I have tears in my eyes. Hard to believe a mall could be so important to somebody but it really was an escape going there every spring to visit my family who live in Phoenix. I will always have this mall as an instrumental part of my life and the joys of being young and with no worries.
I don’t think anybody who did not live in the area in the 80s or 90s can understand what a big part of life this mall was for people growing up there. We did our Christmas shopping there, birthday shopping, we would go see movies to escape the heat. It was a cornerstone of a lot of the social activity during that time. There are a lot of people who are very sad to see this mall go away and I get a little tear in my eye as well because I feel a bit of my childhood is gone forever. RIP PV mall.
This has got to be one of the saddest videos on youtube. Such a spectacular mall. I'm glad I had the chance to enjoy it for so many years. And to think they are going to demolish it to make way for condos and a Snottsdale type outdoor mall..Rest in Peace PV Mall
really good video man. Especially that intro. I remember playing piano for christmas here. Good times, the mall always had a more special feel than Fashion Square. That kmart song to end the video is perfect. I'm not even sure what cool retro design malls are left in the valley at this point.
@@AtoZRetail Awesome!!! I know people think it’s weird to be sad about a mall closing but it is the memories I’ve had there with my family and seems so weird now going to Phoenix as everyone moved from that area to Chandler and a part of me is like taken away.
It actually makes sense because the demographic surrounding this JCPenney makes a lot of sense and it’s one of the busier ones I believe in the valley.
@@AtoZRetail Or they're doing it as a hardcore negotiation tactic. The owners of the rest of the property have big plans for a 'mixed use' construction like that thing on Scottsdale Road. J. C. Penny and its parking lot occupy a lot of space, so they might be holding out for a big payout.

Bath & Body Works will still be open until April 24th so you can still enter a small section of the mall.

It’s a shame that all the MALLS are going out of business across the country to country.

This is pretty sad seeing all of the store closing signs around the mall I wish macerich could have saved this mall

I will always miss the movie theater. $4 Tuesdays! So sad. I drove by one day and the mall was just GONE. Leveled. Flat.
