You know what I love about LZ That he changed his viewpoint of things Before he did what he was told and thought that was right But then he changed and realized that he should question "what is right and what is wrong" and make own decisions
Lan Zhan considered right or wrong and made his own decisions from the beginning, (like letting the Jiang disciples in, he refused first because Wei Ying was making an undue request which isn't reasonable seeing the Lan principles while Wei Ying had to satay there and Lan Zhan and Wei Ying didn't know eachother at that for him to vouch for his identity or do a favour, he observed them and let them in ) Lan Zhan fell for Wei Ying at first sight, Wei Ying had special feelings for Lan Zhan. Lan Zhan's love was unconditional, he loved, cared, protected and believed in him for whoever he was whether right or wrong, sane or insane, good or bad and was ready to heal, and mend for him for whoever he might become Apart from all this, what Lan Zhan did or the principles he followed were actually his way to keeping Wei Ying safe, they weren't unreasonable, Wei Ying always went against them because he was doing things that will lead to his demise and always tried convince Lan Zhan to let him be and go to his demise, which Lan Zhan could never do, so Wei Ying tried to convince him and misunderstood him, avoid and shake him, and even pushed him away to put him to safety. It's not that Lan Zhan couldn't stay by Wei Ying's side because of his principles but because through all those good deeds and twisted methods for justice to protect others, he was actually causing his and all their demise, and Lan Zhan could neither deny Wei Ying to protect others or do justice when Wei Ying asks him for that literally holding Lan Zhan's heart in his hands, but he couldn't see him go to his demise either. Its crazy how the people with the biggest smiles can be one of the saddest people in the world and in this case its true for wei ying as he tried to do everything for everyone and it didn”t even matter in the end because he went through so much heartache trying to be just and everyone just pointed to him as the big bad. The only person who seemed to want to figure out what was going on underneath was Lan zhan and even after his death, he questioned all that he knew to make right what was wrong and stand with that person till the end. The part of wei ying coming back in pieces... hit me hard through the heart.
