Try using a pair of Sennheiser E-914 mics as overheads. They are very open and have a lot of 'air' to them. They are also fantastic on grand piano in ORTF.
Hi, I'm a newbie in drum recording, I have a question and I hope you would please to help, I have exactly the same set and number of mics like you, which one is better 2 mics on snare or 1 snare and put the other on the hihat? If it's Better 2 mics snare, how would I channeling the hihat on the daw? Your advice would be very appreciated. Thanks a lot 🙏

When using 3 rack toms, is it better to use just 2 mics or one for each?
One for each so you can eq them separately. It will also make it easier if you chose to layer it with a drum sample later.
