The Five Most Important Things to Know about the The Synoptic Problem

Dr. Elder presents his five most important things to know about the Synoptic Problem.
#5: The Synoptic Gospels are Matthew, Mark, and Luke. They are called the Synoptic Gospels because they can be “seen together.”
#4: Polyvocality is not a problem.
#3: Mark almost assuredly was the first gospel to be written. We call this Markan Priority.
#2: There are two main solutions to the Synoptic Problem: the Two-Source Theory and the Farrer Theory.
#1: Color-coding is a productive method for reading the Synoptic Gospels alongside one another.
