I'm a little slow but this just made me realize that 'come what may, I will love you until my dying day' line is like them saying it to us.. a final song for the last dance on ice as a competitive skating partner.. I just wish though that the line does not speak of the end of everything as well
I don’t know if it’s just me, but it seems like Tessa has always been in love with Scott. Not that Scott wasn’t but maybe he wasn’t aware of his own feelings. He did have several girlfriends. Tessa’s injury must have changed something in their relationship.
Sadly, it may have on quite a subconscious level for them. Tessa to be sure. If you watch any of Scott's interviews since he's been coaching, he's brought that time up with her surgeries, especially the one where they didn't talk. He seems to have a sense of regret or deep sadness over that time period . Many have questioned his own motivation for not going to see her or talk to her. Sometimes, when he brings it up, I wonder if he's aware on some level that it might have hurt any real romance between them down the road. Whether he's trying to protect her feelings or not during her recovery, I think it makes no sense to at least talk to her and see how she's doing. Especially, if she is your bff and the little girl you grew up with. Your partner. There was most definitely something going on, like his goal of going to the Olympics that caused him to shutdown with her. Possibly his temper and selfish tendencies. Whatever was truly going on, I hope all their marriage counseling helped. Real love is a powerful thing and I hope they remember that feeling with one another throughout the years.
Later on at 3:29 he's telling the interviewer how proud he is of her and how people have no idea how hard she worked... that's when she leans her forehead to his shoulder.
They definitely had something special. Miss them.
