The beauty of Barrie’s musicianship to me was always his highly inventive approach to the songs. He was orchestral in every sense of the word because many of those songs were pieces with not only dynamic changes but entire sections brought together to tell a story. TAAB, Back Door Angels, Baker Street Muse, Dark Ages, Etc. the list goes on and on. And Barrie never failed to delight, even when he laid out in a section. Cause when he came in, he raised the stakes dramatically. All these years later, I still can’t nail his parts to No Lullaby. Barlow is Rock Royalty!
Marco that was fabulous!!!! Fantastic work from all of you guys!!!!!! Celebrating a legend!!!!! Barriemore Barlow is one of the all-time great drummers!!!!
This is the best thing ever!! Maybe the average music fan no longer recognizes who Barrie Barlow is, but great drummers will *always* know his legendary and unique playing. It's so inspiring and moving to hear all the love and respect that these fine musicians have for Barrie.
Beautiful tribute!!! I didn't realize so many drummers hold Barrie Barlow in such high esteem - which is, of course, entirely deserved!! Happy B-day Mr. Barlow!
Barriemore Barlow my favorite drummer period since Thick as a Brick and every tour after with Tull. I am 64 years young a drummer and teacher and you have been an inspiration for me and my students A true original Happy Birthday

Well deserved birthday greetings. All the best to a drummmer who has delighted people so much around the world! One of the best ever - and my favourite❤
I've been a Tull fan since I bought "Thick As a Brick" when it was released in 1971. Yet, all that time, because I was so drawn to other elements of the music--the acoustic guitar, vocals, and lyrics--that I practically missed some the brilliant drum performances by Barrie Barlow. This video made me go back through my catalog of Tull greats and pay attention to the drums and there it was, almost like hearing it all for the first time, I'm ashamed to say. This was an awesome video!
We get to Martin Barre who plays certain Jethro Tull music snippets on his guitar and as a drummer, now try to imagine that you're hearing these parts for the 1st time. Imagine if you will, what drum parts you might try to incorporate into the total musical portrait being formed. Barriemore Barlow's contributions were nothing short of genius.
This was just ....fucking awesome.......Happy Birthday Barrie....no matter which birthday it is....Jim a fan from Cincinnati who saw you play live at FIVE...sold out shows..with Jethro Tull my all time favorite band..from 1975 thru 1979 at our Riverfront Coliseum, each show was magnificent and perfection. 14:48 .. Hunting Girl! .. Barriemore is such an awesome drummer, definitely one of my most influences, the live album "Breaking Out" is one I think every drummer should hear!
I grew up in a small English village, my brother had a mate who’s dad played the drums. In my 30s I discovered ‘rock’ music!! Never knew he was such a legend until I started to appreciate the music. From the brothers down the road, happy birthday.
