wow, ive never seen interviews so in depth, great channel man. Sam Jackson is the man. I can feel some really candid moments and banter with the actors, thats awesome
Just watched both of his interviews here back to back. it’s crazy how much more he opened up from the beginning of the django interview to the end of this one. He seems like a really genuine dude
Kudos to the interviewer. The interviewee was smart, quick witted, straight forward, one who loves his craft and the project in it's entirety. Very interesting artist who's easy to follow.
Loved Samuel Jackson since "Juice" and "Goodfellas." He had minor roles in both films but his characters are very memorable. Jackie Brown is one of my favorite films, also.
+Andreas Nordvall That's why he wanted a purple lightsaber, so he could pick himself out in the "dense" crowded shots of the big arena fight and stuff like that, lol. Him asking Lucas for that is the only reason we have more colors for lightsabers than just blue, green, and red. That was the start of having anything different, that day on set.
Sam was so much more open in this interview. For the Django Unchained interview he was so skeptical at first and closed off. Nice to see him a lot more open here 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
I agree with the comment about Sam and Gene Hackman . I'd never seen or heard of him until I saw Pulp Fiction and found his presence very commanding . When he said to one of the guys who had the briefcase near the beginning of the movie " Oh , I'm sorry ,did I break your concentration " . I found that while he didn't say it loudly or angrily, it came across as totally menacing and it made me think you wouldn't want to mess with this guy .
+ashkuigp But like any other human being would do with a stranger they have to talk to. It takes time to get open. This is what's I like about this interviewer, whether you like his interviews or not, they are "human" and he gives the opportunity to the interviewees to go (or not) with the flow if they enjoy the conversation.
+Volodia Arnaud the first interview with him it starts with 'this will be just like a conversation' and Sam says 'yeah, right.' At the end he says 'Hey, that was like a conversation!' Good example of what these guys usually have to put up with all day on a press tour compared to DP/30.
+Dayle Clarke Yeah, that was the Django Unchained interview right? That's how I found this channel. Great interviewer. I like how he's very relaxed and conversational about it with his guests.
Superb interview. Sam has a great vocabulary and is an intellectual presence - Just like me - but with that black flava. Sam, keep doing what you do despite being financially independent for decades
every time I watched a SLJ interview i have double respect for him. he is much more intelligent, cool, & bad ass than the characters he plays in movies. from 29:00 , so true. those idiots who criticize him for yrs about obama, bernardino, chump . they judge him by 1 sentence, make memes and share them around.
Sam you been in everything I think as an actor he’s been in the most movies out of the a list actors they should do some stats but I bet he’s played the most characters
My tarintino order 1.pulp fiction 2. Inglorious bastards 3. Kill bill 4. The hateful eight 5. Resivor dogs 6. Django unchained 7. Jackie brown 8. Death proof Love all his movies tho just makes I list for fun
I really wish he'd have kept asking him questions on directorial decisions. Louder, softer, faster, slower seems like a fantastic philosophy that I haven't considered yet. Of course the directors/casters hire you for a reason. I never, ever looked at it this way and it sorta blew my mind, it's so simple!
The number of people who don't realize that SLJ is a true actor, a craftsman and an artist that thinks about his shit.. That Sam Jackson presence and strength isn't just innate... he thinks and constructs his performances.... he is a true great...
18:52 Gee, I wonder what moment he's referring to. The film was entertaining but moments like that prove it was too much of a convoluted mess. It was setup as a murder mystery but completely failed in that regard.
Try to slow down on your questions and your talking, man. I've been there, I have the same speaking habits, I talk too fast, but you'll never notice because YOU'RE the one talking. I'm not trying to make fun of you, it just sounds better on the audience's end. I mean just compare Samuel's talking speed to yours.
Mace should have his in solo adventure, taking place after his fall. I wouldn’t mind him dying in it. Like a survival movie. But show how BAD of a mf he was!
+Craig Hicks It needed a stronger editor to cut out the shit where Tarantino's ego runs wild. Most noticeably his voice over, which isn't needed whatsoever.
I wonder how much they paid this guy to do those stupid corny dumb capitol one bank commercials ? He is a great actor yet those commercial tarnish his image, QT lost respect for Matrix due to the stupid sequels. His body of work means a lot to him. This guy has a great body of work then does capitol one commercials and saturate the market with them. Wonder what the sell out amount was?
