I've yet to try the small Sebenza, I have 4 Large sebenzas, 3 inkosis and a umnazaan but no smalls. I will be getting some smalls soon once my other "desirers" in my collection get covered but great insight into this knife. For the "movement" I have a "theory", try holding the knife in a vice on the 2 sides without contacting the lock bar on the frame lock side and see if the blade still moves when pressed on without direct pressure of your hand contacting the frame lock. this will eliminate the variable of the hand flexing the lock bar and creating a feeling of blade play when applying pressure to the blade from any "flex" of the frame lock.

Keep carrying and using it. They are very good knives, meant to be used, not safe queens.

Plain small Sebenza is the best Sebenza. But I'd go with the Inkosi blade myself.

Plain Jane small sebenza is a perfect everyday knife. I have had one in some variant for the past 20 years. I do agree with the thumb stud though.

I love your videos man! So genuine. I'm like you with things. Like I want things to last forever if it means a lot to me like that sebenza does to you. I love that you are honest about your struggles with how you think about these things and you said, "I've chosen not to let it bother me." That is so me man. I just went through this with a tactile turn pen I got that has some slight mess ups on the milling but yoy can literally only see it in specific lighting at angles in line with the pen.

I run the ngmco clip on my small 31 and my umnumzaan, I won’t ever go back to the factory clip. The feel and the esthetics are really great. It kind of surprises me that CRK has not come out with this exact clip, it’s that good.

The ngmc Clio is the best, but crk is coming out with a milled style clip soon. They are working with a company that does powder form ti and they'll be doing clips for crk and be around 40 dollars when available.

I agree with you on PJ CRKs, I have alot it CRKs, more than I’d like to admit. All of them are PJs, something about their inlays doesn’t do it for me. The character the titanium gets is unbeatable, not to mention I think it just looks better, in a straight to business type of way.
Also my sebenza does have blade wobble, definitely not alone on that.
I like the blade geometry of the sebenza, but honestly prefer the inkosi.

@@doodysdaggers I like the Inkosi a lot, I carried it for like 2 months straight at one point. It’s got really good trails.
The action is smoother, way easier to thumbflick, you don’t have to put your wrist into it once it’s broken in. Also, I would say it’s more bankvault than the sebenza. Mine has not blade wobble.
I wanted to like the sebenza more but if I’m being honest the inkosi gets my vote.
Blade stock on the thicker side though, but I prefer it regardless.
Oh yea and I like the extra finger groove for the middle finger

I’ve owned 3 CRK’s, all small Sebenzas and I still have two. I got rid of the PJ insingo and replaced it with another inlay/glass blast insigno since that’s what felt better in the had to me (my other keeper is my first CRK, small DLT exclusive so inlays/glass blast drop point). I do thinknill get a PJ tanto next, though I really like the glass blast finish. Double pugs are an improvement in my opinion. Only single lug I’ve had is the first one and if cost to ship back and get doubles wasn’t so much (I’m in Australia), I’d have already sent it in to have it done. I have my first Hinderer arriving hopefully today, so will be interesting to see how I like that, though it will be a very different and considerably bigger knife.

    • @m.houston6643
      @m.houston6643 28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

@@adamzappia2213 yea I could see how maybe the ergos with inlays could be better for some, I suppose it fills the hand better. Idk they just never spoke to me personally. All I collect is the PJs. I don’t have any glass blasted ones just all base models except one of my large sebs has good double lugs.
If you haven’t tried an inkosi I recommend it unless you really just want that thinner blade stock badly.
As for Hinderer, I thought I was going to be a Hinderer guy, but honestly I prefer CRKs over them by a longshot. Got rid of my eklipses mainly because they were harpoon tantos and it looks way too tactical and I like a middle ground of tactical and practical / practical.
Still have my xm18 3.5 spantos but will probably end up selling them eventually.

Sebenza is definately iconic... so simple and beautiful! I however would want the micarta inlays... and double thumbstuds... id like to be able to middle finger flick it as well as thumb roll is... Sure its a slow roller with tight tolerances.. but Id want to be able to flick it open too... why not!

Dood, I wish there was a shmedium as well. I've recently been cleaning out my collection and all the CRKs stayed with me. I've been carrying a small Inkosi tanto lately and it's even smaller than the small Sebenza but it makes a great little edc package opener. If you need clip suggestions, Ripp's Garage Tech CRK clips are my favorite.

Hi Dood, I did same considerations on size. So, 2 month ago I bought the Land 812S. The design is clearly "stolen" from sebenza, but they did some improvements: size are between small and large sebenza, it has a steel insert on the lockbar, running on bearings, blade is perfectly alligned with the handle, solid clip, ...
I know, it's not completely honest, but if you can overlook the fact that the design was highly copied, the land 812s is a very good knife for 100€.
I did the first impression on my channel but probably you can't understand a single word (yep, how can you read my bad english, I'm Italian)

You can fix the pocket clip easily. Titanium bends very easily when heated with a torch. Heat the area in the middle and 2 or 3 very light taps with a hammer will straighten it out. The only downside is that there will be a little discoloration. What I do next is heat the whole clip so it all matches. I would also do the dual thumb studs, just one would bug me every time I used the knife! Here is a video where I fixed one. th-cam.com/video/bLikn3imZtM/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared

4:03 I’m pretty sure you have access to an anvil (I think I saw one in your garage or at work)-do you think you could lay a little bar stock over it and essentially peen it out or reduce it?
I saw another channel, Last Chance Knives, heat up his clip and push it laterally so that it rests more on the frame.
I’m surprised you selected the drop point twice now over the Insingo… I wish CRK would make an Insingo Umnanzaan,
I wouldn’t be able to resist that (I emailed them, they have no current plans to offer that).
    Thanks Doody ✌️
