Definitely, especially after just binge watching season one over 3 days lol this is perfect for work and podcast vibe but I sit and watch these like a real movie cuz that’s how they make me feel
I know a lot of people don’t consider what’s going on behind the scenes at Smosh, but I’m personally really happy that the cast was so passionate about continuing Sword AF that they pushed to continue it in any way they could, even if it took more time and wasn’t as profitable as other series. It speaks to how much they care, for them to “settle for less” production-wise just to be able to keep making it.
But didn’t they say “it got More love and attention they ever expected” and now it’s “not their most profitable series” I’m happy we got it back but it just doesn’t add up to me
@@HadesCouture Also i'll add as well that it's possible for a small group of vocal fans to love the series but that doesn't necessarily always translate into being the most profitable-- particularly if they can't get as many views (which impacts how likely the algorithm is to recommend their other content -- hence why this is a different channel)
@@HadesCouture It could be that they expected it to flop, but just wanted to give it a try anyway, since they had so much fun. It can both be something they weren't expecting to get the views and engagement it did AND ALSO still not reach the threshold (whatever that is) that is set for being a profitable series. Kind of like a "fuck it, why not?!" thing.
@@HadesCouture It still doesn't make sense to me tho, think about channels like critical role their first episodes get 10x the amount of views than any other episode simply because it's the start of a new series. I just feel like logically they would've known D&D is a relatively niche game and that the views wouldn't remain consistent with the first episode. Then combined with the fact this was released relatively quietly (as far as i'm aware) and probably half of s1 viewers aren't even aware that s2 is on another channel. Idk it's basically dooming chances of a s3 unless they are truly passionate and don't care about the views. I just think it could've been handled better but the fact they even released a s2 despite the lack of profitability speaks volumes about how much they care. (sorry for the essay)

Sword AF an The Legends of Avantris have made me want to create my own character an maybe guest star just to gain my bearings.
Sounds absolutely dumb. They ain't gonna make that much money from this, It also doesn't cost much money to have a camera film, Smosh doesn't need so many people behind the scenes as they have. I don't think there is a single channel that has so many people as they do. It would have been so easy to film this around a table like last time. I personally will not watch it like this. I love this series so much. Need a season 3 so bad, Damiens such an amazing DM. His Storytelling an World Building skills are Extrodinary. The epilogue almost had me in tears. Sword AF an The Legends of Avantris have made me want to create my own character an maybe guest star just to gain my bearings.
I'm telling you, they are playing this is in Damien's private DnD Sanctuary, this is why they don't film this (also for budget reasons, prolly)
So true
Sounds absolutely dumb. They ain't gonna make that much money from this, It also doesn't cost much money to have a camera film, Smosh doesn't need so many people behind the scenes as they have. I don't think there is a single channel that has so many people as they do.
It would have been so easy to film this around a table like last time. I personally will not watch it like this. I don't watch sound only content.
"Budget reasons" 😂 Live production is more expensive and they're doing Smosh: the sitcom plus all their other weekly live shows
@@SonOfMuta live shows can only be watched by people that pay for them.
@@SonOfMuta I mean, they can do expensive stuff if it pays off. Either directly or through views or because it pulls long term viewers for other stuff. They have to balance the amount of people and editors and money they use for a project with if it's worth it.
i’m so tickled that we’re starting s2 on a Ship on the Sea, rlly creates some imaginal distance from s1 & gives me a “time for a whole NEW side of adventure” vibe 🌊
Delores is in her Sarah Christ era 😂
57:41 **Dolores voice** hey mech head, keep ur HANDS off the big guy!
1:06:20 something poetic about True Neutral’s CEO kicking ass solely based upon the principle of “meets it beats it” ☠️
YAY! Genuinely thank you for uploading this here too, from what I've seen this will make a lot of people very happy
God the sound effects and music make this so immersive, I love it!
Thank you so much for the episode! I don’t have any access to podcasts outside of TH-cam, so seeing Sword AF here is such a relief
THANK YOU FOR LISTENING!!! I much prefer the imagery here and the music I wasn’t expecting that fit so well! I’m so proud to be a fan of smosh right now.