Major fan of S.L.J. and most Tarantino films, but I really disliked 'Hateful 8'. Walked out of the theatre 1/2 way through. Did eventually watch it on DVD.
Samuel L Jackson is the kind of person that will probably never direct a film, but would be fantastic at it.
+Sean Wilcock he already has the hat
I would love to see Sam Jackson direct a movie!
That ending was priceless.

I've found that with most of the DP/30 interviews. People seem a bit uncertain in the first one then by the second are super chill.
watched Hateful Eight last night! I loved it!
Kudos to the interviewer. The interviewee was smart, quick witted, straight forward, one who loves his craft and the project in it's entirety. Very interesting artist who's easy to follow.
Sam is the man! He's as entertaining in movies as in interviews. Great interviewer also. Thank you for this Sam and DP/30
one of the coolest actor in the business.
30:53 such a tease
Loved Samuel Jackson since "Juice" and "Goodfellas." He had minor roles in both films but his characters are very memorable. Jackie Brown is one of my favorite films, also.
Great guy and great actor.
Some fantastic interviews the last few months, DP. Many big names too.
One of the finest actors of our time
“How you like that? Ya bushwhackin’ sack shoota.”
Oh, man. I'm going, that's all there is to it. I'm f***ing going.
bryapro hey have you seen it since you made this comment, and if so what did you think
Yeah man I knew you'd dig it the most.
I love that guy who asks questions! #nohomo #maybealittlebit
Devin Negrete He asks good and entertaining questions and has a high level of profesionalism.
I love how Samuel came back to be interviewed by you! He obviously enjoyed himself.
Oh I just watched Sam L's interview for Django and loved it. I know this one will be great, I'm excited lol
I love this guy and gene Hackman...
I’m late but I just watched hateful 8 for the first time. Samuel Jackson is ALWAYS amazing
I really do love and respect this man. Great interview.
Great Interview!!! I Love The Questions You Asked Samuel L. Jackson... Great Stuff, Keep Up The Good Work!!!!!!!!!!
How this magnificent Channel doesn't have a million+ subs is a mystery to me. Any young actor/director should use DP/30 as a reference point.
This man is truly a national treasure.
Half an hour, no edits, and so good.
And I knew Sam Jackson is smart, but I didn’t know he was THAT smart. It’s not just what he says but how he looks. Watch his eyes.
4:35 - "Are the bluescreen movies more disconnected or does it depend on the director? I mean, there's so much going on..."
It's so dense...
+Andreas Nordvall I may have gone too far in a few places.
+Andreas Nordvall PALPATINE'S BEHIND IT ALL.
+Andreas Nordvall UNLIMITED POWAH!!!
Samual L Jackson is a funnier character then we had before..
He's brilliant. Easily one of the best actors around!
Sam was so much more open in this interview. For the Django Unchained interview he was so skeptical at first and closed off. Nice to see him a lot more open here 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

Sam Jackson is the chillest dude on Earth (except when he's not)!
awesome to see him so open, not always the Sam Jackson way with interviews
+DJ Bisogno Hehe, if you watch some old dp30 with SLJ, you will see that it took some time to lure out this open attitude and relaxedness.
+ashkuigp But like any other human being would do with a stranger they have to talk to. It takes time to get open. This is such a great interview
Gotta love Sam L. Jackson
big black johnson.... lol
another great interview!
It's gratifying to now know exactly why I've always thought that Sam was a really, really, really good actor.
Legend. I bake and he’s one of those people I just wanna make a cake for. ❤️
I just can't imagine how that scene was made or how Samuel or that actor did it ( i mean the dengus scene )
great interview
thanks!
Superb interview. Sam has a great vocabulary and is an intellectual presence - Just like me - but with that black flava. Sam, keep doing what you do despite being financially independent for decades
Sam Jackson is a legend. Cool, down to earth guy.
Learned so much from watching this
My #1 favorite actor :-)
every time I watched a SLJ interview i have double respect for him. he is much more intelligent, cool, & bad ass than the characters he plays in movies. from 29:00 , so true. those idiots who criticize him for yrs about obama, bernardino, chump . they judge him by 1 sentence, make memes and share them around.
