With no time constraints or weather threats, I'll always chose drifting at one knot over motoring at five or six.

Man, amen. And to put a fine point on it - it's the opportunity to jump in and enjoy water that's a mile deep (which, to be honest, does freak me out just a little every time I do it.)

    Oh, it's a sun fish. That's a great shot.

Great video. I love the idea of just floating in calm seas.

It was glorious. We were lucky we had the time and weather window to do it.

It was a Mola Mola! They can be super friendly! We’ve had one follow our boat for a whole day. I wanted to bring it back to the marina as our pet, but that idea got overruled. 😂

Yes! Once we saw the GoPro footage we felt silly for being so nervous of a harmless Sunfish/ Mola Mola

Yeah, great to just not be in a hurry for a while. That turty was a good fella and the fishies liked him 2. A fortuitous meeting, and the day keeps getting lovelier. Except for that scary moment: I would have been terrified.

Have sailed it for decades. And it's OK - Freedom of speech & thought allows you to say, The Sea of Cortez! Geesh wokeness run amok!

It’s funny some people don’t know where we mean when we say Sea of Cortez so now we’re never sure what to call it 🤣

It was an ocean sunfish or mola mola. Also, y'all were total idiots for being off the boat with no tether, even with sails down!!! The wind could have come up suddenly and the hull offers more than enough 'sail area' to move the boat faster than you can swim. Look it up if you don't believe.

Someone was on the boat during those drone shots ;) and we weren’t that far from it after the drone came down. Call it movie magic 😝