Thank you so much for posting it on one of your TH-cam pages!!! I don't have a music or podcast listening platform, outside of TH-cam, so this is really, really appreciated!!! Smosh is truly one of the best companies around, because they actually do listen to their fans!!! ♡♡♡
The intros were amazing. So much imagery, the music, the sound of the Shape Water spell. AMAZING. The sound design is incredible for this series, thank y'all for putting so much effort into this D&D podcast. It's clear Smosh respects D&D as a storytelling format.
Thank you for listening to us! ❤
So excited for the new season. I totally understand wanting to do audio only (easier to get comfy cozy and you can pick your nose) but I’m happy you made this visual as well for us. Thank you!! 🥰
I just listened to this on Apple Podcasts yesterday because I didn’t think it would be here, but because you all listened and put it on TH-cam I will happily listen a 2nd time 🙂
YES there is more!! Just finished binging the season one movie all in one day and didnt realize season 2 had already started. i listened to most of season one while doing tasks and errands so i dont mind the lack of camera. it definitely made it better being able to see facial expressions and whatnot but this is far from better than nothing!
putting this on smoshcast is SO smart !! i love love the visuals to denote who's speaking. hoping we can get captions on this soon enough. noticing kevin plachy as an editor, ive missed his work on smosh!! ah this is so awesome !!
The editing on this is amazing. Having Kristy blasted off the ship and hearing her hit the water... all these details! So much hard work! This is awesome, thank you!!
Thanks for hearing us out!!! This will do. ;)
Posting this on TH-cam gives us, the community, a place to have fun conversations about each episode and that is honestly a big part of the fun for a lot of us! Also the visuals look great on Chromecast when having this on in the background while I work from home 🤓 Thank you for posting it here!
Already listened to the episode last week but obviously I need to relisten on TH-cam. Now we have a place to leave comments and discuss. Yay! Damien's story building and voice acting really makes this series so special. Looking forward to the rest of the season.
Yes! Comments section is such an important part of the experience
Lowkey wanna cry 😢 seeing everyone’s facial expressions and acting was my fav part of watching season 1
Thank you so much, Smosh! Listening & adjusting/ taking action - this is seriously how you ally! ❤
Anyone else in the same boat where I love Sword AF but just really couldn’t “just listen” to it? I don’t know why but even if this is way different from the previous episodes, just having this type of visual honestly helped me consume the content a lot better, thanks Smosh Games!
The emphasis of the sound waves around each person is so incredibly helpful! Thank you!
The music/ambience changed SO MUCH OMGGGG I LOVE THIS
This is the best surprise gift a Tuesday could've given me.
No I actually teared up from joy
and i love tuesdays, tuesdays are my favorite day, see i get off work early on tuesdays...
This is perfect! I love the visuals seeing who is talking, the music and sound design are amazing. Thank you so much for all the work put into continuing this series!
SWORD AF! I’m so excited for this to come back!
As much as we’re not seeing the cast which is sad. I do appreciate the efforts of the audio and sounds effects throughout to make us feel immersed.
And it’s nice to see character art
THERE IS A VIDEO WOO thank you so so much for posting this on youtube with a visualizer, makes it so much easier to listen to for me and many others !! cannot wait to listen !
So glad they put it on youtube too! Love the Visuals and sound effects. So excited for the rest of the season!!! (I hope they do subtitles if possible, auto generated isn't the best, especially for ppl that rely on it)
Thank you SO much!!! I’m hard of hearing and dmed the channel too asking for more accessible options and this is awesome! 💞 much love for listening to us!
Just finding season 2!! I’m so glad I did, I’ve been missing this crew❤
thank god. im really happy with how quickly you all did this, as a hard of hearing person. I really appreciate you guys listening to our concerns, thank you so much ❤
Omg I just found this, i’ve been wondering when season two was going to come out, lo and behold it already has! I never would’ve thought to look for it here on SmoshCast, but thank you!!!!
OMG YAY! I would have been grateful for just a blank screen if it meant you'd post it here so to see the work that's gone into showing who is speaking is amazing! Thank you so so much smosh crew for putting this together 💕
This is amazing! Thank you so much for posting this on TH-cam! The visuals and sounds help! And I've missed these characters!
