  • Still soft ground conditions but some animals are out! It felt like a really long winter this time but looking in the diary it was about average for us.
We bought a newish tanker ready for spreading slurry once the first cut is off.
first cut is looking like it'll be in two half's this year with the rye grass nearly ready to cut and all the other stuff still a couple weeks off.
The new N175 is on the mower!

Great video as always, liked the mag via doseatron, great idea. If you had a second ibc and tap and ball valve in each you could switch between tanks and always have one filling up ready for next time.

Great idea! That's what I like about these videos. Getting tips from other farmers

So interesting to see all of your work on the farms. Video is brilliant . How do you control the invasive growth( docks) on the organic farm?

I find the only proper way to get rid of do ocks organically is to plough them up

Best of luck with the barley/peas and grass mix. Do you bale or pit it? I was thinking of doing the same and baling but fearful of the long tail visitors it may attract. Any thoughts/experience

Baked it last year but feed it straight away due to the dry weather but hope to clamp it this year. Hopefully a bulky cut to fill the clamp up 🤞

How many miles is it between the farms and is having an organic farm not too much hassle?

Organic has been great over the last 5 years. Has gone a bit stail now but two early to chuck in I think. 3 miles apart

How many cows do you milk between the two farms and who do you ship your milk to
