I think the earliest hint of bad luck would be in volume 3 chapter 2 where at the bar qrow was at the guy cleaning the cup ends up breaking one and he's like "ahh gee darn it"

Geoffrey Hastings That might be true, there is definitely something behind Yang. Not sure its a moon but, who knows? But Calvin mistakes different angles of the broken moon for multiple moons.
Pretty sure one of those was just a spotlight from the club.
The crew (it may have even been Monty) said very early on that there's only one moon. The other thing in the Yellow trailer was a light.
[b]Non-Spoilers for the Crew:[/b] The first time we meet Qrow, the bartender dropped a glass.
When Winter attacks, every blow missed, even the slash that hit Qrow's blade before he even drew it. Judging by her expression, Winter was shocked. The fight ended when Qrow beckoned Winter closer; she obliged, and got busted by Ironwood. Then Ironwood kept his distance. When Ruby greeted Qrow after the fight, she fell flat on her butt instead of landing on her feet; quite strange when you consider her abilities.
Every meeting he attends, he keeps his distance. The exception is when Ironwood goes to retrieve his phone, which becomes infected with Cinder's virus. You could argue that this was bound to happen, but it leads to a lot of misfortune later with Penny.
It can be argued that Qrow returning to Beacon was bad luck to Cinder, Mercury and Emerald. He was the one person who could recognize them as Ambers attackers.
When Qrow plays Ruby and Yang on the fighting game, he wins every round, despite hardly paying attention.
The only other one I can recall is the waitress at the bar in Volume 4 that got close to him, then dropped her tray after Raven left.

Also, when Weiss first meets Winter at the tournament, Winter chastises her for "missing 3 blows" in her fight, implying that Winter never misses. Then she misses every blow against Qrow.
Also, when Tyrian finds the waitress that Qrow had interacted with, and likely kills/tortures her. That could be called some real bad luck too
Also, lyrics from the song playing in the background of the Tyrian and Qrow fight: "I'm a cursed black cat, I'm an albatross, I'm a mirror broken. Save yourself, I'm your bad luck charm"

the song is literally called "bad luck charm". in other words, the only more blatant character songs are the trailer ones and probably "armed and ready", simply because with that pun, you KNOW who it's for.

Laying it on a little thick, but Miles and Kerry don't do squat with it from what I've heard. Because they're good at writing comedy, not drama.
The running theory is that Ghira (Blake's dad) is a panther Faunus like Bagheera from the Jungle Book and that Sienna Khan (the new leader of the White Fang) is a tiger Faunus like Shere Khan.

If you look back on older episodes there is almost always something bad that happens for the people around him when Qrow is in a scene for long enough [also a lot of open windows whenever he seemed to just "appear" anywhere, some good foreshadowing that he can turn into a crow]:
-Bartender dropped a glass just after Qrow left
-Ironwood happened to be strolling through the courtyard in time to see Winter causing a scene, thus getting her in trouble.
-Ironwood linked his scroll into the system to display his ships' battle formation for Qrow and it got infected with the virus, which allowed Cinder to find out that Penny was an android.
-Ruby and Yang ALWAYS losing when playing video games against him
-Ironwood managed to get distracted [which is not like him] and nearly got killed by a griffon [which Qrow managed to slice in half just in time, i feel like he is used to these things happening and constantly vigilant in order to try and prevent them].
-the tavern waitress seeing Raven and getting a fright and dropping a glass. and, considering how freaked out she was, it also probably means she didn't end up hooking up with Qrow that night despite her obvious interest earlier, or if she did anyway, it would explain the next one:
-that same waitress running into Tyrian shortly after Qrow left
-Ruby constantly missing the shot when aiming for Tyrian even when he stopped moving
-Tyrian getting stunned by Qrow punching him and his pride being damaged enough that it took him a moment to recover, allowing Qrow to regain the advantage in the fight
-Tyrian landing on the one broken beam and falling into the house
-The loose beam nearly falling on Ruby
-Tyrian getting distracted and getting his tail cut off by Ruby
-Log falling out of the campfire

And tyrian is near blind because scorpions have horrid eyesight, he couldnt fight back until he heard Qrow grab his scythe
1. Ozpin is most likely the Wizard from the tale of the Four Maidens.
2. The relics are objects. Salem even said the Relic was still likely at Beacon. Raven asked Qrow if Raven had _it_ when referring to the Relic.
They've set up Qrow's semblance for a while now. During his first appearance in the 'Crow Bar' in season 3, the bartender dropped a glass as Qrow was leaving. Similar to the log falling out as he leaves in this episode.

