Whenever I move, I fill my boxes halfway with books and the rest of the way with yarn 😂 Clothing would work, too.

I ofc know basically nothing about Clay's life but I remember all the vlogs where he had to work weekends and what seemed like insane overtime aaand I can totally see that he'd want less of that 😅

@@gizanglyer5299 I think it's because when you are a fresh graduate companies can really overwork you and expect you to pick up overtime to prove your worth in a way. It's really depressing 😂
@@gizanglyer5299 yep exactly what the person above said! Also finance usually requires you to make a name of yourself and you need to put in that work in the early days.
@@alittlelifeofmel5157 yeah I get that, just shocks me to hear some of the hours people work, it almost seems inhumane. Maybe I'm just lazy but I could never do that haha
ngl I’ve been anticipating the slippery slope from k-dramas to k-pop stan. I now eagerly await the inevitable transition from BTS stan to full k-pop chaos

isn’t that how it always goes hahahah. although my transition from kdramas to kpop was with bigbang hehe
I went k-pop stan first then to k-dramas and my first k-pop group was Exo but have been in the full k-pop chaos for awhile and am now settling into my comfortable just enjoy it stage, it is a slippery slope but honestly it was so much fun and I have no regrets (also really love BTS my bias is J-Hope, and if you’d like a recommendation for another k-pop group to look into I’d love to give rec’s)
Going back to school for a masters of library science has always been my dream, if only being a librarian was a better paying job...
I will be paying for this degree until I retire😂
@@JodieC26 it’s a depressing thought...I’m still paying my student loans and I have a job where my degree isn’t even being used.
(sort of) similarly, I want to be a college professor, but considering I'd have to take a pay cut, more debt, and less job security, it's just not practical.
I am a librarian, and I LOVE it! It’s the best job I have ever had. I followed my passion for books and literacy. With my husband’s income combined, we make a good living and have money to buy what we need and want and to travel.

I’m a junior librarian in a large public library in Texas, and I have mixed feelings about it. The job itself isn’t bad and can be rewarding, but some patrons can be awful and I low key feel mistreated and underpaid. It makes me wish I didn’t work on the public side of things. At the same time, I do love it when I help people; I’d miss that.
I don’t know what I want to do with myself.
I am/was planning on going to grad school to study librarian sciences. Do you think there are more negatives than positives in that field?
@@zoereads1125 in my opinion as someone working directly with the public in an urban setting (can’t talk at all for behind the scenes, academic, law, children librarians, etc), the main drawback is that the job requires a master’s degree but doesn’t really pay you a master’s degree worth of salary. I believe it should either pay better or only require a bachelor’s plus experience. After all, although the knowledge from library science is cool, being a librarian is really not that hard of a job to learn through practice alone. Shouldn’t get in debt over it.
If money isn’t a priority and you don’t have people depending on your paycheck for their livelihood, then the actual work is pretty good 85% of the time. I like it a lot and was devastated when I thought I’d lose my job thanks to covid. With my current skills, I can’t imagine a job I’d like better.
Which brings me to the fact that I have really bad anxiety, and the 15% of the job that sucks really drains me. My coworkers and I get cussed at and are verbally harassed by the public on a regular basis and even threatened with violence from time to time. To me, that’s the worst and confrontations are really scary but are unfortunately unavoidable. Also because of my anxiety, I stress out a lot when dealing with Karens, when answering phones, and when I’m on reference, making certain aspects of my job a lot harder than they should be.
Would I do it again? I don’t want to discourage you, but honestly, no. I wish I’d taken a risk and studied something I enjoyed more, instead of settling with a library because it looked easier. It’s not a bad job at all. I’ll miss it if I ever leave. It can be fun and I can deal with the low wage. But my main problem is that it can be mentally and emotionally rough, and my mental state is too fragile.
If you can handle the bad customers here and there and don’t suffer from near crippling anxiety like I do, then you’ll probably be fine with the job 95% of the time :) Especially if you do cataloging or are without direct public interaction (although I’m sure they suffer their own forms of stress).
@@toribirdz Wow thank you so much for such a well-thought-out comment. I really appreciate your honesty with the different downsides of the job. I will definitely be thinking about these aspects of the job from now on.
@@zoereads1125 You’re very welcome :) I wish you the best of luck no matter what you choose to do. Don’t mean to discourage you so definitely continue your research and talk to different people, because the field is very diverse. And although my romantic, idealized view of libraries has been shattered, the work we do there is wonderful enough that I’ve stayed in spite of it all.
@@zoereads1125 I would also like to echo the very eloquent comment made below, I did really enjoy the studies but it is a grossly underpaid job. I would say do it if you don't mind that, and if you really enjoy customer service and social work? I currently work in the b2b side of a large bookstore where the libraries are my clients, and it's quite a bit closer to what I wanted to do (more collection management and less people, haha), which definitely still made the degree very useful so that could also be an option?
