in a loud concert, it doesn't block the audio, his cam has 1 mic exposed mic which makes it very sensitive to loud bass and other loud sounds and makes it almost impossible to record anything, so by gently putting your finger on it, you are helping the mic from extreme sounds exposure which leads to a better quality in your recording, try it at home to see if your camera is this type of cameras.
