    There are lots of extensive underground walkways in Singapore. From your video, we see you taken a super long route above ground, There is a much shorter and direct route from Tang's to Shake Shack at Liat towers.The "crossbox" is underground so as not to impede vehicle traffic flow. Pedestrian flow are smooth and efficient in Singapore and with aircon,

    Drink plenty of water while here in Singapore. When in Orchard Road, use the underground walkways. Ask the locals for help or directions. We locals don't talk much or are relatively shy, but we are friendly and helpful. Enjoy your stay here.

    Welcome to Singapore :D usually the more popular areas like Newton Food Centre or Lau Pa Sat are more expensive. The local neighbourhood hawker centres are where you'll find food for under 5SGD (usually the basic ones like mixed veg rice, noodle soup or chicken rice. Japanese/Korean/Western cuisine stalls usually sell from 6-10+ and premium meals like whole lobster, crab, hotpot will always be past 10SGD)

    • @ThePassportCouple
      @ThePassportCouple  ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think the other commenters have said it, but the rest of the country is very well connected for pedestrians and you can cross easily. It’s orchard road where you need to walk underground, the underground network lets you cross under the roads.

We are a small country, that’s why all our power cables, pipes etc are all underground and that’s the reason why u can’t see “nest of wires” above u.. 😂 Do venture into our heartlands to experience our lifestyle. The reason why you won’t see wires running over your head is Becos they are buried underground. You won’t believe how much it cost to get the COE. It just hit 110k SGD a couple of months ago to own a piece of paper.

    Can ask, when you pay with your credit card (say on the MRT) do you not incur a credit card fee? How about carrying cash, or withdrawing - how does that work, meaning can you go to a bank and use their ATM to withdraw cash, but then what would the fee be like? I'd like to hear about your experience with that please.

    • @ThePassportCouple
      @ThePassportCouple  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Robin 👋 We did not incur a fee when using our credit card on the MRT. We did incur an ATM fee when withdrawing cash, but our debit card refunds is for all ATM fees. If you would like to learn more about the credit cards we use, here are a couple of links to our website:

    Why would you eat hambergers when you could have roast duck rice chilli crab and thousands of other great hawker foods. And before anyone says chilli crab is too expensive go to No1 Maxwells - 25.00!

    • @ThePassportCouple
      @ThePassportCouple  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Chris 👋 This is a great point. The hawker foods are absolutely amazing and we ate a lot of it, and still talk about it on a regular basis. But we live on the road and Burger Shack is one of our favorite restaurants from back home so whenever we see one (which is pretty rare), we have to stop. But chili crab sounds amazing so we will add to our list of things to try next time we are in Singapore. Thanks for watching and sharing this awesome recommendation 🙌

    Hong Kong is more of the NYC of Asia in terms of density, diversity, buzz, grit etc. Even though Tokyo is the largest city on earth and you can fit 30 Manhattans in Tokyo, it doesn't have the diversity and grit of Hong Kong, that is more similar to NYC. Singapore is too tiny to be the NYC.

    • @ThePassportCouple
      @ThePassportCouple  ปีที่แล้ว