Yeah the very first scene with Qrow is he drinking in a bar, and we already see his semblance when the bartender drops and breaks a cup.
Actually you guys should react to the RWBY Soundtracks (preferably with lyrics available). Because those are also canon and tell pretty cool things about characters or foreshadow future elements.

I think Aaron is right. Qrow's Semblence doesn't directly effect him, however he's probably always on the lookout over his allies. So in that way it effects his ability to fight in group combat.
Fun Fact: The voice actor for Qrow is the same for Edward Elric in FMA:B

When you hear Vic talk normally, it's nothing like Qrow at all. Qrow is much lower than his natural voice.
The maidens have nothing to do with the relics, the relics r as old as time itself. The maidens came later when humanity developed.

I have the same reaction as Aaron when Sun's name is said. I always think of it like What SON? What are you doing SON? You know nothing Son?! I can't stop it even when the characters are actually being serious
The first time we were introduced to Qrow he was drinking in a random bar. The second he left the bartender dropped a glass. At the time it was kinda a "meh ok" moment but looking back now that we know what his semblance that scene makes more sense. So they had his semblance planned out well before this season.
i feel there is something about jaune qrow know or doesn't want o see in him he specifically looks at him for most of the talk and understands how he feels alot from what i saw, after all he did say he was in his shoes at once when oz told him everything
It's also likely that Qrow knows that Jaune is coping with Pyhrra's death the worst. Since he's been tracking them, he probably knows of Jaune's late night training with the recordings - whether Qrow went through a similar loss of a loved one (read into fan theories about Summer Rose if you want to) or not, he at least gets that of the four kids, Jaune is struggling the most with his mourning. It's also worth noting Oz saw great leadership in Jaune, and since he saw through Qrow's plan to use Ruby as bait, it's likely Qrow sees him as the real brains of this team.
Stead Fast agreed I love how this arc really makes him seem like a leader and thinks about his team and team aiming members and on the summer theory I like the part of qrow possibly liking summer and possibly being her partner and he was a cause of her death but all the other stuff like him probably being Ruby's dad are iffy, I see him as a possible new mentor to jaune I like their dynamic, I would love to go into more detail but I don't wanna bore u
There was a few moments where they've shown Qrow's bad luck in Volume 3. The bar tender in Crowbar dropped the glass when Qrow left the bar. During the end of the fight with Winter when Ironwood showed up. During the fall of Beacon, after the plane crash, the scene when Ironwood saved Cardin and a griffin attacks Ironwood from behind and Qrow saved him. On volume 4, during the fight with Tyrian when Ren and Nora was about to back Qrow up, Tyrian noticed them and repelled their attacks, when Ruby tried to snipe Tyrian from the roof of a building, she missed the first shot and Tyrian blocked the rest with his tail. And like you guys said, during the end of that episode, the piece of wood that ends up falling down on Ruby. And finally, after Qrow got stung by Tyrian's tail then Ruby counters with her scythe and cuts off the tip of Tyrian's tail, those are most of the "bad luck" scenes that I've noticed.
If you look carefully at Qrow's avian form you can see that he has white eyes, but the bird that follows him around has red eyes so I'm pretty sure that bird is either Raven herself, or some agent of her's.
Salem cant be on the moon. How would Tyrion, Watts, and Hazel have travelled to Mistral so fast if they were? World of Remnants show that spaceflight impossible via dust. There's only one moon. Salem is more likely based on the continent in the top left, which is uninhabited.

You guys should DEFINITELY react to the RWBY soundtracks (With Lyrics). They give a lot more details on character backgrounds as well as foreshadowing.

