Bushcraft Fishing Rod and Spinning Reel made in the Woods

  • For this a light spoon lure that travel high in the water is ideal because this gear less reel gives the lure a slower speed in the water. It would also be ideal to carve a wobbler, bottom fishing or angle with a floater, hook, line and sinker.
    In a survival scenario this would be invaluable if you have the basics for sawing, drilling and cutting in your pack. (I I trust that hooks and some line is in every survival kit). This was try Nr one for me and still I got a fish in under 30 minutes! I already have at least 3 improvements in mind to make it more effective and easy to handle. More coming up so stay tuned folks!

    Rod/reel combo with fishing kit as an emergency setup th-cam.com/users/postUgkxntWMOZsO1Zfv-pdn_XuffEtNkTYAYu4Z recommend but started to use this every day. The rod is thick and seems durable. I keep it neatly tucked into a regular backpack all the time with my fishing gear, and can grab it anytime, put it on my back and go anywhere. I just read in another review that the rod length below the reel is adjustable as well, so I will try that too for even more portability. Probably the best setup I've ever owned. I lost the cap for the eyelets, but no big deal since I still have the black cloth sheath that came for the pole and I use that. Very portable and high quality.

      Mike_naugz88, unfortunately, in most cases silent videos will lose out to those with speech and music, imho :/
      Although, I agree that non-stop commenting and musical background are overrated. Come to think of it, the author could write subtitles for a silent video, even a couple of versions, if required (it is possible; edit: sorry, the author can create only one set of CCs in any given language, for every other version you have to choose a different one), and people watching could chose, if they want to see author's comments or not by clicking CC. However, unless the channel has a big following (like this one does), doing that is a suicide, imho. Most people hate reading and aren't likely to get it. Nobody's doing it.
      I once entertained this idea and uploaded a short silent fishing video as a proof of concept (but without comments as CC), but it was not met positively even though solo fishing that I show is a quiet hobby by definition.

    I only have one fishing rod and it's some cheap dock fishing rod my aunt got me when i was nine i like it but it's only good for little fish like bluegill or perch. I'm not wasting money on a new rod and reel so If i wanna catch something of a decent size I'll find a long stick and tie some line on it and head to the river. But you just took that to another level and made your own reel and i give you respect for that.

    I hate this kind of movies. I has nothing to do with real life situation unless you have sophisticated carpenter tools which most of people don't know even exist. Just look how primitive tools to fish are using people in real life by Amazon river. It's just line and piece of wood to wind the line in it. However I'm watching it because it's relaxing as hell! the small one I found in a parking garage of all places. Have not seen its like in stores. and the big one is the "Ray Mears Scotch Eyed Auger (Limited Promotion)" from Amazon. But I know its sold out. But just google "bushcraft auger" or Scottish auger or something like that and you will find. There is also some videos on youtube on how to convert normal auger bits from hardware stores into ones with a homemade adapter so you can find a stick or something to use in the woods through an eye.

    • @TheScoundrel70
      @TheScoundrel70 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ninja Dad , the small one is called a "gimlet" (in English) if you are trying to source them. They have a self feeding screw tip like an auger does and work sort of like a reamer in wood to make the hole rather than the way spiral drill bits cut from the tip. They make much nicer holes than drill bits do when turning by hand. You can find them in traditional woodworking stores such as Lee Valley tools in Canada and I'm sure many other suppliers.

If he had bought the tools awhile back and had already paid for them making other stuff again yes he saved money by going out and making a rod himself instead of being lazy and spending extra money on some anyone can make if we just stop being lazy and put our minds to use like the good Lord intended us to
