it just as much as I did when I was younger. This video (as well as a few others) have revived my Lego Indy memories
I would love to see a video breaking down what percentage you can get without Freeplay in both the Dev Intended Way and the Exploit Way
Pretty sure the first one in Into the Mountains can be grabbed after constructing a lever. At least it was that way in the X360 version.
yeah idk why he did allat ☠️
14:48 I think I did that skip accidentally when I was a kid playing the Wii version of this game, if not that one specifically than one like it. Because that box bouncing to the platform like that looks super, SUPER familiar.
I 100% also did that as a kid, thinking it was the intended way to do it
7:50 "I don't know if this is the intended way to do these kits" *proceeds to go Out Of Bounds and then clip through the ceiling* idk dawg maybe they didn't intend for that, might just be me
This brought back such nostalgia for me my funniest memory of this game is reading Major Toht’s name wrong and I’m sure I don’t need to connect the dots here
Lego games youtube is such a wild niche that I'm so insanely into! God, this video deserves more views, everything you've done is so impressive to me as a casual lmao
I once got 12/10 mini kits in the Mine Car Chase level
I’m glad I wasn’t the only kid who was scared shitless during the end of Raiders.
Just gotta pause RIGHT at the beginning and point out you are playing Croc 2 music at the beginning and buddy that is my childhood so thank you
Very well put together video, loved it! Here’s to hoping you can get closer to 100% as more tech is discovered :)
i havent seen the lego indiana jones games in so long; its nice to see it get some pretty cool attention like this, especially since i played the second game way too much when i was younger.
YES!!!
I WAS WAITING FOR THIS!!!
YOU MADE MY DAY!!!
i've always been curious about this type of stuff. i wasn't sure since some minikits are stuck behind triggers that require certain characters
Yesss another banger. The Lego Batman no studs video was so good that I put it in my Classics playlist
This randomly showed up on my recommendations and I like it. Nice vid.
That minikit dupe is in complete saga too, right? I got 11/10 minikits in Secret plans as a kid
It is, yeah
HOW
I can't even get 10/10
Great video, I learned a lot of new stuff on one of my favourite lego games. I love Indiana Jones he is so cool. I knew you couldn't 100% LIJ without freeplay but I wanted to see how far you could get. I always loved how many artifacts you could obtain in story mode without any phasing through walls, adding more to that by doing that is cool too. in terms of gameplay and features LB2 is better but this game and LIJ2 will always be special in my heart as I have a great burning passion towards Indiana Jones
Man I should play this game again sometime. I remember getting 100% multiple times, but I literally can't remember a single area from the video lol.
Holy that level map is nostalgic to me, especially those Red dots
I love how most of these are just grabbing the minikits through walls by lagging out the game
I remember the 4 billion studs exploit, I remember when I first came across it accidentally as a little tike. It's been so many years since then this take me back.
such a good man for content you've got a sub
I'm not gonna lie I would watch him do this with every lego game
Man this takes me back. When I was a kid we were pretty poor, (until my dad was promoted when I was in my teens) so I wasn't able to buy games. I had my trusty used PS2 and I would rent games with money I earned mowing lawns and try to beat them in 3 days. Played this one for probably 40 hours within 3 days, unlocked every single character. Fun times
For City of Danger: The minikit behind the glass can be blown up with the bazooka you get later in the level. You can open the enemy door in the first section with a hat you get later in the level.
For Pursuing the Ark: You can jump on the cliff at the beginning of that area and get around the gate. You can kill the soldiers who attack you in the plane section, steal their pistol, and complete the target minikit.
For Opening the Ark: You can get 9/10 minikits here.
For The Hunt for Sir Richard: I feel like it should be possible to clip into the room with the mopeds but I have never tried it.
For Motorcycle Escape: I never figured out how to get the boat minikit without a high jumper.
For Trouble in the Sky: I might be misremembering, but I think the blimp guards can throw grenades, so they might be able to break the glass box around the minikit.
For Temple of the Grail: I feel like one day a clip will be found to bypass the generator.
For Free the Slaves: It might be possible to bring TNT from later in the level to break open the parcel cage.
For Battle on the Bridge: I agree that you should be able to clip up the wall to reach that final minikit.
For Shanghai Showdown: My max for this level was 5 glitchless with no parcel.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but this game is still publicly available on steam for like five bucks
i love your videos, pls keep posting
I really like those Lego games , felt nostalgic.
Wished I had the Indiana Jones game, played the batman and star wars game before , it was fun.
You can still buy it btw. It's cheap ASF. I bought it for Xbox one s I think 3 years ago. I forgot how much. I'd say from 3 to 10$
Dang this was a really fun vid!
I remember playing Lego Indiana Jones and I went through the entire second level of the temple of Doom and got all the mini kits in story mode.
Just replayed this recently, and I found out that they hid the cheat code for the second parcel in the Into the Mountains intro cutscene
Croc Theme Tune hahah i bloody LOVE IT
As someone who has 100%'d Indiana Jones thrice over, I'm hoping this is possible so it can challenge me (I have only just begun this video).
3:00 you have no idea how relatable this is lmao, I’ve literally done this too many times to count ngl.
In my indie era again thank you
i just strated replaying this game with my sister this is perfect timing
This was my third Lego Game, after Lego Star Wars II and "Bionicle Heroes". I'm not entirely sure how long it took me to find certain minikits/artifacts even in Free Play mode, but I do remember that the one from "Escape the Mines"-which is a "Pankot Diamond" was the last one I completed. Of note, the "Ancient City" bonus level is unlocked by completing three of the artifacts, "Young Indy" is unlocked by completing nine of them, and "Warehouse" is unlocked when all eighteen artifacts are completed. As such, I did not fully 100% this game until April 11 of 2009, though part of why it took so long was because I was also playing the original Lego Batman at that time. Even then, that game I got really close to finishing, but never got past 99.2%. I was missing just two minikits-with one being from a "Hero level" in the second episode, and one being from a "Villain level" in the third episode.
