I enjoy your videos!! Your home is beautiful!!! Im in Kentucky, and in my area, we call the biscuits that you made, drop biscuits. What we call cat head biscuits, are big and fluffy!! My husband and I enjoy all biscuits!!😊. May God bless you and your family!!
That’s great to know! I’ll have to actually research cat head biscuits more! Thank you so much for your kind comment. Hope to see you here again soon 😊❤️
The snowflakes turned out so cute and I’m sure Cindy loves them! Your videos are so much fun to watch and I always look forward to seeing the kiddies in them!
Hi Lauren....the breakfast looked delicious. I could smell it. 😋. I would have to have a biscuit with honey too. I'm a morning person and breakfast is my favorite meal. Thanks for the visit. God Bless ❤. Ps..... tomato soup and grilled cheese..."YES". thin tomato soup is still good. Can you tell...I like to eat. Lol
Lol Kenna, we are one in the same! 😋 Thank you so much and yes, a biscuit with some honey is now calling my name too! So good! Hope to see you again soon! ❤️
Yes, they're cat head biscuits, or maybe kitten head biscuits, since southern cat heads are about twice as big! My mother shaped them slightly with her hands and cooked them with a little oil in a preheated iron skillet.
Ooooh I sooooooo enjoyed your video this morning ‼️‼️☕️. I smiled when you got out your frozen tomatoes because I’ve been doing that for years as I have become quite lazy canning but then it’s only my husband and I now. All my babies have flood the nest and have families and babies of their own.💙🤍🩵💜. I’m definitely gonna try without the chicken broth lol your homemade tomato soup. And I as well started making bread white. I’m going to try my hand at wheat, but sourdough bread. Neither one of us care for that as much. Thank you so much for this video again truly enjoyed watching it.
I’m so glad to hear you enjoyed this video, thank you so much for taking the time to leave me a comment! Freezing tomatoes was definitely the easiest thing to do at the end of summer! Hope you enjoy the soup experiment 😉❤️
The tomato tool, is it a food mill? I also don't have one and just recently FINALLY made it through all my frozen tomatoes as we had a full beef to make room for. I have to tell you that even in the throws of summer tomato harvest when I am attempting to work through processing them as we go, I cut the core out and toss them in a bag and put them in one of my deep freezers. Then I bring in the bags of tomatoes and run them under some warm/hot water and they slip the skins SOOOOO EASILY. (I freeze dry the skins to turn into tomato powder which I use to thicken sauces, etc. Such great flavor.) Then I just toss the naked frozen tomatoes into my giant roaster and leave them be. Once they are thawed out, I ladel out the excess water while trying not to disturb the flesh of the tomatoes too much. If my 22 qt roaster is heaping full, I can usually get several large pitchers of tomato water off. Some people can the water to use when they make soups or rice. I'm not that gung ho, but my chickens sure do love it. This helps so much in getting a nice, thick sauce. Sometimes I hit it with an immersion blender. Sometimes I leave it chunky. This way I don't have to bother with specific "types" of sauce tomatoes. I just grow a bunch of everything and it all goes into the sauce. I just found your channel and am really enjoying it. 😃
I am loving these tips. Thank you so much! Last summer my mother-in-law really got into using her roaster as well. I thought that was such a great idea! I love the tip about simply washing and coring the tomatoes and freezing them! I love anything that saves time!! 😅 my chickens got the scraps as well, I don’t know if I mentioned that in the video. I have never heard of freeze drying the skins, will have to look into that! Thank you again for the tips and for watching! Hope to see you here again soon! ❤️
I think I’ve found the sandwich bread recipe I’ve been searching for, it’s come out so fluffy and delicious in our breqd maker! Hope you find one you all love 🍞 I don’t honestly think I’ve ever made tomato soup with grilled cheese, so classic, maybe I’ll have to give it a try this winter.