Deserves an Oscar !!!
The things that Tarantino does while shooting are the same of Sergio Leone.
Sam you been in everything I think as an actor he’s been in the most movies out of the a list actors they should do some stats but I bet he’s played the most characters
That's a true ranking.
My tarintino order
1.pulp fiction
2. Inglorious bastards
3. Kill bill
4. The hateful eight
5. Resivor dogs
6. Django unchained
7. Jackie brown
8. Death proof
Love all his movies tho just makes I list for fun
moviepsycho101 ur spelling is truly masterful
Almost spot on but I would put Jackie Brown wayyyyy higher.
"Do they speak English in 'What'?" "I dare you: I double dare you!"
23:58 Camera man slipped and hit the zoom button.
I love you, Tarantino.
lmao at the ending
David has such a crush on Sam Jackson ;-; I ship it
+Natalie Gray "your skin looks beautiful throughout this movie"
Who doesnt. :)
I really wish this video would have extended to get the answer to Sams' question @ 30:53
Samuel L. is a great listener.
So were all the lightsaber jokes deleted? Cause I find it hard to believe no one took that bait.
The number of people who don't realize that SLJ is a true actor, a craftsman and an artist that thinks about his shit.. That Sam Jackson presence and strength isn't just innate... he thinks and constructs his performances.... he is a true great...
Also he seems cool chill as hell
Samuel l Jackson is awesome 💜
Love you Samuel L Jackson 😍👍
Legend of American Cinema.
The fact that he didnt receive an oscar nomination for Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown or this is pretty shitty.
24:34
Remember his role in kingsman...valentine
Kids and their toys right? We are working here people! Don't get me started on leaving your drink by paperwork!!! FUCK!
Samuel Jackson has a tremendous body of work but the bible soliloquy, Ezekiel 25:17, in Pulo Fiction, is still his best scene.
National Treasure
18:52 Gee, I wonder what moment he's referring to.
The film was entertaining but moments like that prove it was too much of a convoluted mess. It was setup as a murder mystery but completely failed in that regard.
That's a Franck muller watch mister Samuel Jackson is wearing kids !!! Great taste !!
Сем Джексон клевый
«george lucas told me do what you want and we can make it look interesting or we can make it look boring» I guess he went with the latest then
Can you see the pictures now Black guys dangus and sons mouth me laughing hahahaha whooaaa
HEY DISNEY TAKE THE SCRIPT TO A FEW DOLLARS MORE Bobba Fett vs Mace Windu the story writes itself.
@1:02 Ok, we get it, you can do a lot of other shit when it's a phone-free set, don't talk past the sale.
Better to direct than spend your life on a golf course.
Unless you're Tiger.
Try to slow down on your questions and your talking, man. I've been there, I have the same speaking habits, I talk too fast, but you'll never notice because YOU'RE the one talking. I'm not trying to make fun of you, it just sounds better on the audience's end. I mean just compare Samuel's talking speed to yours.
maybe there is time restrictions and he needs to keep that in mind all the time
I don't know
it didn't bother me but I see your point
Квентин мощь кинобогатырь США
Ah man this movie and the revenant are the two best movies of the year. Star Wars fucking sucked.
silly questions
Mace should have his in solo adventure, taking place after his fall. I wouldn’t mind him dying in it. Like a survival movie. But show how BAD of a mf he was!
lol five and a half million followers. no big deal.
This interview is 100 times better than the film itself which is certainly Tarantino's poorest film to date.
+Craig Hicks YOUR fucking TRIPPING! This film is by far the best film he,s EVER made.
I may be tripping. But it's still 45 mins too long with the the thinnest story possible.
+Craig Hicks It needed a stronger editor to cut out the shit where Tarantino's ego runs wild. Most noticeably his voice over, which isn't needed whatsoever.
Totally disagree I thought it was better than Django and I loved Django
I will say I thought it should have been like 15-20 min shorter but still amazing the second half is amazing
I wonder how much they paid this guy to do those stupid corny dumb capitol one bank commercials ? He is a great actor yet those commercial tarnish his image, QT lost respect for Matrix due to the stupid sequels. His body of work means a lot to him.
