    I have heat exchangers at work and ihv been here for 4 years. This video still gave me more info than the 4 years of experience. Lol

    These are common on a lot of offshore equipment. Good video showing how the internal fluids pass through it, as you won't see this if you look at a real one.

    I've joined generating station recently and i was wondering how the heat exchanger was working. Thanks for the video.

    I used to clean these on my previous job, all it takes is a rough bristle brush, water and a lot of strength since some of the build up are quite hard to get rid of, limescale if I remember correctly, though most dirt are just like moss build up. The rubber gaskets are applied with rugby when necessary

    Wow love these short type vids , if it's 2-5 min or 10(max), i think people including me can afford to watch your videos everyday, if topic is lengthy, you can try breaking them down into series of short vids. Lengthy education videos will not be watched fully as most people slack off, on the other hand , even complete laymen watch shorter one's as they get to understand this stuff without feeling tired.

    Have you done air-to-air (HRV) heat exchangers?
    I don't see it in your list of videos.

    Applications requiring up to 20 tons will use a brazed plate heat exchanger. Also the riffles on the plates are designed to force a scouring action and minimize mineral deposits from water.

    • @davidbesant
      @davidbesant ปีที่แล้ว

      20 tonnes of what exactly?. In any case, the ripples are there to create turbulent flow which breaks down the boundary layer to increase the rate of heat exchange.

    • @timothycampbell8053
      @timothycampbell8053 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidbesant 20 tons is a btu/hour rating and seeing as how the information I just mentioned comes directly from GEA flatplate, I’d say it’s correct.

    When one of the fluids is water and the other is a refrigerant, they are very very prone to leaking.

    • @1991elliot
      @1991elliot ปีที่แล้ว

      In that case you'd use a brazed plate
