I think a part of the natural human lifestyle we're missing out on a lot is playfighting. You mentioned the leopard being able to pull a gazelle up a tree without training. Leopards train that neck strength by playfighting with eachother, pulling on things and overall just having fun in their bodies in a competitive and collaborative way. I think we all could do with a little bit more playful roughhousing as adults.
YES! but to sum all of that up, the are just being leopards. We, too, should just be humans and move and play and playfight and all the other wonderful things we are made to do.
I agree with you. I played a lot as kid, always outside. So many different moves in one day! Unfortunately our adult life is much more restricted in movements, so need to exercise like this!
I have a daily movement routine every morning after I drink my coffee... Seriously though, movement, and re-learning to move well and PROPERLY, is incredibly important. Great advice and knowledge from Mr. Anderson!
My teenage daughter thought it was weird when she found me doing fire hydrants while I was brushing my teeth! She was so embarrassed. Well I’m still doing weird stuff throughout the day, heel-ups and feet exercises when I wash dishes or At the kitchen counter. My athletic son who wants to make sure I don’t age adversely Introduced me to how my home was actually a gym. No exercise equipment needed. You can do all kinds of exercises with stairs and hallways. That’s why Tim is a godsend to me. I am very grateful for all the introductions to flexibility exercises that I can add to my every day routine.

I just read some of the books and it opened my eyes. I follow the routine written down in the Pressing RESET book! Feels good during and after doing it.
This is really great teaching. I so appreciate these insights, knowledge and support you share. I agree a daily routine is essential. It’s hard for me to gather a good routine as there are so many that I seem to bounce around with the teachings a lot and sometimes I resort to just do what’s solid in my head . Ie; walking and other exercises I’ve adopted over the years. I want to transition to the teachings of OS and as I renew and strengthen , hopefully i can get back to extended walking /hiking that I love so much. But for now I’m needing a set OS routine to help me repair and rebuild and I’d like to adopt many of these as alternatives to some exercises I know so well. It’s all a practice and letting go as I learn to rebuild new habits. I’m looking into the book Pressing Reset. This might be a way to help me organize a routine with OS. 👍🏼
I'm doing well thank you. Hope you are doing well also. I just got out of the Army last year. I have to start getting back into doing a daily routine again. So it's a good thing that I found this channel.
Very interesting! I think that living like indigenous people (walking, running, climbing, lifting, crawling, working etc) should be the best way to be in shape, and in that way we wouldn't even think about exercising, am I wrong? Will you make a video about walking? Go on like that, what you do is awesome!
There's no other animal out there that technologically evolved to the point where physical movement--once so essential to our survival--is often not necessary in our daily lives. Exercise is an attempt to integrate that physically strenuous movement back into our lives. But, you are probably right that movement, in and of itself, may be sufficient, if not the ideal.
No other animal has tractors, McDonalds and air-conditioning. Bit sarcastic but I agree with u. They did a study with 3 groups over 3 months first group no exercise, second 30 minutes third an hour. 30 minute group same weight lose as 60 minute as 30 minute kept active rest of day where as 60 minute group was too exhausted. That's hard for me to get through head as feel have to smash my self in the gym, I do use it as escape from life not a way to help it.
Thanks to OS (I read 3 of your books) I corrected my squat-mobility ( A LOT ). BUT, my overhead mobility is still very week. I lack in pressing overhead and can't even thing about over head squats. What OS movements can you suggest to do for me?
That's great news about your squat! Fantastic! For your overhead mobility, the first two areas that come to mind (and without seeing you, I'm totally guessing) is make sure your breathing is really dialed in so that your spine is both stable and mobile - this sets the shoulders free - and engage in lots of backwards crawling - makes a tremendous press. I hope this helps some!
@@OriginalStrengthSystem Thank you very much for your answer. I currently have some problems with crawling, due to a broken hand this summer. But as soon as it gets better, I am going to crawl backwards. I am working on my breathing every day (the Buteyko method) but it's a great point as well!
Kinda. Dan uses OS in the form of the Big 5 Resets - but he also really loves the head nods, head rotations, and rocking. I still think what your looking exists on OSi-online.com. BUT I am actually writing a book about your specific ask here. May take a little while though... Thanks!
you are fantastic man! only it is so difficult to start when your body is tense or you feel without strength. Where to start so as not to lose motivation?
Hey, thanks for the great question. My first piece of advice is to allow yourself to start wherever you are and however you can move - wherever that is, that’s a great place to be. You can build anything from there! From a movement standpoint, this video is a great place to start too: th-cam.com/video/5e08_N8Ca7M/w-d-xo.html. Also, this feels amazing and helps you learn to move gracefully: th-cam.com/video/VkAB-PilTXU/w-d-xo.html
I also think we should acknowledge that animals and humans are NOT on the same playing field neurologically.....animals do not have the conscience capacity humans have and therefore are limited in comparison. Could it be that animals do not think about "lack of exercise" or "body fat percentages" because they have no moral obligations? They are not subject to "do" and "do not" principles like humans are...
Hey, thank you for watching and writing. While I don’t disagree with you, I think this conversation could distract from the intent of the video; to have a daily movement routine versus an exercise routine. I do agree the human body is an amazing creation - far beyond our ability to fully understand all of the wonder it contains. Thanks again.

I think you're 111% right! We've been given unlimited strength and health potential and much of it is unlocked through our movement.

Can you direct me to a daily movement video ?
This video is a daily movement routine - is there something else you are looking for?
i was hoping this was an actual daily movement routine. e.g., a 15-30 min routine similar to the moves in the small frame.
Steve, sign up for our OSi-online.com newsletter. We mail out a daily movement routine every day.

Sorry, I can't see what having a conscience, or following a moral guide, has to do with moving as well as one can, or with the CNS.
