Oh these aren't gifts.. these are jobs I've taken on. Im giving back to friends so it's more the case Im showing my appreciation and putting in the work to return these items back in the best condition I know how to.
What a treassure box of Schumacher parts. Good luck cleaning, inspecting and sorting out the parts😊 thanks for an other great video of what vintage RC is all about. Thanks Jason.
Yes it sure has been a lot of work. An entire night and day of pulling down every nut and bolt, then another day with my hands in 8 litres of Simple Green scrubbing every single part with a nail brush.. it sure was the craziest task I've taken on yet but I asked for it and no these cars and parts aren't stopping with me. I already have some very nice Cougar 2 cars so this is an opportunity to make certain a couple of my friends end up with some too which can be driven at the Bash 3.0
Thank you Sean. This wild world of vintage rc carries us in various directions and I can say the NICHIMO caged cars will be back at some stage. I have both the Vantage & the Midships to complete and will at some point get to those also.
@@Bormac073 cool cool bro! Definitely cool where Rc has come from in the past. If I’m not mistaken AYK and Ishipla were the first to introduce oil threaded shocks! Hope to help get the word out that Ishipla just didn’t make one car and helicopters. Gotta thank Luke for explaining the Ishipla Super Hawk!
Thank you Mark. No not a haul. Alex sent me this lot for me to clean and sort. I already have enough Schumacher cars and parts. Part 2 of this video yet to come will explain even further what this was all about.
Richard it was very kind of you to donate those shock parts to a very worthy gentleman. I already own 4 amazing Cougar 2 cars of which 2 I race. I like the idea there will be two more out there for the vintage bash 3.0. Thank you again for your help
Now that is a box of parts!! That should keep you occupied for a couple days LOL!!! I am sure a giant box of bits is going to turn into a couple really nice looking buggies!
@Bormac073 Yeah we were all tamiya back in the day but our club did trips away to other clubs occasionally and l remember seeing a PB Mini Mustang and wow it was so fast but light and stable it was an eye opener! Probably a two speed too l was impressed as a 13 year old lad for sure!
such a gold mine of parts 😱 if he wants to move any cat 2000 or cougar 2000 parts on id be interested 😉 but yea thats going to keep you busy for a while 🤣🤣👌
Thanks Jason. Gift??? Don't you mean - 'under taking'??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 3 people will benefit from this lot and my name certainly wasn't on the list. Keith will end up with a running Maxima which he'll be able to experience out on track. Alex will have a built Cougar 2 Team car plus my friend is getting some items that will go towards the TEAM I am building for him also. Then all these (cleaned and sorted bits) are heading back to Alex in Melbourne 😁
I’m exhausted just thinking about what it’ll take to clean all that stuff Jason! Glad to see the maxima surface on your channel, the original owner will love it as well I bet!! Those shock bodies are actually 3d printed aluminum, but they’re crap all the same 😁 Good luck with all that work & hopefully you’ll be feeling better soon 👍👍👍
Thank you Wade. An entire day of my hands in a tub holding 8 litres of 100% undiluted Simple Green and a scrubbing nail brush really did put my skin through hell 😄 However all the Schumacher parts are now clean and the assembly of a couple of Cougar 2 buggies can happen. The Maxima will be next... Keith has some MASSIVE news coming for all. Just wait till he drops this one 🤩
for such an action I would put rubber gloves on, but for unscrewing older nitro kits I did not because of the feeling and my hands were black after 2 cars.
Thank you. Im definitely on the improve. Alex will soon have his Cougar 2 built from these parts plus I'll have a handful of items from this lot to create another which will go to a mate of mine... then its all getting shipped back to Alex 😆
That blows my cougar parts collection out the water 😂 be interesting to see if you find any rare original speed secret parts. I’ll be following this as you know im cougar daft, cheers for the shout out 👍 pretty sure they where red anodised but soaked them in oven cleaner. They should look better once polished or re anodised.
Alex has had these parts about as long as I have known him or even longer. It's been an offer on the table since forever that I would get a hold of all these parts, clean and sort and build him up some cool stuff. Once built they will all go back to him.. cleaned and sorted

If you watch the video till its end, you'll know this wasn't a gift. It's a task I've undertaken to help a couple of good friends. I earn no income for all the work that goes in. On occasion if something does get gifted my way I like to continue the trend and give back in ways that I can.
I convinced Alex to send me all his Cougar parts for me to clean and sort and the gift was for me to undertake this, also building him up a Cougar 2 Team car plus I sent him a huge box of onroad cars and parts in exchange for some bits to go towards another Cougar 2 Team car Im building for a friend.... then all what's left will be boxed up and shipped back to Alex.
You are a lucky man Jason all of these gifts show just how appreciated you are in the RC community.

Some super cool builds to come I'm sure. So much treasure. I'm glad you got the experience just to identify them
Thank you Dan. Many years of tinkering has left me with the ability to know a thing or two 😄

Brilliant video, amazing content as always, thanks again.
Thank you. It's a fun place for us to share the interesting stuff that goes on in the hobby.
Looks like a Cougars Paradise!
Keen to see the Cougar 2 Team car come to life - that was a dream car growing up.
Good to see this channel, cheers!

Definitely a cool box of parts!!! Looking forward seeing these cars being built! Still waiting for the Vantage to return!
Thank you Sean.

Great video. Must be some great garages full of parts around the county.
It never ceases to amaze just what's out there. That's for sure.
So many memories came back just watching you umpack all tjose C2 parts!
Alex is a great friend and it's a labour of love for sure. Just wait till you see part 2 of this story

@@Bormac073 I am sure! Nothing like cleaning up 17 kits worth of parts all at the same time! 😂

Thanks MB. Indeed the PB cars are of great interest to me also.

I felt your disappointment after grabbing all the last papers concluding it was empty and there was not 1 small bit left to unbox :-)
Ha Ha.. Yes the bottom of that box needed to end somewhere and it was a lot of items to sort and clean

My wife keeps plastic bags AT LEAST that old!

lol.
what work did you take on yourself, oh my.... that is going to be something else of cleaning all those parts, better get a mini bathtub....
You aren't wrong Ken.
My laundry area is well sorted for this kind of thing 😄
Better make a "Works" version????
Thanks Ken. Unfortunately not much Works parts in this lot. Mind you I already own 2x WORKS version Cougar 2 cars.. so I'm already sorted 😅
