It's a problem, then you've got a letter or sound that you don't have in your language. For russians a common problem is 'th'. If you are Smith, most people will call your name as 'smiT', some of them will try to replicate a 'th' sound and call you 'smiF', and some will try and won't sussed by 'smiS':) For Svechnikov, you can try to start with word 'switch'. Like Switchnikov. Then try to replace 'w' with 'v' and 'i' with 'e', like in 'vector'. If that didn't work.. well, you can always call him Candlemakerov:)
