Doug was a complimentary drummer. He wasn't there to do anything flashy. He was one of the best drummers I've ever heard at enhancing the sound of the song.
I always crack up at 3:02. Especially how Tim and everyone else looks at Jay as if to say "You're a man, you shouldn't be able to sing notes that high!". Ha!
Definitely. As a drummer myself I think Doug Riley was excellent. I rarely hear him miss even a single hit, and I'm usually able to spot those small mistakes quite easily. No offense to Jesusffreak777, but I don't know how anybody in their right mind can think he's bad here or in any other song. I know a great drummer when I see one, and Doug was in that category, no problem.
BnCSGMusic: We'll have to agree to disagree. You should listen to good drummers like Mark Elerbee, Billy Blackwood and Gold City's first drummer John Noskie.
I think this was the best quartet combination ever

Yes, because Mark is a baritone singing lead tenor on this and knows he has to stretch way up high to harmonize with Jay, and did!

I've always loved GoldCity

Not really. It's actually quite good.
i used to be able to do what jay did.... still can but with falsetto hahaha
Really? High note?
That screeching at the end is not pleasant
Southern Gospel is so much fun. It's too bad so much of its theology is this awful dispensational premillennialism.
you have no taste dude i also think doug was good.... R.I.P. Doug or should I say Drum In Peace
I HATE THIS GUY! #Jealous
Man, that's some terrible drumming.
