Description..
Pokhu Devta is considered the king of this region. The deity is worshiped in the form of sickles and knives in every village of the region. It is said that the mouth of the deity is in the underworld and the upper part of the waist, stomach etc. are on the earth, they are upside down and in naked state. That's why it is rude to see them in this condition, which is why everyone from the priest to the devotees worships with their backs towards them.
Pokhu Devta helps the people of the village
It is believed that Pokhu Devta helps the people of the village in times of any calamity or crisis in the area. A grand fair is organized here by the people of the area in the month of November. In which during the night the priest of the temple prophesies regarding the village.
The priest's predictions regarding the prosperity of the village, crop production etc. prove to be true. Due to these characteristics and beliefs, Pokhu Maharaj's temple is famous as a pilgrimage and also attracts tourists coming here.
The head of the deity is not visible.
In the first chamber of the temple of Pokhu deity at Natwad, there are dried splatters of blood on the sacrificial altar. Shivling is installed in its inner chamber. Behind which is the room of Pokhu Devta.
No one can see the face of Pokhu Devta here. Due to which this scene creates fear. For this reason also, starting from the priest who worships the Pokhu deity, all the devotees worship only by turning their backs towards the deity.
