Nice to see others doing this. My dad has been doing this on Maui for awhile. That machine can handle big jobs. The only thing is they spray with green mud here.

That 629 is probably putting more out than you need. Get your wide skimming knives out and get someone coming behind you sluckung it off. It will save you time on the sanding
Nice my only thoughts with this good method is that another step is needed to sand maybe minor touch up ⬆️. I found what works for me is level 4 finish then spray a high build primer with 619 hea tip and back roll with 18inch 3/8 nap. But we are not doing big jobs like you guys are it works for us on are little jobs
Use a columbia Tomahawk blade set to wipe behind you're sprayer with 3' 4' & 5' blades. Designed for this application, game changers. You probably already have a set though.
I hear that Kilz is not a friendly material to paint sprayers. Do use Kilz primer and if so what do you apply it with, what's your method? Great work!🤙
Thanks brother I spayed mud were not going to use this rig for anything but joint compound. It's the alternative to hand wiping the skim coat for level 5 see how it turns out..
what do u think about the mark 4/5 for texture? the graco video looked terrible and patchy but it's hard to see and of course the rep spraying isnt in the feild like us .... let me know bro and what texture sprayer model u would buy again! Im desperately needing to upgrade from my rtx1000 and i can't decide!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think you do work as good as mine and I value your opinion!
I reply to the comment on the other video.... I would recommend using the Mark 5 for texture you need to haul around a separate air source.(compresor) to much stuff to carry.
Your are learning my brother. You will throw your knives away when you realize what u can do with that sprayer. You still need knives but your getting ready to make some money. I finish all my jobs with my sprayer.
That long exstention is not helping you, its hurting you. Just go to a 12 inch and use a ladder. Instead of going vertical go horizontal. Use a ladder as you go higher.

You should use USG Gypsum tuff hide it’s faster and it’s less sanding than normal compound! Nice work memo.

Was the clean-out easy on the Mark IV?
Pretty quick just got the purge the pump with water then add pump armor. The rig stays fairly clean since the hose is so long.
Have you thought of following that up with a surfacer that levels out?
Going to see how it sands great suggestion.

The 5 has more power and can pump high volumes of hard material.

IDK It's the one it came with already just picked up some new ones to try out.
619 will work but 525 has been the best ive found. Anything smaller wont work.

Some times we started wiping off the final coat but the first one doesn't get wiped or sanded.
