Leon continues to be one of the best players to spectate. WP Axiom, I think even DK would have died to most of those conversions but Bowser is built different.
Basically, Leon played the mu, and took full advantage of the fact that he had a good neutral, to the point that he really didn't need to play offensive at all really, and when he did whiff, a lot of the punishes were missed cause kazuya has to call out. Well played from both sides however, gg
@@ohcomeon1111 tbh, even his wavedash is a huge commitment. Kazuya has to run in and the opponent can simply position away, or d tilt/ side tilt. Or if there's no immediate punish, the opponent can jump around Kazyua and gain stage control.
@@dogyX3 yeah but it's fast and he can go back and forth with it. If you miss hes getting a huge punish. It's the most important thing you need to do with him besides knowing the combos
Mmmm nothing more delicious to put on a Bowser victory than some Axiom salt. His constant head tilts and wide-eyed "are you kidding me" were almost more entertaining than the match itself
Tough guy with high mobility vs tough guy with a fast moveset: disadvantage is terrible on both sides. Kazuya can't fully exploit Bowser's weakest point, bc his edgeguarding is limited. Bowser's can easily pin Kazuya in disadvantage with quick juggles and practically-guaranteed ledgetrapping. With Bowser winning neutral and Kazuya's punish game not being a guaranteed stock here, it seems that the final decisive factor is Bowser outranging Kazuya.
Came here to say this. The dude just sat there and let himself get hit over and over. I thought I was missing something when the commentator kept saying that, but apparently I know the game more than they do lmao. But yeah, Leon misses every 2 frame with the f tilt. He goes for it every match he's in and always misses it, but this Kazuya just sits at ledge and does nothing, so Leon throws it out a second time and takes the stock. Exact same thing happened like 3 times.
Kinda hate the power creep that comes along new character releases. Bowser feels outdated . Like.. feels sad to see you add characters to the roster who can invalidate older ones.. at least they should buff the old cast if they were adding Fighter pass 2
Yeah Kaz is a horrible matchup for Kaz. Kaz has marginally more damage output with a scary blender and is quicker, but Bowser in many ways is superior to Kazuya. Even the tough guy on Bowser is stronger - usual Kaz stuff that would kill at early percentages gets ignored with Bowser weight - Bowser gets big damage as well so Kazuya is at the disadvantage in trades. - Bowser wins out in range so in neutral - Kazuya Rage is a non factor since bowser can kill pretty quick - Bowser flame breathe and spinning shell are terrible tools for Kaz to deal with. As we saw multiple times flame breathe makes Kazuya recovery off stage difficult and spinning shell shuts out Kaz approach multiple times to start his EWGF blender raw or even land a throw.
If you’re the Kazuya here, you need to retire and never play smash again. Not saying I could do better. But if I ever had a lead like that and lost at any game, I’d probably never play it again
love this match up, so explosive and both these characters are so cool
Hey it’s you! Sephiroth and Kazuya are my 2 favs right now. This is definitely a matchup where both cheat!
Love the videos and clips bro. Don’t know what your scene is like but locals for the one time?
As a kazuya main i agree! This mu is so intense cause both are so volatile!
Nice to see a new Bowser match up. Leon hasn't been facing many Kazuyas.
As a Bowser Main this is one of my favorite matchups. If both players are good the matchup is explosive.
Oh snap a heavy fight

axiom needs to be better with kazuya movement. a good kazuya is constantly wave dashing or whatever they call it with him

Platform play w/ Kazuya is hard af only Riddles seems to be on top of it
Yeah I noticed that too. Riddles’ play style too feels a lot faster.
ferps tech, as he demonstrated throughout pound 2022

Riddles said in a video that even with ferps tech that platform makes it a 50/50.

But Kazuya does have some tools to benefit from those Bowser's habits, so it could have been more equal

True. And it's shorter the higher % you have
