Lowkey a serious question but like where did you find that english teaching job? It seems like your teaching job has a lot of freedom in terms of how and what you teach and is super intriguing versus the traditional english teaching jobs I've done whilst out in Seoul ...! If I could land a gig with your type of freedom I would 100% go back.
I had my resume uploaded on a job site and they actually reached out to me first! I gave my interviewees a sample lesson and they liked it. I actually do extensive class prep and teach a lot of content but I decided to only include the more "fun" parts for the sake of the video - the serious teaching parts are less entertaining :) i also think its the nature of the type of class im teaching! There would definitely be less freedom if i were to be teaching an exam prep class.
What a fantastic teacher you are. Somehow we in the UK have a stereotype of Korean teachers as formal and strict, Obsessed with discipline and control freakery. This may be undeserved, Or or your perhaps your just too young and you'll grow into it.
I think it's safe to say that most academy schools prefer bilingual teachers! Foreigners (non koreans) tend to get a free pass for not being able to speak korean tho 😅
