My baby did the same with Cluster feeding. She wanted to eat every hour, and I could barely get any sleep and she was so restless. She hurt me a little with her latch, and that also might have been the problem, but when she wouldn’t hurt, she would fall asleep on my nipple and I was sleeping with her like that when I only had 1 hour of sleep. Safely ofc, because my BD was there. It does take time. And cluster feeding has a lot to do with baby trying to jump start your breast milk even more, so that when you are home and have your full milk in, she will get more food for her to have her growth spirt. And my nurse told me that not to think like you are coddling when they were just born. We have to remember baby was JUST in the stomach and now they have to adapt to being out and feeling a breeze all the time and lack of comfort. And those witch hazel wipes are a life saver!!! Along with the ice packs!!! Using the bathroom hurts, and the squirt water bottle also helps a lot! I always felt way better after taking a shower and letting my cooch air out with a towel under me. Anyway, you’re doing great Momma and Dad. Keep up the good work!

My son use to cluster feed when he was a newborn too. It was so difficult! And I was breastfeeding my 2 year old daughter at the same time too. You guys are doing amazing!!very hands on parents!

Actually, it's nice to see newborns breastfeeding every one to two hours. Usually, the newborns at my hospital have to be woken up to be fed. Also, Chia still looks amazing even after delivering and without proper sleep. Happy for the both of you. P.S. Oh, and sometimes to help the mommies and give them a break, we usually encourage the daddies to "breastfeed" their babies. Skin-to-skin contact is so important with both parents.

I used nipple shields with all three of my small babies. I had a 4 pound baby and two 5 pounders all breastfed with the use of nipple shields. Super easy to slip a syringe into the side aswell when they're on if you are topping up feeds with expressed milk .
In case you guys ever catch this comment, I just wanna pass good vibes and encouragement. Breastfeeding is HARD AF but you got this. It's so rewarding, whatever little bit you can manage. Kudos to Colostrum

Congratulations! I remember hubby waking me up once and I woke up and started burping the nearest pillow. The sleep deprivation be real those first months.
Chia should have worn depends as a pad. It’s so much more comfortable than having 12 layers of pads in your underwear. Just change the depends every time you go use the restroom like you would a regular pad (they just take up a lot of trash can space😂)

Cluster feeding is so that she builds up the milk supply and this is normal and will happen several times in her first year as she grows. It's tough but will get easier as you learn more :)
