That would probably help ruin the gasket. Normally once a gasket comes loose or is removed, it has to be replaced because the rubber becomes out of shape.
Hi, were you replacing it because you had oil all over your engine head? I wonder should I do the same thing, cause I have oil all around the crack between head and block.
@@bleeneo101 So I had the same thing like the guy on this video, - half of the cover bolts were lose. Tighten em. I ve replaced the gasket too, since I bought it in advance.
@@363rs I know, my bolts were loose too..... my car won't start and I hope when I get the new gasket and torque it down, and put new plugs, it fires up. Also tomorrow I'm gonna do my best to clean all of the oil out of the plug tubes.
Great vid! About to do this next weekend... does it help to use the gasket maker/sealant anyways? Are there channels/grooves on the cylinder head side to make sure to align to? @13:10 I think that's the EGR breather tube, not PCV valve.
thanks for the tutorial. took me an hr to do. much appreciated
Glad it helped.
Thank you, did it last night. It wasn’t that hard but it did take me like four hours, but I did detail cleaning all the oil it was spilled.
Hoping to have the time to change mine in the morning. Thanks for the video.
Holy crap that engine is clean.
Very useful video, it looks like valve cover bolts are loose on most of the cars.
Any ideas on how to clean oil from the spark plug bay?
thankyou for the help
No RTV by the cam sprockets??
Thanks for the video; my valve cover bolts were also loose

Is it the same concept for the 2003?

Same issue here that's why I'm watching the video.

I wish I could unscrew the bolts as fast as you!!

the pcv is the one right in the middle.
What is the thing to the mechanics left like that belt thing?
timeing belt
Fair video...if you are going narrate either have some talk into mic or do it later. Can not understand over 90% of instructions
Sorry about that. I hope you can see how it was done though.
To tigh the bolts how many inch -pounds
61-87 in lbs for protege5 2.0 L
you dont have to remove the plugs??
No. Replacing the spark plugs is independent of replacing the valve cover gasket. You can replace either without removing the other.
