I got one yesterday, and meddled with it for a few hours. One thing that you have to be aware of is the sensor in the right wrist comes upside down in the box because it's safer for the electronics in shipping. Make sure you flip it the right way when you get yours. Also, I found that it helps if I rotate the sensor a bit so that it sits slightly on the thumb side of my inner wrist because of my own posture, play around with it a bit. Taping the LED pockets closed with clear packing tape also helped a ton, because the fabric pockets don't really hold them in if you make rapid movements. If you're any good with sewing, adding a few stitches to the LED pockets would also work. I'm looking at getting a bit of Velcro for the lids of the pouches as well. All in all, it's a good buy for a comfortable sweatshirt that comes with sensors and a speaker that I couldn't build for the price this was.

It took a few redo's to get the sensor set right, but after that I could -generally- get the spells I wanted to cast. The sound effects are amazing. Bit too loud on the lowest setting, but its good enough. Lights are pretty powerful. Not as bright as they look in the video, but still noticeable. Its got plenty of zippers on the inside so its easy to take apart and clean. Cons: Its pretty baggy. I don't know if I just got a large or what. I ordered a med but they don't seem to have a label for the size. The inside can be removed so It might still fit better later, but it also hands a bit too far past my waist. The bit are a bit out of place. I've tried to adjust the lights in the hood to be more visible, but they just slip back into place. The sensor band on mine was sew on a tad off the mark so it was hard to get it to stay in place. Some of the spells motions are too similar. I cast the Air spell when I mean to cast Raise the Dead. Thunder when I try to do Water Bending. Healing when Im trying to Restore Manna. Of course this could be completely my fault. The spells are a bit tricky, but really cool. Wires in the hood are too thick and makes it stand weird. Scared I'm going to snap those lights in half. Wouldn't mind if they sold spare parts :D Overall, great concept, cool jacket and great electronic work. There's room for improvement but, whoa, its pretty cool. I'd buy it again for the price. People who don't like the price clearly haven't bought their own cloths :P Now we just need a ThinkGeek LARP event xD

The computer/speaker is a clip on box inside the hoodie that they recommend you put on your belt and so do I (the wire attaching it gets taunt otherwise.) Overall, I like it a lot. Pricey, but worth it just for the wow factor.
Ok came up with the best way to make money you guys ever heard of. Team up with Technomancer devs, and create a VR game with a new version of the hoodie that can control spells in the new game, and then you play the game with the new hoodie. Figure it out!
Trusty Patches I know right? They already have sensors! The jacket is already $80-150... How much more would it cost to take the game engine, make a downloadable title they can sell, and bundle it with a special mode for the outfit! Blutooth adapters are almost nothing in cost.

I worry about a full featured VR AAA game because you probably won't sell millions of $200 jackets... But... I dunno, maybe something like what Final Fantasy XV is doing could work?

It is a bit challenging (as mentioned on the site) to do some of the spells initially, but if you watch this video and do it with it, you should be able to launch them no problem. After a bit of effort, finally managed to acquire the hoodie itself. And I am quite pleased with it though even for a small, it's still fairly large for my taste.
My God, that Raise The Dead sound effect is something else. I only wish the whispering before the moaning could have been a little longer/fuller. If the price drops down a little more, I'll definitely consider.
They plan a restock in a few weeks. Worth it. Mine arrived yesterday. It is a bit tricky to get some spells to work (it asks you to hold your hand in 45 degree angles)
I put up a first impressions vid and a vid of the hoodie in the dark. It's fantastic. It does take a little time to learn propermovements and placements. I love it. :D
ThinkGeek!! Could you please consider making a dueling version of these robes? So the spells are transmited by the caster and then received by the other robe, with mabye a healthmeter on the wrist!

My daughter and i both got one for Christmas and have been playing for hours and hours. We love it! Neither of us can yet do the colour casting yet, but we will work it out eventually. My daughter tends to go for the fireball and raising the dead. I tend to waterbend and warp the most. We thought it would be really cool if future hoodies could interact with each other (sence the presence of another technomancer), and even make it possible to battle each other. Could a new spell include shield?
Can you reprogram the accelerometre gestures or set the internal lighting to have a default "rest" mode in which the light is pulsing a specific colour throughout the hoodie?
hook up a bluetooth/wifi to the hoodie's sound and send the feed to your surround sound speakers, dim lights and give your friends a show they will never forget...
just got this for christmas. still optimistic, but its a little frustrating. i can do electric bolt and fireball with no issue, but i still have trouble with the others. especially raise dead and the water spell. idk if im not doing it right, or the sensor is bad
Anyone ever find a fix for the deadbox beep? I remember trying to get a hold of support for this product, it was all crickets, with the exception of one representative telling me the box doesn't make a beep. I held the box to the phone, turned it on, it did it's "bricked logicboard beep", and I was promptly hung up on. (Edit: I forgot, I did manage to return my product twice for a new one, and all versions bricked.)
I still have one of these but I can never get the spells to work consistently and I wish that it had a function to just be lit up without casting spells if I want to sit there glowing ominously while Dming or something haha. Overall I'm glad I got one while they were available but I got mine on sale and I would have been annoyed if I paid full price because I've never been able to consistently get spells to work. Not sure if the motion chip in mine is defective or I'm just an idiot but I've spent too much time standing around waving my arms in different patterns with absolutely nothing happening...
Thank god I'm an adult, now I can afford an expensive magical hoodie so I can run around acting like I'm blasting my friends. Yay maturity! Just placed my order and payed for the fancy shipping. Should get it in about 3-5 days including processing time. Can't wait;I'll leave a review on ThinkGeek and on here.

Try moving the wrist sensor around on your wrist. It works with your posture and not everyone has the same Anatomy. Hopefully this works for you.
