Have a 98 5spd with 180k. Top don't work but I've replaced the heater core, ignition coil, rear brakes& cylinders, filter, etc. Only one heated seat works but I LOVE this car
Funny to see that they are that rare in north america. Here in Germany you will find many of these. I own a Golf MK 3 Cabrio too. I have the light grey leather seats and panels power roof power lock power windows heated mirrors power mirrors heatet seats cruise control and multifunction buttons on the right steering column lever and AC (still have to finish the conversion from normal heating to AC) roof in new condition and an engine that was not exportet to the US. 1800cc single point injection 75hp with 250´000km. Just search for motor code AAM. As far as i can tell this engine is a real cruiser compared to the other multipoint incection types that are exported. It's an ultra smooth but (compared) high torque at low RPM engine. You can easily drive 50kmh (30mph) in 5th gear at 1350rpm with still some torque reserves left.
nikolai todorov dont know if you'll look back on this, but you undo the handles on the drivers and passengers side, which disguise nicely as the handles that would already be there be it a hard top. And then you pull the parking brake and there is a button on the dash. Atleast with my automatic, maybe different on the manual but I doubt it.
I have a 1999 cabrio with 100,000 mile's on it as we speak I am putting a transmission in it I found out that cabrio are known for going out it had a another one go out at 53000 miles if this next one goes out I'm junking this car.!!!
My '99 needed a tranny, then a clutch; Now a clutch plate. I have about $5,000 into it, Parting it out. Too many new parts on it to junk. Loved this car...
THE FLEX HOUSE there is a 99 automatic for sale with 42k. Curious if the automatic is troublesome? I would prefer a stick, but if nice enough and not prone to issues at decent price? Might consider. Is it a bad idea?
Its 142k. Carfax says probability of Odometer tampering. It runs great. But waaaaaaaaaay over priced. No Records. I am mostly seeing automatics. I am not 100% swayed from them, but curious if they are a bad deal? I never buy automatic cars.
I own a 2000 Vw Cabrio with currently 33,000 original miles. Beautiful green color.