Thank you for posting this here! I was really lost as to where it was when the announcement was posted only on instagram! I love looking forward to this episodic content when Smosh mostly makes one off videos.
This episode literally rocked my world. Can't wait to find out what comes next
Thank you for listening to the fans ❤ THANK YOU, SMOSH
HUGE shout out to Spencer for doing so much for this project! Thanks for getting back in the editing chair to make this happen for us fans❤ Much love!!
Finally! Been waiting for this. Thank you for posting it. So excited for those who don't have other streaming service to hear the first episode 😊
the pictures, the sound visualizer, the music, this is arguably just as good as the video version. the music adds so much and lets not forget Damien with the voice acting.
i struggled following along the entire time, when it comes to smosh I'm here because I SEE them, their expressions, their gestures... I really think this is a massive downgrade.
I will miss the video format, but this is still great!! Thanks for listening to us!
Listening to this episode for the second time, and I'm still so grateful we get more of this series - I missed these characters so much! The hard work and care put into the audio for s2 is incredible, and I'm so happy to be able to have it here on the smoshcast channel ❤ big thanks to the cast and crew for keeping sword af going!!
The amount of work put in to this is amazing, I can’t wait to go all out on fanart! :D 💕
Same! Want to start doing some digital art and bought a pen for my iPad so IM ON MY WAYYY🫡
Saaaameeeee
Wow, that cliffhanger gave me chills! I didn't realize how much I missed this series, and I'm very excited to see what happens!
Very sensible that they uploaded here ❤️
We even complimenting which channel they upload on?!
@@iamalfred7435they had a community post saying they would post it everywhere where people can listen to podcasts but not on TH-cam but when many of us commented how TH-cam is where we see our podcasts they ended up actually surprising us and posting it here!!
@@iamalfred7435originally this season was announced to be podcast only
Its not
@@user-rb4cj7mb8fIt is still just a podcast. Podcasts are almost always posted to TH-cam, the lazy ones in visualizer form.
I love that you did this the only addition that I think would be amazing if you put the hp next to each player
Thank you for listening to your fans. We will all appreciate it, I assure you.
Thanks so much for editing this so well, im so happy to be listening to you guys play d and d again!
Thanks so much for putting the audio on TH-cam too! Y'all are the realest ❤
this is SO GOOD!!!! the editing is phenomenal and the storytelling is incredible across the board!
Oh you are uploading to youtube.
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
I dont really mess with other podcast platforms. Thank you!!!!
I always wait for stuff like this to be "complete" before even starting it, just an fyi.
I'm glad you shared this with us but I so miss seeing everyone!
Thank you so much for this!! As someone who struggles with the podcast format and needs a visual to pay attention/has subtitles, this is such a great alternative!! Thank you for listening!!
it's such a great solution! I've still had to rewind several times to comprehend what's happening - same vibe as rereading a page in a book over and over and not being able to grasp it lol - but that's a me issue. Love having access to it though my heart is soaring
@@skittle1223 yeah I’m exactly the same, I know what you mean!
This is incredible. Thank you so much for listening to us all. You can see the care and effort that went into this. Also, the editing on the sounds and music is impeccable.
so nice of you guys to post this here and we really appreciate you continuing the series!!!
i didnt even realize that these started coming out, i've been waiting for their return. Im so so so relieved to see them continue this, i hope to see them come back on cam in the future but for now im thrilled to have them back!!!!!!!
THANKYOU FOR PUTTING THIS ON TH-cam TOO!!
thank you so much for making this accessible, i’d been so sad not being able to listen as it dropped but this is perfect
Very happy y'all listened to people about this!! Can't wait to episode two this Wednesday ⚔️
Smosh! THANK YOU for showing you listen to us. This is a great blend of what we were hoping for and also keeping it audio based. WE APPRECIATE YOU!!
Pro tip for anyone that needs/likes to watch with subtitles: I've noticed they're not usually available right away on the Smosh channels. But most of the time if you can wait and watch the next day after they upload they will be there. I noticed bc I've been watching them for so long lol
Also auto generated subs
@@sunnymeowcat yeah those are always available but they're not accurate most of the time
With my adhd it was super hard to focus on the audio only especially since I take no meds. Having this video actually helps so much (also the ending was so fricking cool)
