I don't close my eyes, I tilt my head back so when I'm lining my eyes they're kind of half closed which also flattens my lids a little also. I don't know if that will work for you, but that's what works for me! :)
I once did the most perfect winged eyeliner I only one eye, and I tried in the other eye and failed several times so put my bangs in the other half of my face so nobody could see the mess i did 😂

I can't put on liquid eyeliner because I naturally have really long eyelashes, so whenever I try to apply it, the tip of the pencil/brush/pen can't get past my eyelash, making me flinch every time and then the eyeliner smudges and it goes all over my eye! Even though it's lovely to have long eyelashes, I wish I could wear eyeliner!! If you have any advice, please comment below :) xx

Remember people. practice makes perfect. Make-up is meant to be something that is fun. Do it whenever you want. It doesn't have to be completely and utterly perfect. So do something that you like. But I find if you are really having trouble then use pencil first till you get the hang of things. It's actually pretty easy when you get the hang of things.
they are! I bought a pack at my local drug store a few months ago. Not only were they too big for my eyes, but they felt uncomfortable. And i dont have small eyes...regular false lashes fit me just fine and i dont have to cut them down. And one you have falsies on you cant feel them..i felt these for an hour and a half and then i gave up and took them off

mad4makeup What I can suggest is probably starting off by dotting the end of each eye where you want the eye liner to end, thats what I usually do, I can't guarentee it turns out perfect but it gives you a guideline atleast! but im still in search of other methods to get it perfect lol Cx

I think it's actually all the contrary. As people age, they lose the natural definition that they have (eye sockets, lips, the works). If it's done tastefully, a smokey eye will look fantastic on anyone.

It's a lot easier to work with because its much thicker so if you make a mistake you can hide it better. And I've heard that a good trick for hooded eyes is to only line the outer half of the lid : )

I find that cat eyes actually look great on everyone, maybe try using a very thin line and no lining the bottom, but lining the waterline with white? Just an idea idk cx I just love when girls wear cat eyes X3

That doesn't have to do with eyelash thickness I don't think. But hey, if they're thick, it's nothing to complain about. You could try tightlining, or filling in the spaces individually.

curl your eyelashes DOWNWARD before you do anything. It might be a little hard to see out of your eye while lining, but that's what your other one is there for! And after, remember to curl them back up. 😄 Good luck!

If your eyes are small then don't line the bottom lid! When I was first starting out with makeup I had the same problem, but now i'm quite good. The tricks I use to get my eyes to appear bigger are cat eyes with false eyelashes and maybe lining the bottom lid with white liner or eye shadow. Also applying white eye shadow to the inner corner of your eyes can make them appear larger.
I have very small eyes and very round cheeks so my eyes disappear if I use eyeliner on my bottom lash line or water line. Just stick to a thin line on top :)

I never thought about it as being like an isosceles triangle! This really helped, thank you! I'm really crap with it, so this should help.
If you wanna get technical though, it's really a scalene (all the lengths of the sides are different)

If you don't want the smokey eye to be too dark you could totally use different shades of grays instead of black to make it less intense!

Just line the end of your eye lid :) that's what I do my eyes are too small... Don't line the whole lash line just the end and flick up for cat eye :)

i have the same problem. i just push my lids up with my finger and just fill in. done.

What i do is pull the corner of my eyes, so my eyes are almost closed so my eye lashes just pull down
i feel like the only person on the planet who never had a single problem doing liquid liner- very lucky for that, though! best wishes to everyone trying to perfect their's

my eyes are small so i can't use eyeliner. it doesn't fit me :(
If your eyes are small then don't line the bottom lid! When I was first starting out with makeup I had the same problem, but now i'm quite good. The tricks I use to get my eyes to appear bigger are cat eyes with false eyelashes and maybe lining the bottom lid with white liner or eye shadow. Also applying white eye shadow to the inner corner of your eyes can make them appear larger.

I have very small eyes and very round cheeks so my eyes disappear if I use eyeliner on my bottom lash line or water line. Just stick to a thin line on top :)
Or you can line the water line on the top eyelid I have to because my eyes are also small
Just line the end of your lash line rather than your whole lash line :)
