I post this video to my FB every year at father's day. It is one of the most genuine, silky , smooth and warm father/son songs I've ever heard. I think this is my 5th or 6th year, maybe more. It reminds me of what I think my Dad would say to me if he was still alive…but embraced from a daughter's perspective.

"The best" is subjective. There are A LOT of good bands and artists that came from the Netherlands. Some of them one hit wonders and some of them were in it for the long run. I'm pretty sure that you weren't aware that some of them were even Dutch. Just do the research lol.
Hey there all... still a very good and great song! Two months ago my 25 year old son gave me (as a birthdaypresent) the task to do this song together with him. Last week we both started it in singinglessons at our local singingschool here in our small town called Wormer (the Netherlands)
The way he is singing it (without any singinglessons) gives me goosebumps.

My dad I was introduced to this song when he was at his late stage of illness. It was the only time I had ever seen him with a tear in his eye. It because our song and we sang it together in the best harmonies we could. It made us closer than ever. I play this every year now on the anniversary of his passing. I just wanted to say thank you. 🙏

I first time I heard this song I cried first cause I miss the hell out of my dad who has been gone for awhile and second because of the gratitude I have for being friends with my grown sons. Thank you for sharing your gifts with the world it's a better place because of you.
I've been listening to and singing along with this song for ages. My dad died in 2004 when i was six years old. the message of gratitude and appreciation between father and son that this song makes me feel helped me immensely to know and truly feel what my father would've wanted to be for me and what I would've liked to be for him. It's made me feel like dad was there for me, in spirit, loving me and wishing me the world.

I played this song to my father after a lot of trepidation and a genuine fear of his reaction a little while ago... I saw a tear roll down his cheek as we sat together and listened. Somehow, a simple song united us and that memory will always stay with me. He died last month after a lifetime of illness. I love you dad. (A soul like me). Thank you Alain and your dad for doing something extraordinary. X
