you gotta admit. Ace Combat's a tough franchise to sink.. even 20 years after its inception. That ship has a relatively small but fiercely loyal fanbase.
These fans could strut their stuff and fall in love with other games like BF, CoD, CS, any other games.. but when the franchise they keep closest to their hearts call, you can bet your sweet ass that they'll answer that call...

They supplied the rebels in AC2, they probably were secretly helping the Eruseans during the events of AC 04 (the Belkan V2 missile in the central silo of Megalith, the fact that Yellow 13 served in the Belkan Air Force during the events of AC Z, and the fact that Anton Kupchenko, aka Gault 1, went on to design Stonehenge, are proof of this)

The missile in Megalith does not have Belkan Air Force markings on it. It is clearly the decagon roundel of the Federal Erusean Air Force. Anton Kupchenko was killed when he was shot down by the Galm Team.

6 may not have been the best of the main line (and X360 exclusive; it was my first game on the 360), but it certainly wasn't a bad game by any known metrics. Sure, subpar next to its older brothers, but a fine gem nonetheless; especially compared to games like HAWX or Event Horizon.

The real reason of why this game's delayed is pretty much because of that PSVR gimmick. Designing a VR game is very different compared to your typical game. Project ACES pretty much has to make the game all over again. The game's probably not even finished yet when they demo the VR.

Creating a VR version of a game is not "making the game all over." It's a very simple process actually, one that many amateur developers and gamers have done with the Oculus and Vive.
The reason for the delay is most likely the choice to multiplatform the game (thanks a lot, Microsoft). So in that regard, yes, they are now making a game "all over again." So now they have to make a PS4/Pro, XBoxOne/Scorpio, and PC version instead of just a PS4Pro one.

So Osea is evil? Then again in Unsung War, I wouldn't call them heroic. The Belkans had them and the Yukes strung along like puppets, though they were pretty stupid to just automatically assume Wardog was at fault for something they had no evidence for.
MagnaSonic3000 no one is inoscent at war + OSEA is based on USA and america made some really wrong decisions.
MagnaSonic3000 Osea was as much to blame for the Belkan War as Belka itself as they tried to economically cripple Belka prior to the war, leading to the election of far right leadership.
Not to mention they're a massive federation that keeps up swallowing nations somehow and controls half a continent.
Like what Iwo Rymer said before, there is no innocent in war. Osea might be bad in some senses, but perhaps their motivations aren't (same with Erusea). We'll just have to wait and see.
Not to mention Arkbird was a peacetime concept remade into a weapon to counter Scinfaxi. Despite that, it fell right into the Belkans' hands

Ko Shay i dunno its a real credible information or not, but it is rumoured to have 4 hours of Gameplay, at least there's multiplayer which something I could get behind on, or.... you could just wait for a sale that discounts the game (which probably when I will buy the game :p) even though I may want to remind you this: Ace Combat Zero only has 3 Hours Gameplay, and Ace Combat 4 has 4 and a half hours as far as I could remember (this information was acquired from one of the Ace Combat Discord Channel and this was discovered by speedrunning the whole game excluding the different styles you could do with Ace Combat Zero), and yet this two brings a lot of things in that short of time, so adding the fact that they took a lot of time to polish this game, that they probably will add an Online Multiplayer on it on every console except Switch, I said this was a very "generous" thing a developer would give to us fans of the series, even the funds came from us too that plays Infinity and bought fuels to do Raids and other things, it is more generous than buying a game focused on Multiplayer (while having not that great of a campaign and even shorter than this game) and priced it over 60$, yes I Am Loooking At You EA

project ace's greatest strength is they're innovative and isn't afraid of taking risks like assault horizon, but theyre utmost priority is listening to their fanbase and committed to not dissappointing the fanbase like with assault horizon

It's getting close to the events of Ace Combat 3. Now Namco should do an AC3 remake. Better yet , AC4 , AC5 and ACZero remaster.
It's still more or less 20 years away, but we do need an AC3 remake to retcon it back into the post-AC5 Strangereal canon.

Alex Moor it was still an pretty vague respond that Miyazaki made, I'm still skeptical about it really, but we'll see, it will probably be at 2018 or 2019 we'll get an official announcement from Miyazaki (considering a lot of Armored Core fan said it will never be as good as the old one) I just want an HD remakes really :/

TheLaXandro our lovely superfighters were in the hands of Osea's southern neighbors, so maybe we'll get a glimpse. At this point in the timeline, the Lesath-Aurelian War should be drawing to a close with the destruction of the Fenrir, so who's to say they exported some versions to Osea...They did have the Wyvern and Falken flying in formation after the Cirum-Pacific War (according to Aces at War) and the X-02 technically was an EASA design before being sold to Yuktobonia so perhaps we may see it again. One of the best things PA has done is introduce fictional fighters, and the designs always jog the mind of curiosity (PLEASE make the ADA-01B Adler canon and not just Infinity filler)

It's a very nice combination of arcade and simulation. I suggest, if you'd like to get a taste of how Ace Combat works, you try playing (or watching someone play) Ace Combat 5 or Ace Combat 04. However, they're both for the PS2 (you can also emulate them on PC).

You can try listening to the soundtrack from the other games. I say Avalon and the main theme from Ace Combat Zero would be a good place to start.

