Service Parking Brake issue and fix of Chevrolet Traverse 2018

This video I made to show how to fix the issue of the Traverse “Service Parking Brake”. I don’t know how common it is for you guys but for me it occurs once in a couple of months for some unknown reason. Let me know in the comments if you have any experience with the same issue.

Actual lifesaver, I was dumb and decided to do e brake burnouts in my moms equinox,low and behold the service parking brake came on, fiddle around with it a little bit and figured out that if you push the brake pedal down and push down on the parking brake button the light turns off!!!!!!

I got the same message after replacing my rear brake pads and this video set my parking brake and got rid of the alert. Thank you for this video. For a sec I thought I was gonna have to take it to the stealership

Jazka Allah khair brother. I'm in Dubai and mine is Traverse 2018. I went for eid al adha prayer with my family and parked car in sandy and bumpy area. After praying when started driving back, while moving slowly in that bumpy area i noticed this brake warning. I really got scared as this was first time i got this. Had no option but to continue driving. After reaching home checked net and came across your clip. Immediately ran back to my car to try it and BINGO! The issue got resolved!
I hope it doesn't reappear.
But, would like to know the reason for this issue. Anyone knows?

😂😂 literally just saved me, went fishing in the wife’s car, established the parking brake due to a hill. Came back 2 hours later it said service parking brake. Geez thanks

but one thing to ask, while you doing the pulling and pressed down on the EPB button , are you pressing the brake pedal too or is there’s something need to do on brake pedal while doing the process?

How fast were you going? I got the brake to disengage, but it's 40 miles on the interstate to my usual dealer. If it locked up at 70 mph, that would not be good. Towing that distance though ...$$

Sometimes it doesn’t work if the vehicle is not fully turned off or the vehicle remote remains inside. Try exiting the vehicle and lock it. Wait for a few seconds or a minute. After that follow the steps in exact sequence as the video. Note. I didn’t test on newer models like 22 or 23 models.