That’s awesome 👏 you’ve already found the bread recipe you love, you’re killing 2024 already! Lol! 🙌 I baked sourdough about every week last year and learned so much so this year I’m focusing on that darn sandwich bread lol! You’ll have to try tomato soup! I’ll say my actual recipe version (going to share soon) is better than the quick recipe I shared today BUT way better than store bought imo! Thanks so much for stopping by today!
hey girl- yummy food!😊and those biscuits look so amazing- You know I am from the south and I have never heard of cat head biscuits😜 We also call these drop biscuits. Love the snowflakes- y'all did a great job🤗🥰and that snow looks so pretty. We still haven't got very much here in Oklahoma yet😉
Part of me wishes it would snow like this again, it’s so pretty and the kids love it! It’s been warm here lately, giving us all the spring fever! Thank you so much for watching and sharing your comment! 🥰
Thank you for sharing your recipe of the biscuits and gravy. I will try it. I just subscribed. I am 61 so a different stage of my life. I decided to follow you hoping for more food tips. I was always too busy designing and decorating, so cooking was not my thing. Now, I want to cook. So I hope to learn a little from you.
I don't can so that was a helpful hint about freezing the tomatoes. Our snow started late but has made up for it in the new year along with the subzero temperatures. All of the food looked delicious. I've seen several tutorials about the big snowflakes and they look so fun. I'll have to try it. Thanks!
Yes, I’d been wanting to try the snowflakes for awhile now and being so cold lately it was the perfect project. You’ll have to try them! Thanks for stopping by today ❤️
It is very handy! I got one for my mom for Christmas and she loved it so much she got me one for bday 😆 so handy when the whole family needs food all at once! So glad you enjoyed the video, appreciate you stopping by and commenting! ❤️
I love drop biscuits. I hate to make the mess when doing roll out biscuits. Your recipe sounds like the one I use from the red plaid cookbook. My mom got me the better homes and garden cookbook when I moved out on my own. The biscuit page definitely has a few splatters and smudges.
There’s another idea! Thank you! I did end up using it in my tortellini soup a week or so later after freezing the leftovers. It was so yummy! It’s in another recent video. Thanks for watching!
Hi, I am new to your channel, love it... I'm thinking that the tomatoe strainer you need is called a victoreo strainer I have one and I love it . Great for tomatoes, apple sauce ect.
Ah yes, that would be an awesome tool to have! A food mill was another popular suggestion, I think either would work for this. Thank you so much for subscribing and chatting here in the comments! Good to hear from you! ❤️
Cathead biscuits are the last biscuit you make with the last of the dough. It's not enough to make two biscuits, so you just make one large, oddly shaped biscuit. I think someone thought it looked like a cat's head 🤣
Loved the video, watching all the way from Scotland U.K. When you make sausage is that beef or pork? For us sausage is usually pork. Ground beef we would call it beef Mince. So trying to follow your recipe with our equivalents 😂
It’s pork sausage for sure, the fat and flavor is ideal for biscuits and gravy! 😋 Love hearing from you all the way from Scotland! ❤️ Thanks for stopping by!
No cat head biscuits are baked in a round dish, or cast iron pan. Putting the round biscuits in a round pan makes the biscuits a triangle ish shape . That triangle shape is like a cat head shape. Not drop biscuits
I really like the ticket jar. I did that as a first grade teacher and now I have two littles and I think this would work better and more effectively than a chore chart. I like 25 cents per ticket too. Both our kids have give, spend, save jars so I think having this set of jars in the kitchen would really be good and the focus on a post it note for that week or month or what have you. Thank you! Will work good for a 5 and 8 year old😊
Absolutely! That’s the perfect age! My boys are 6 and 9 and it still works so well with them. My oldest is the business man and we’re often negotiating how many tix he can earn for doing extra chores or cleaning extra places… like my car lol! It’s great! Hope it works well for you! Thanks for stopping by!
Seeing this so late, BUT…. I love those snowflakes! I immediately went to Pinterest and saved them to my Winter 2024 board! ❤
It’ll be that time before you blink! Glad you found some inspiration! Thanks for stopping by!