2 things:
- The dev lead for AC7 is actually the guy from Joint Assault and Cross Rumble, the latter being a remake/retcon of AC2. There, the F-15s are the Silent Eagle version, which has yet to appear again further in the post-AC5 canon and the S/MTD which already exists in the PS2 games. And the PAK FA also appears as a boss and playable craft. This makes me wonder whether they'll appear in AC7.
- Presumably Mihaly's black/orange Su-30M. Is this plane the successor to the Su-37, like in real life? Because in Earth, the Su-37 never reached full production, it being a thrust-vector demonstrator, and the late Su-30 versions are close to Su-35s.

I remember first playing the ace combat game. It’s been awhile since one of these games came out. I will be getting soon as it’s out. Hope it’s good. Graphics so far looks amazing.
When I was a Nintendo player I struggled to find a good dog fighting game. All the Nintendo ones were aimed at kids. I really wanted to play Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X 2 on Xbox 360 but by the time I got an Xbox One I forgot about it. I hope this game can reignite my love of air combat. Shouldn't be hard as I still love the Air Force.
Not sure what console to get it on though. I'll flip a coin.

Ace Combat truly is a fun series, blending arcade and simulation very smoothly. If you'd like to get a taste of what to expect, try investing in Ace Combat 04 for the PS2 (assuming you have a PS2, you can also emulate it on PC). It takes place in the same region as Ace Combat 7 will. Just don't get any of the games for the PS3... Those are... dubious.
Nintendo could have turned Star Fox into a kickass space combat game, but they are idiots so they didn't.
If they'd get their heads out of their asses and realize nostalgia isn't a good game-making strategy, Ninty could make a great Ace Combat-meets-Star Citizen out of Star Fox.
dude if you want to play a good dog fighting game why not pick up one of the older ace combats while waiting for this game in my opinion they hold up exceptionally well even if they are older even the ones on the ps2 i can easily go back to and play now the graffics are amazing for the time they were released the game play is badass and the storys are beautiful and epic do it man even if you have to buy a ps2 its so worth it plus ps2 is just a good purchase as it is they arent hard to find or pick up an xbox 360 and play ace 6
Heatseeker is available on the Wii, and it's one of the best dogfighting games ever made. A great story, very good gameplay and a good variety of Aircraft, not as Great as the ones of Ace Combat, But still pretty good! So bad you didn't got it for the Wii(Assuming you were a Nintendo user), It's my second favorite Dogfighting Game ever just after Ace Combat, And it has a huge fanbase (or at least used to have) that can confirm you that! 😉Maybe if you still have it you can give it a try!
So who exactly are we playing as? Is Osea the "bad guy" this time while Erusea is the "good guy"? What happened to our favorite Osean pilots since the events of Ace Combat 5? How is Erusea seriously going to play the victim card after the war of conquest they attempted on the continent of Usea?

i dunno, if the USA declared war on germany, i dont think they should be vilified because a completely different government did a similarly bad things half a century ago.
One of the common themes from Ace Combat is that there is no "right" or "wrong" side in war. I expect this motif to appear here in Ace Combat 7. So there is no specific "bad guy" or "good guy" (never is in an AC game).
It's stated in AC5 that the Razgriz never flew the skies of war again.
Erusea has reformed it's country from it's fascist federal republic to a kingdom. It's also been about 15 years (ha) since the Second Usean Continental War. Considering they're able to declare war on Osea confidently, I'd expect they've been doing pretty well. We can't say much from what we know now, but it's possible that the government of Erusea isn't the monster it was back in AC04.

I havnt wanted a game this bad in a long time. Ace Combat 4 was one of my most played games back in the PS2 era. Going back to that style game and that style story with modern graphics...take my damn money
I have a feeling based on what we've seen that the Oseans might be the bad guys here in some form or another. Which is pretty cool if it happens. Also, Kestrel, woohooo!
And that feels really weird since you PLAYED an Osean Fighter Wing in Ace Combat 5 and they're made out to be pretty good guys overall. But I get the message's probably meant to be anyone could be good or evil depending on the choices they make. Ace Combat Zero is my favorite game in the series so far and part of that is the moral ambiguity.

Another thing: Osea has always been an analogue to the real life U.S. and while the United States of America has done some pretty dickish things in the past and even the present, I can't think of any war-based video games that actively tries to paint them as the bad guys. There are certainly games that give a bad impression of their military ACCIDENTLY (coughCODGhostscough) but none that do so on purpose.
It just feels weird is what I'm saying. Still, really looking forward to this game.
It was stated in the opening narration of The Unsung War that Belka's act of dropping nuclear weapons within it's own borders shocked the nations of the allied forces into being more peaceful, and that happened 15 years before the events of 5. Assuming their presidential terms last the same amount of time as ours this means he could have only been president for at most 8 years, half of the time since the Belkan War. I think it's likely that his predecessor was also anti war after seeing what Belka did, and the events in the November Stadium showed that most of the Osean civilians wanted peace too.
I think of it more as Osea are the good guys but with bad seeds planted within in positions of power (I'm not sure but I think it was said somewhere that Applerouth was one of the Grey Men, but I'm not sure so don't quote me on that). Those few want war, yes, but the rest of them just wanted peace.
Although now that I think about it, by the penultimate mission, while we are joined in our quest by soldiers from both sides that were inspired by Harling and Nikanor's speech, we're told that there are still plenty of forces from both nations that refuse to stop fighting for the sake of their own hatred.
P.S.: Anyone new to the series reading this discussion is probably totally lost right now. lol

as an ace combat fans since ace combat 2 and electrosphere, watching this gave me chills.
This trailer brought back the tingle in my spine when I watched the trailers for Shattered Skies, Unsung War, Belkan War and Fires of Liberation which I lost when I saw the Assault Horizon
