In this video, we take my brand new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 for an exhilarating ride on the ABR Festival's TFR off-road track. This course is designed to push adventure bikes to their limits, and I’m excited to see how the Himalayan 450 handles the challenge.
As we navigate the rugged terrain, the Himalayan 450 impresses with its agility and power, effortlessly tackling rocky paths and steep inclines. The bike's suspension and handling are put to the test, and it’s clear that Royal Enfield has built a machine capable of conquering the toughest trails.
Our journey takes a dramatic turn as we approach the infamous Bog of Doom, a notorious section of the track known for swallowing even the most robust adventure bikes. We witness the spectacle of larger bikes getting stuck in the thick, muddy bog, with riders and rescuers working together to pull them out. It’s a true test of skill, teamwork, and the capabilities of these machines.
With determination and careful maneuvering, we guide the Himalayan 450 through the treacherous bog. The bike’s performance is outstanding, showcasing its resilience and reliability in extreme conditions. The Bog of Doom proves to be a formidable adversary, but the Himalayan 450 emerges victorious, solidifying its reputation as a versatile and powerful adventure bike.

You've done a brilliant job with both the ABR vids. It was amazing seeing the GS and KTM totally and utterly bogged. Your bike looked way more manageable on the trails.

It really is! David, certainly for this type of terrain. A bigger adventure big wouldn’t make me a better or faster rider, this one is nice and easy to manage.

The TRF trail is a little bumpy but you’ll be fine on the other trail (video coming shortly) it’s the best weekend of the year for me. Super fun 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨

I was toying with the idea of taking my 1200 multi enduro on here, I wish I did now 🤦🏻♂️
The multi would be perfect on the Bridgestone trail, but it would be more technical on the TRf trail.

Yes, you are right. You need to have 50/50 tyres to get in the Trf course but I’m glad I changed them for this event

Simon, Simon, you could have at least tried the the side track on the bog of doom, think of the confidence boost it would have given you if you‘d pulled it off, mind you I think you really need knobblies once you get into hard core stuff like that, still the challenge, now you’ll never know.
Il be honest I didn’t see that until I went around the other side otherwise I would of done. Definitely next year though. 👍🏍️💨💨💨💨💨
That towing looks pretty hard for bikes tree clamps and front forks ?
The bikes can handle it, I guess there not many options
@@thatbikersimon There are literally no other options. We (I was marshalling in the "bog") and last year, without the quad, getting the big bikes out was back breaking (we are volunteers). This year the quad helped hugely - that was the UK TRF Chairman you chatted to on the Quad :-) - and it's his own quad. I did however notice a fair few more people taking on the bog this solely because they knew they'd get pulled out..... :-)
@@dodgey99 i had no idea how deep that bog was, and if I’d not of seen the bike stuck I might have given it ago but like you said il wait for the quad to be there and take some spare boots 😂👍
Must be embarrassing for the big bike owners when their bikes stuck in deep mud while cheaper Enduros and other Advs pass by.
I personally wouldn’t take a 1250GS though that deep mud but I would like to give it a try. They were having fun for sure 👍 🏍️💨💨💨💨
