    Thanks for the valuable information. I didn't understand why are you stressing on copy and paste tables. Can you please elaborate?

    • @liveinnovationorg
      @liveinnovationorg  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Adnan Ali Hi Adnan! For many reasons. First, the simplest to explain which is formatting. Copied tables shows you were not careful in developing your own and it will have a strange look and feel in relation to the rest of the document. But most importantly, you should only report information which is relevant to your study. Outputs includes a series of values which aren‘t necessarily related to what you are doing. If you copy and paste, you demonstrate you are not aware and id simply pasting the entire output. So in short, simply create your own beautiful tables reporting only values which are relevant to your study. That would be my suggestion!

    Dear Prof Francisco,
    Do you have any recomendation regarding master´s dissertations in which the main focus have been to carry out a review and evaluation of a specific topic? In other words, it´s not the literature review chapter but the literature review of a topic as a dissertation topic. Thank you

    • @liveinnovationorg
      @liveinnovationorg  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Alonso, indeed, in this case the structure is quite different. I strongly suggest you have a look at papers which are "Systematic reviews" or "meta-analysis". They are great ways in which a large body of literature are reviewed. You can use them as basis to structure your thesis. But please discuss it with your supervisor, because it does change a lot and the order of sections change as well. Best of luck!

    Subscribed and excellent way of helping students. Quick question, i have done qualitative interviews and currently performing coding and theme identification followed by writing results section so my idea is to explain each theme and code groups identified and include own table at the end as u mentioned. Is that the right approach?
    2: i could do only 8 interviews out of 10 as i stayed earlier in proposal, do you think it should be enough for the whole research to complete and conclude?
    Once again thank you very much.

    • @liveinnovationorg
      @liveinnovationorg  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Nauman, seems like the approach you are having to report qualitative results is on the right track. Well done! Regarding the sample, it depends on many factors. I suggest discussing the sampling method and the population of your study with your supervisor, ok?

    I do not understand why you are forbidding to the students to use secondary tables and statistical figures published by non governmental research institutes or NGOs. If you cite them as I know you can use their tables with the description. Why so much no to it? Secondary data is still acceptable!

    • @liveinnovationorg
      @liveinnovationorg  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Draco, thanks for the comment. I definitely agree that secondary data is important! I never said it was not. What I meant is that often students will copy (such as taking print screens) tables from other sources or SPSS outputs and simply paste them on their thesis. Even if you cite it, for me and my institution (and many others) this would be a "no-go". But you can always check the regulations with your supervisor and your university. Personally, I suggest using the secondary data and, citing it correctly without copy/paste of tables. All the best with your work!

    • @dracomalfidus5961
      @dracomalfidus5961 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@liveinnovationorg Hi, I am afraid that you are right. I was told that the results section must include findings based on the primary sources but then may I ask you this. If I collect the statistical data and build my own diagrams and figures and present them in the result section without interpretations but just describing them, how shall I interpret quantitative data in the discussion section?
      I thought that, if in the result sections I am not allowed to present the results derived from secondary sources, can I then interpret these results (from primary sources) in the discussion session through the secondary sources such as scientific articles or other secondary data?
      More precisely, can I have in the results section presented statistical data from the statistics departments and then explain (interprete) these statistics with help of secondary data in the discussion section? If I must collect primary data and interpret the primary data, my interpretation will be based on the prediction rather than a cited source such as secondary source articles, book or other publications, or expert opinions.
      Thank you in advance for your answer.
