Hey Beau, I’m trying to plan a canoe trip across the Alberta rivers.
If you are free some weekend would you want to meet at North sask river. Maybe you could show me a thing or two about fishing.

Hey sorry I didn’t respond to this message earlier. How far are you going? Not sure I could show you much to be honest but likely a few things NOT to do haha.

      Hey no worries man.
I’ve just been going on the creek and the North Sask river. I have a kayak cannot fit a lot of gear.
Waiting to take time off work. Maybe end of summer or next season.

Same issue with me. Honestly, I feel like the underwater camera tech is outdated by 10 years.Their support is a joke. Lots of back and forth before moving the repair along.

I was lucky. I purchased mine through Cabela’s and they were easy to deal with for an exchange and eventual return. Too bad though, the unit has a lot going for it but if an underwater camera isn’t waterproof that’s deal breaker…

@@beaubjarnason Any decent alternatives? Aquavu doesn't look good either.

@@benj3911I’m going to use the Aqua-Vu AV822HD. It has recording capability and fairly compact. Hoping it proves reliable.

I am in the market for a underwater camera setup for fishing and I am so disappointed between Marcum and Aquaview with them being the leaders in this industry it seems.
The products are made with the cheapest of cheap components and technology.
Outdated cameras, outdated screens etc and your showing the cheap seal with water intrusion on the camera itself which is suppose to be submerged into water for long periods of time.
They are just using the cheapest products on the market and putting a brand name on it and over pricing it dramatically.
These companies need wake up, shape up and start listening or seeing what the younger generation or what people are doing with the technology these days; as the technology Marcum and Aquaview is using is probably as old as the designing team and marketing committee. (Ready to retire, kind of old)
We have technology in our pockets that can, browse the internet, record 4k video, edit 4k video, view 4k video, make calls, play games, run a business from one device sitting in most peoples pockets and batteries that last 48 hours on these devices.
There is no need for these companies to be selling us outdated cameras that maybe get you 480p, 720p, 1080p.
The Minimum basic starting point for one of these cameras and screens should be 1080 - 60fps at the lowest standard.
In 2024, we should be able to shoot 4k underwater video with the record options for less then 600$ CAD with 6 hours of battery life and be able to plug in and charge while using.
The technology is there at the companies finger tips but they are choosing to pick the cheapest outdated components to give grainy video images, poor resolution, poor quality components etc: at a ridiculous high price point.

I feel I could go buy the cheapest thing off eBay or amazon and get just about the same quality of product - junk maybe better for a lot less $$ and can screen record through device.
I feel its pretty crazy to say I might be better off buying one of the ebay or amazon setup's. At least I know I will feel less aggravated with price to quality standards as I know what I would be getting myself into.
From what i gather from the ebay or amazon stuff is the quality is not the best for video imaging but it seems it lacks in marcum and aquaview as well.
I am So annoyed with these companies prices and lack of quality of products with outdated technology.
And I would really like to support a local store selling a marcum or aquaview but I might just take the chance with something cheaper off amazon.
Thanks for the video by the way.

You make some great points and I agree. Thank you for a well articulated comment. Makes me think about this issue even more. I’ve been lulled into accepting which as you point out is technology and quality not keeping up with the day and age we live. We should be demanding better. I was tired of lugging around not just heavy (yes a lithium battery can reduce some of that weight) but camera systems with very large footprints. With the amount of equipment I bring it was unacceptable. So although I’m using smaller devices now you’re right they should be even better and more compact. It has struck me as strange that not every single unit has recording capability as a standard feature. There’s models out there that have changed little to none in probably close to 10 years. That’s pretty absurd when it comes to camera/video technology. If they don’t adapt soon they’ll disappear I think as why not just save that money and get a live scope that has so much more range and usability? I can’t justify it yet but perhaps soon.
      Thanks for watching.