Ooh yum! That sounds delicious! Thank you for sharing your memory with me! 🥰

I enjoy your channel. I add pesto to my tomato soup. can't wait to try your biscuit recipe. Celanie
MMM! That sounds amazing! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Just found your channel! I have been binge watching them while we are snowed in.
I believe the tool you might be referring to is a food mill.
Yes I think so, thank you! So glad to hear you’re enjoying my channel! Thanks for subscribing, hope to see you back here again soon ❤️
So Cozy!🕯️
Thank you! 🥰
The snowflakes turned out so cute! What a fun, thoughtful project and gift. So happy I found your channel🥰
Thank you! Grandma loved her bday gift from the kiddos! ❄️ So happy you’re here, thanks for stopping by!

Never a bad time to start something new! I love that! I sure hope you find some inspiration here

I am from Tennessee, we call those drop biscuits. We refer to really big and fluffy biscuits as cathead but they are rolled and cut out❤
That’s good to know, thank you for sharing! ❤️
Another great video! Love your creativity in all that you do!
Awe thank you so much, what a sweet compliment! Thanks for stopping by! ❤️
Loved this video! So cozy. I need a large flat grill like yours, looks so handy ❤
It is very handy! I got one for my mom for Christmas and she loved it so much she got me one for bday 😆 so handy when the whole family needs food all at once! So glad you enjoyed the video, appreciate you stopping by and commenting! ❤️
New to your channel. Really enjoyed your video! Will keep watching for more!
Thank you so much! Love to hear that! See you back here again soon!
A food mill would help remove the seeds and skins from the tomatoes 😊
Thank you! I’ll have to look into one for this summer’s harvest 🤞🤞
I love drop biscuits. I hate to make the mess when doing roll out biscuits. Your recipe sounds like the one I use from the red plaid cookbook. My mom got me the better homes and garden cookbook when I moved out on my own. The biscuit page definitely has a few splatters and smudges.
That sounds like a great cookbook! And I’m with you, drop biscuits are less mess and quicker! Thanks for stopping by!
Hi there. My name is Karen, and I too, am a ribbon hoarder! 😂👍🏻
Hi Karen 👋😆 This is a safe space lol! Ribbon and fabric hoarding pay off for me every time 😉 Thanks for watching!
The name "cathead biscuit" originated in the Mississippi Delta. A cathead biscuit is a large, fluffy biscuit. The ones you made are drop biscuits.
Thank you for the history! ❤️
I've always used a grater, that's not lazy, it's just smart.. work smarter, not harder..
It felt easier than muscling through with a pastry cutter that day 😅
Maybe adding in a few potatoes and mash them in the soup to thicken the soup a bit?
There’s another idea! Thank you! I did end up using it in my tortellini soup a week or so later after freezing the leftovers. It was so yummy! It’s in another recent video. Thanks for watching!
FOOD MILL! They come in a hand crank version and then they have large electric ones if you are doing big volumes of things.
Lol I knew it was something simple! 😆 I think just a small hand crank one would be just fine, thank you!! ❤️
Hi, I am new to your channel, love it... I'm thinking that the tomatoe strainer you need is called a victoreo strainer

Just found you. Looking forward to watching you. 😊
Thank you, so glad to hear you enjoyed this video! Thank you for subscribing too ❤️
lol, I am from the south and we call them drop biscuits, never heard of cat head biscuits will have to research that one
Same here, will have to try! Thanks for leaving me a comment! 😊
I live in Mississippi, cat-head biscuits are over-sized biscuits.
That’s what I’m hearing, I’ll have to try those sometime! Thanks for commenting! ❤️

Thanks for stopping by! ❤️
Thanks for the birthday wishes and snowflakes. They look wonderful in my window! Loved the visit from all my sweet grandchildren too. ❤
You are so welcome! Happy birthday ❤️
No. Cat head biscuits are rolled and cut, not a drop niscuit. And they are really large hence the name cat head biscuit
Good to know, thanks for sharing with me! ❤️
