Thanks you, really appreciate that. We were in northern Arizona on our way to the Grand Canyon that morning I believe.

Love my annex (gen 1 xl & unfortunately single door)....

Thank you for mentioning that, I couldn’t recall, but I was almost certain the gen1 had 2 doors. I really wish SB had put two doors in it so no matter which side your tent was mounted on you had ultimate functionality. Thanks so much for watching!

How has the tent and annex held up over your time using it? I am currently looking at this for my rig!

So I have this and it came with all the stakes but I can't figure out how to stake it down. I guess I'm supposed to reroute all the straps on the bottom but I wasn't sure if that was 100% correct.

Nice video. Thinking of buying a tent and annex for the wife and I. You had mentioned the door on the annex faces to the front of your truck. I assume when you install the tent that you can do it so the ladder comes down the drivers side which then should put the annex door to the rear. Just like you, I would prefer the door to face towards the rear

      Yes you can

The only issue with it coming down on the drivers side is if you ever go to a traditional campground/state park. They’re not designed that way to allow that. Like all campers/5th wheels everything opens to the right/passenger side. That’s the only issue. Depending on what type of tent you get, you can have it open to the rear, but it’s not as functional if you want an awning or anything

What do you think the maximum floor height could be to match with the annex? I'm looking to install this on my Leer box.

I gotta be honest that’s a tough question to answer. I’m 6’ (72”) and I can walk under my RTT, the way it’s set up on my truck. So I’m guessing it’s 75” high and there was still excess material. I think it could work up to 84-86” height. +\-. Sorry, wish I could give you a better answer.

I couldn’t find anything online with the manufacturer or dealers that gave a specific number.

In order to attach the side under the tent, do you need to take off the tent cover zipper and reverse it to attach the annex?

I’m not sure what you’re asking. You do need to remove the tent cover and it attaches to the existing zipper, which definitely adds to the steps needed to setup and breakdown. To my knowledge nothing needs to be reversed or modified.

@@pnwoutdoors8873 I just picked up the 2688 annex for my gen 2 XL. The zipper is reversed. I would have to take the tent cover off (unzip) then slide that zipper off and reinstall it. Then I could attach the Annex zipper and it would line up with the longer zipper that completes the perimeter.

Interesting; I don’t recall needing to do that, frankly I haven’t used the annex since that video on our road trip, I think we were in Arizona. I am using it this weekend though, and you may be right, I maybe had to do that and don’t recall. And it doesn’t seem like I mentioned it in the video either. I’ll let ya know what I find out this weekend. Maybe they changed something.

@@pnwoutdoors8873 You have the most extensive vid for this. There's pretty much nothing other than a few reviews on SB and 4WP one liners talking about this. Thanks for the info. Keep on with the great vids!

@@59garage96 thank you, I appreciate that, I do recall, I never zipped up the back side because the rails stuck out too far, so I never messed with it. But we’ll find out this weekend, got a new truck and repositioned the tent, so we’ll see.
