Ok but Bear & Breakfast is a FANTASTIC game with awful controller support. It's for sure a PC game - not a game for the Switch or other controller platforms... I think one thing that would be really helpful for users would be the ability to toss out old furniture -- for some reason, this isn't a game option (god knows why that was decided). I also think the game needs more consequences, like bad reviews etc, etc... It is almost TOO wholesome at times and you don't get that dopamine rush associated with succeeding or watching the B&B grow.
you can toss items out :) i’m not near my switch but i’m pretty sure that if you go into your inventory and select the item you can then move it up to the little trash icon which gets rid of it! if the item is in your bear stash then you have to move it into your inventory to throw it away as it won’t let you do it directly from there. same goes for items which are placed :)
Bear and Breakfast was a bit of a letdown for me. I was following the game for a year or two before it's release, and I guess I just expected there to be more game play and story rather than a straight grind fest. Cute artstyle but it could've been so much better.
I 100% agree with the grind and burnout of this game. It is still really fun but the further you get in the more redundant it feels? And more overwhelming
It baffles me how good you are at creating the BnB's! I'm awful at architecture and can't wrap my brain around how to make them look like the actual inside of a building
It for sure is a learning curve but I absolutely LOVE this game. I will say that it can get a bit overwhelming until you unlock certain aspects that make the game more manageable.
totally agree with it being v grindy! i was so excited for it but after playing for a few days and getting to the winter zone i put it down and haven't picked it up since. i was a bit disappointed with it and the controls on switch are honestly kinda trash :/ but i really like the idea of the game and maybe ill go back to it eventually
I got this game the day it came out from all the hype it seemed to have from its fan base. I ended up disappointed with the decorating system (it’s hard to make rooms bigger/smaller once they’ve been built) and glitches (I couldn’t remove a random door and guests would leave upset because they couldn’t use it). I also was hoping there’d be more to do than collect trash for more of the same decorations for more B&Bs. The spooky story aspect really interested me, and I wish there were side stuff to do not related to making B&Bs… Also it made no sense to me why I couldn’t sell decorations or get rid of them that I didn’t need anymore (since guests eventually require higher tier decor).
I played a really fun plant based, mystery/puzzle game I think you would really enjoy. It's called 'Strange Horticulture' and I found it by watching Gab Smolders' old livestream. I watched for about 30 mins and turned it off because I didn't want to spoil the ending, bought it later that night and have been loving it ever since. I would love to see you give it a try, a new mysterious cozy game might be what you need🥰
Seconded! 🙋🏼♀️ I managed to snag a copy from the Netherlands and it’s such a gorgeous game. Incredible graphics, storyline and gameplay that you can really take your time with, but also really emotional
I wish there was a way to sell old furniture, maybe I’m not far enough for that yet? I enjoyed it at first but haven’t played in a few days because it was weirdly stressful, I feel like the days were too short
this is rlly late and idek if you still play but you can recycle old furniture for material at the a24 junk yard! as long as it was smthing you crafted
I started playing two days ago on switch because a friend recommended it to me. The controls on the switch are honestly pure trash 🗑 I hate cooking and I had to google so many things in the beginning because they didn’t make sense. I do like the general concept. Being a cute bear that owns B&Bs is great. The art style is great! But it feels very grindy while also following this straight storyline? This is where I love Stardew Valley, because while there is a rough storyline, you can just do your own shit and be a happy farmer without talking to people. I think this game just needs more. Better console controls, more decor and a better system (exchange/recycle/sell old decor) for it, maybe upgrade furniture instead of crafting new one? Idk. I feel like there’s lots of potential that hasn’t been reached yet! I‘ll probably get tired of the grindy nature in a bit, it’s the same thing that happened to animal crossing for me 😬
i've never played it myself but having watched your videos it's UnBelievable that they wouldn't include some kind of recycle/upgrade mechanic for the old furniture, esp with it being so grindy 🥲

The thumbnail reminds me of gravity falls
@@meyca Might be a new feature - I played a while ago and back when I was playing there was no trash option!

It got boring and repetitive very quickly for me

there is, but you unlock it later in the game.