And here I was thinking you were done pushing Lego games to their limit in new ways, yet here we are
27:32 "When I was three I would chew on the tires because they were a good sensory toy." Relatable, subscribed.
Nice gameplay ❤ big thumbs up

bd1p: You guys pose no threat, you're disarmed and I'm a motorcycle.
That one guys who pulled out his gun: Are you sure?
15:18 I remember doing that jump in my playthrough it wa a little tricky but not bad
Now beat the seco- Oh yeah.
random nirvanna the band the show reference moment is random, the funniest show I've seen honestly
7:49 "I don't know if this is the intended way"
Glitches out of bounds
this guy gets the tire chompin. a man of culture i see
I would love to see this challenge in Lego starwars, if you haven’t already
Game was my childhood on Xbox 360, I was like 3 achievements away from all of them
That Croc music earned my sub.
This was my first game ever on my Xbox 360, time has really flied
You never 100% a Lego game without free play
An absolute banger
minikit duplication? a lot of things make sense now.
15:30 I was playing the game for fun one time and I actually was able to get the mini kit there with the bomb
Praise the fish god
praise be!
This is the only Lego game i grew up with. I never even beat it NORMALLY. I'm just REALLY BAD at puzzles. Even now, i still cant beat it. I only ever beat one of the three story paths you can play. For context, I am 20. I LITERALLY HAD TO LOOK UP HOW TO BEAT ONE OF THE BOSSES.
God I need to play this game again.
I have a pointer for future videos, I would change up the music more, the song you picked from the beginning to about the transition into last crusade got me to actually skip until I heard something else. High pitched synth at low volume on a loop is grating after a while. Good job on the run tho!!
This and Rachet and clank 2 i beat 100% so many times as a kid. Oh the nostalgia
I also had the Motorcycle set. Didn't chew on the tires though.
LOVE THIS SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember years ago me and a friend were playing this on the Wii and somehow did the stud glitch. I was looking at the level select and my friend must have joined as Player 2 at the right moment as I left the menu and we noticed we had the 4 billion studs. We had no idea what caused it, or that games could have glitches so we never knew why is happened.
As far as I know, you can't even get to 100% even through Freeplay - I'm currently missing something like 3% or .3% despite having done everything.
This game was my childhood
WAIT THAT STUD GLITCH LETS YOU EXCEED THE STUD LIMIT OF 4,000,000,000!?
he actually made a video explaining this glitch:

3:51 My doctor after I ask what are those things that I feel on the lungs that hurt a bit sometimes
It would be interesting to see you try and discover some tech for the portable console releases of the games. I got Lego Star Wars 2, Lego Batman, and Lego Indy all on PSP, and it would be nice to find that movement tech that I have been missing to get that 100%, since my copies have some bugs in the level design, a few which require me to find some noclip tech.
Y’all I don’t think this game was programmed that well
23:58 "The numbers Mason, what do they mean?!"
A title like no other, the mere idea: blasphemy.
An exalted realm crafted through the bricks o' building, able to be fully conquered without use of the holy might intended by and provided by God?
To do so would mean you have bested the creator themselves, to rank above them.
A feat fit for a demon, mayhaps, or maybe, a man worth his every brick.
What the fuck
I remember once i got 11/10 minikits in the minecart level, now i got the answer i accidentaly duplicated.
This game is only a few dollars on steam for the summer sale, so get it now
I played this game so much growing up. How do I barely recognize anything from this video?
This was the first and only game so far that I have 100% in.
The issue with most if not all lego games (except Indy 1 and 2) you NEED free play Characters to get every minikit 😂
Yo I haven't seen this vid yet but I know it's going to hit hard
Christ I remember playing this and the 2nd game on my DSI
pls do this for other lego games ❤❤
With the new movie, I'm hoping we'll get a new game, and I'm hoping that it's a franchise-wide game similar to what the new Star Wars movies ended up spawning with the Skywalker Saga. I think the Indy IP deserves it, a fully fleshed out world, rather than just a handful of missions. I haven't seen the new movie so I'm not sure if Disney gave themselves a way forward with the franchise, but if there is potential for more modern entries for the IP then there's more chance for a larger game. I'm not a mega-fan of Indy but I do like the IP, it fills a niche that nothing else has really ever touched the masses in the same way, especially in scope, it's a good IP for Lego to go all-out on with another large game; Star Wars is similar, it fills a specific niche within the space genre that nobody else has really filled in the same way the original does, even modern Star Trek adaptations hasn't really filled the same specific niche. For its time, the original Lego Indy games were decently sized if not outright large, but by pre-modern (i.e. before the monstrosity that is Skywalker Saga) standards they're not all that large anymore, and by modern standards (i.e. post Skywalker Saga) a franchise-wide Indy game would be expansive enough to fully flesh out a game of modern size, not to mention it'd bring newer fans into older content and movie fans into non-movie content; which feeds back into the overall fanbase and raises potential for more Indy content from Disney, which feeds back into non-Disney licensing of the IP such as more Lego content and other games, then the model perpetuates until it reaches a point of slow growth. I'd especially be interested in modernization of models and worldbuilding, considering the Lego parts library and the talent behind alternate media within Lego's digital teams have come such a long way in the past 15 years.
