The beauty of pain is that your children even as adults will always have part of their father with them forever. . . . we will all leave this planet one day. If you don't like Peter Gabriel something is wrong with you. This man is a legend, humanitarian and great musician. He is also a Two time Rock and Roll hall of famer.
No matter how older the man gets, he still brings the energy. No matter how much his singing voice ages, it still has the passion. No wonder this man is one of my top three favorite artists of all time. 🙏💜
Hanging around after one of Gabriel's Earls Court concerts in 1987, I found a backstage pass stuck to the bottom of one of my shoes. I took it and offered it to the security guys at the side of the stage, asking whether it would be possible for my girlfriend to come through too. "No, sorry, just you" was the reply, and with a gentle hand on my back I was encouraged through the gate. I walked nervously towards an open door behind the stage, went through it and headed for a marquee where I could see a great many people standing and talking. As I entered the marquee, I realised that I reckonised pretty much every face in there. So as not to stand out and risk being ejected, I headed for the most easily approached 'face' I could see - Nik Kershaw - and immediately started talking about Dave Gladden guitars, knowing he had one and was a fan. After about ten minutes, a commotion near the entrance alerted us to Gabriel walking in, holding his two daughters by the hand. Ignoring everyone (incl. the members of Queen, Elton John, David Puttnam, Daniel Lanois, Dave Gilmour, Eric Clapton, Robert Plant...) he made sure Anna and Melanie were happy and sorted with a drink and something to eat, then turned and was immediately mobbed. I was struck by his modesty, his presence, of course his eyes, but also his lack of false bravado; he seemed to be a shy man. With so many people milling around him, I realised I was unlikely to get to talk with him, so I headed out of the marquee, out of the venue, and went to meet up with my friends. I have few regrets in my life, but not staying for a little while longer to talk to Gabriel is one of them. Followed him before this concert and with every project since. Unique artist who has made my life better simply for being around, even on the periphery of it.

I am a 60 YO man who until recently never realized how beautiful this man is. Every song I listen to, takes me on a spiritual journey and has in in tears, feeling the pain that every living creature goes through in life. Peter Gabriel reminds us there is love to help us during our journey, and that's all I need to get me through mine.

One of my cherished memories of my father was watching Secret World Live on the Disney Channel. Peter's music shaped how I see the world. "In Your Eyes" is still as wonderful today as it was when it was first released.
When I was 19 I thought this was a great 80's movie soundtrack song and the lyrics were basic. When I became a father I realized it encapsulated perfectly how I felt for my daughter. It can mean so much to so many. What a song.

Everyone is getting older and people should be able to age with some dignity and not have peoples judgement or criticism. I'm sick of opening papers/magazine and hearing people criticizing Rod Stewart or Jack Nicholson's beach physique. These are men in their 60-70's,we know nothing of their health, but compare them to themselves in their hay-day.
This is by far my favorite Peter Gabriel live performance of "In Your Eyes." It sounds great, the camera angles are perfect, and the lighting is stellar. Lights of SO many colors projecting rays in all directions, and collectively, One bright Source of light, like the night sky's brightest star, Sirius in Orion.
I first saw PG in 74. Been to too many of his shows to count them. I was at Madison Sq. Garden for the only time he played with Genesis in America after the breakup; in oncore. A blessing beyond magic. He is my Hierophant.
