    Great first on the new engine, seems to have lots of power. With all the RTF planes people have now you are quite unique in the home builds.

    Good mod Mark,very good. I usually poke vent pipe through the coil spring of the nose leg. I tend to use bigger bore pipe pushed up onto vent nipple hexagon and clip it so it doesn't slip.

    Great video. Very enjoyable. I have this very same plane and it's a great flyer. I've got an OS 55ax on it. The Saito 56 is a brilliant engine, I don't have one, but I do have three Saito 62 engines which are very similar. Overall I prefer a fourstroke engine everytime. Great sound. Thanks for sharing.

    I have a Saito 62 that fits straight into the engine mount on my new calmato sports 40, but I also have a brand new Saito 72 which would give me more power but it would mean having to drill new holes in the mount that comes with the plane as it is a different bolt pattern on the 72. If I go with the 72 Saito and drill more holes in the mount, would this significantly weaken the mount? I would be glad to hear your opinion?. Kind regards.

    • @MarkRobinson555
      @MarkRobinson555  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, drilling the holes will weaken the mount, I would think the 62 would be a good match for the Calmato, I would do that first and see how you like it, after all it does fly nice with the 56, but then you can change to the 72 if you want more - hope it goes well

      @@MarkRobinson555 Many thanks. Have Saito 62 bolted in and ready for maiden flight as soon as the weather improves.

    Just bought one of these second hand. To my surprise, it does not have a steerable nose wheel. Is it easy to convert to steerable?

    • @MarkRobinson555
      @MarkRobinson555  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am surprised it doesn't, it should do, maybe its a really old model or the original bits are not present. Should be easy to convert/add, 🤞
