The up/down not working is because the pad to the signal line (middle pin of the 3 pin green potentiometer) got broken from the trace on one of the 2 potentiometers. It looks like the trace is on the top side of the series controllers which is inconvenient but it can be fixed with another trace repair so you can still save the controller. If you move the analog shaft up and down then look at the middle part inside the 2 green sensors to see which one is rotating while you move up/down will show you which one needs the trace repair attached to the middle pin.