-and no Calvin there are no two moons and Salem is not on the moon, (btw it's still a mystery what happened to the moon) the location of Salem's evil HQ is possible to be on that island that looks like a dragon at west of Atlas.
Another example of crows bad luck. When you first meet him, he's in a bar. When he leaves the bar, the bar tender breaks the glass he just finished cleaning. He also makes reference to luck when following team RNJR to the town where talks with Raven. Once after clearing the grimm out, and once again when the waitress gives him "top shelf, lucky you".
Also, side not. The guy who voices Broly in the Dragon Ball Z, also voices Crow.
In the first season when there landing in the emerald forest I believe that bird that ruby hit and said “birdie no” was Crows first bad luck scene
Ozpin does not necessarily have to be the good guy of this show. We know absolutely nothing about him yet. You guys should definitely listen to "Divide" from Volume 3, that will give you some vague ideas.
If you apply the song "Sacrifice" from Volume 2 as Raven addressing Ozpin, that also lends support to Ozpin not necessarily being a good guy. V1C10... Ozpin said "Ruby, i've made more mistakes than any man, woman, and child on this planet."
Joe Null I feel like that is referring to Ozpin "living for very long" since you know, the longer you live the more time you have to make mistakes.(and Oz makes very hard choices)
But I do think Ozpin has made a lot of controversial/straight up bad choices. I feel like he put Summer on a suicide mission.
The way I see it so far? Ozpin and Salem are playing chess with the world. The mortals are just the pieces, but these two, the wizard and the witch, are the players. And the latest round of their game is just getting started...
I definitely think there is no "good guy" anyway. I mean, I'm sure Rooster Teeth wants to bring a bit grey-area elements in the show. You can't save the world without making mistakes and sacrifices.

Also very interesting when you look at the Yin/Yang symbolism when looking at the brothers. The "god of light" was dark with light in his heart and the brother was the other way around. Very eastern philosophy.

Should they do RvB after this season? I think they should, but I know that would be a logistical nightmare!
Doing RvB would need to be done like 5 episodes at a time just to be able to get to the story centered season 6 before they grow bored of the constant comedy hijinks.
I know there is a lot of great moments in The Blood Gulch Chronicles, but it wouldn't be the worst idea for them to watch that on their own and then do 6 where the true story begins. Course as the story continues more and more stories are being made around things that were developed in the BGC.

Blake's father's name is Gira as in Bagira from the Jungle Book. Keep in mind that the new leader's name is Seeana Khan as in Sheer Khan.

Hey man, just to answer the question posed about the forethought put into Qrow's semblance, check out his very first scene in the bar (Volume 3 Episode 2). The bartender broke a pint glass mmediately as Qrow began to leave.

don't know if you guys noticed but Qrow said "some people can absorb electricity and some people can burst into rose petals" I wonder who can "burst into rose petals" ...cough...Ruby...cough...
My best guess about what Ruby's powers are is that people born with silver eyes are imbued with some sort of holy magic (think like an RPG Paladin or w/e, I guess). In the Volume 3 finale, Qrow said that the Grimm fear the silver-eyed warriors, which made me think of those "Turn Undead" type spells (destroys or scares the shit out of undead). Ruby's power works the same way, except obviously on Grimm instead of undead. But, kinda like a Super Saiyan, this power is locked away until this silver-eyed individual is pushed to their limit, physical, emotional, or otherwise.

His name is Gera, strong but kind and with peaceful ways, ex-leader of the White Fang, of course he is a Faunus.
(not all are obviously identifiable, remember the book-store guys 1st episode of season 2 ?).
The one who replaced him is named Khan, his way are more aggressive, forcing human into respect Faunus by fear.
His wife name is Kali (like the indo goddess).
Both his wife and his daughter are (dark hair) feline Faunus.
Sounds like some characters from book about the jungle to me...

25:48 the fact that Ironwood was being ambushed was bad luck. He should've noticed and taken out the Grimm. And not "taken out" in the sexy first date kinda way, but "taken out" in the painful trip to the emergency room or maybe the morgue kinda way.

It doesn't come right out and say it, but it answers many many questions about the setting and story, and even some character detail.
What if each brother snuck behind the other's back one last time before they left to give life or destruction an edge? The god of darkness made salem, and the god of light made the silver eyed warriors? As for the maidens, maybe the old man who gave the maidens their powers was some kind of demigod?
Also, I think Qrow's bad luck aura causes what ever can go wrong to go wrong (i.e., in a perfectly new bomb shelter, the building won't suddenly collapse, but an old abandoned house would; also, if you're running on a dry side walk you won't slip, but on grass with the slightest bit of dew...)

He didn't tell them he was there because it was their mission. If he'd been with them, it would've been just another school assignment with a teacher supervising. He wanted to see how they'd get by on their own, without actually leaving them alone.

Really enjoyed the creation story in this, but it does make me question; what about the fanus? Are they a creation of the light god, or maybe something man made back when they had magic? I'm sure we'll find out at some point, but I'd still like to know sooner over later.

This didn't occur to me when this episode of RWBY first went up but is Qrow's bad luck semblance the reason that he almost never uses his weapon in scythe mode? Ozpin called it one of the most dangerous weapons created in episode one. Did he decide that scythe + bad luck is too dangerous?
