Great phone. The Microsoft Launcher will show badges on app icons. I use Nova launcher usually, I'm trying the system launcher again after the latest upgrade, though. Microsoft SwiftKey supports split keyboard and AI chat is handy, using the cubed red theme. I use Shader Editor as dynamic wallpaper with a customized glsl shader. 120W charging is nuts, just watch the percentage on your battery go up before your very eyes. The bedside clock when you prop it up partially unfolded is nice, simple. A+ vibrant screens, mostly hidden fold. Best foldable supporting the apps I need (google, etc). Thanks for the fun videos!
Great review. However , I wish reviewers would go more into the specs / usage of the inner large screen camera for video chatting. I think the inner large screen size / camera quality spec is another perk for these type of phones for consideration of buying.
The only "downside" I personally have with my x fold 2 is the camera on the unfolded screen... No, no I don't mean it's quality 😅. I had the Huawei mate xs before and it had no camera when unfolded. So my personal problem is : many apps don't "care" about the "punch hole" camera and the picture you get is just smaler than on a Huawei mate xs for example. I was almost buying the xiaomi fold 2, because it has no camera on the unfolded screen.. But I love the 120 watt loading of the vivo... So I will have to be OK with the smaler screen...
Just got new updates to Origin OS which gives the X Fold all the multitasking/dock goodness as the X Fold 2 so I'm good. Let's see if the X Fold 3 reduce weight further.
Very nice review. I need to do what you're doing. I've had so many of these devices. Battery life on this thing is huge. I kid you not, best we've ever had was over 8 hours at the 50% left mark! 60Hz though. Light to moderate use like most people do. And if you use manual brightness to a certain level, the big screen is more efficient than the small screen 😂 it's all about manual brightness
Still love my X Fold+ got periscope cam and IR blaster , just get new trial update too many new feature such as global taskbar like X Fold2. But my battery max percentage have been drop to 95% in 8 months, not sure how long this phone longlast but hopefully can go more than 3 years should be good enough.

I have a question, on my Huawei P30 Pro(Chinese model) … which is dual sim (I use the first sim slot for the country I reside and the other, my home country)… I can forward calls from my home country’s sim to the other and not pay roaming charge and receive calls for free ….can you try it on the fold 2
Trying to find some information on a problem I'm having. My VXF2 is displaying 2 different battery levels between the single screen and folded. No amount of restarts is fixing and currently running the upto date OS. Anyone else seen this?
What are the drawbacks of the vivo ? By that I mean does it have water resistance and wireless charging like the fold 4 does ? Just trying to get a balanced view of this device
So yes and no, turns out with latest updates almost any Google app from the okay store will split screen normally. But not with 3rd party apps. So I use revanced and it won't but if I use regular TH-cam I can split it with like chrome, Gmail, etc. However I just make a floating in window using new pipe
Mike, you misunderstood me haha. I don't need a floating notification for WhatsApp like messenger is with the bubble. I literally just want the rectangle box that gives a message preview at the top middle that pops up and then disappears after a few seconds. I can't even get that :(
@@AverageDadOfficial AppGallery have a old versions of Google apps. TH-cam is 17.48 instead of the actual ver 18.5. No Gmail, no Gboard. Gbox is working, but not all gapps are supported or available.

I have the phone for 2 weeks as well, I'd like to add my experience as well, having owned the previous x fold, Xiaomi mix fold 2 Oppo find n2 all the Samsung foldables and Huawei mate X2 ( Wich i loved, that even had 10x periscope camera, so i have some experience on foldables. When the first vivo x fold came in last year it was the best foldable yet in my opinion, software and hardware wise, now the competition is getting stiffer and since this actually have a coupe of features missing from the previous, fon now is still the best because is the only one with the new snapdragon chip, with does make a difference. Camera wise there is a not huge but noticeable improvement in the main sensor, being slightly larger (it's the same of the x90 , Sony imx 866, and i think also the vivo V2 ISP chip does make a difference as the previous model didn't even had the V1 chip, the big issue is the lack of the 5x periscope camera, but I'm not mad at this because the sensor was tiny 1/4.4 a d then the periscope actually remove some light as well so it was not good in low light, what they should at least done is put a 3x in the same larger sensor of the 2k and make it optically stabilized as this 2k witch it has is not so is only good for portrait, I'm not mad about the ir blaster, even if sometimes can be useful, but I'm mad about the haptics with are no good, it still uses the mini circular vibrator, for me good haptics implemented good with the UI improve a lot the perception of quality. Software wise it has some improvement, especially the possibility to split TH-cam vertically with is almost a deal breaker, and also in uses flex mode even on the other display, the hinge itself is ok but not as solid as an Oppo find n, but is fine. I live the fact that they allow you to get rid of most of the blootwere and origin is is a veri fast rom, Mitch faster than one UI so the performance is gaming phone like. As mentioned in the review here in Europe it work with every sim card, the only features missing from an international rom in android auto and Google pay via smartwatch. So the wrap it up I'm happy with my purcese, but the no periscope zoom or at least an ois 3x is a real let down... Hardware wise the new Huawei looks and feels better as is even slimmer, but last year chipset, only 4g and no google services, even if with apps like gbox you can kinda work around it but is to big of a compromise, if there was no ban on Huawei and they coul have let that phone having the snapdragon 8 gen 2 and Google services it would be the better phone, but as of right now the vivo x fold 2 is the best, the new Samsung fold won't be better than this if you cannot stand the ridiculous outside display, so probably around august the Xiaomi mix fold 3 will be the best foldable, but this is just my opinion. Last couple of things that I forgot, is that the display is very bright, che charging speed is insane, and the mute switch is still a killer feature that every phone should have

@@hazemfive both, for the plus and the 2 red, i also had the non plus variant in blue thatni sold when the plus arrived, for me red looks the best but I haven't see all variants live bud just in photo, depend Wich color you like, i don't like the black version, the blunand Red depends on you color preferences and add this cool "Alcantara" look under the glass bar on the right of the camera, that gives a premium feel when you Handel it closed and i think also help with heath dissipation

Well i ended up getting it and almost everything works awesome. Ive had it for 3 weeks but only noticed after my wife complained that apparently im not getting calls. I can call out fine but if you call me it goes right to voicemail without DnD or airplane on. Also for some reason if i go to call certain phone lines like company help lines it says i cant call from China evenbthough im using an american sim card. Hate to say it but a phone still needs to be a phone even if i sont make many calls so i might be selling it

The weirdest thing was that the day I got it I tested everything, including calling myself from my wife's phone, before connecting to Wi-Fi because of the basics didn't work then I was going to return it immediately but everything worked fine. Then I set the battery settings so that my notifications for specific apps worked and it was all golden. Then suddenly they just seemed to stop after a couple weeks. Even with the battery settings and changing all the messages to priority instead of keeping the phone decide if it should allow them, half the time it doesn't show notifications until I open the messenger or app and they all come in at once. Like this reply lol, I didn't see any notification you replied until I physically came back and checked, then after looking it popped up
I been using almost 2 week and the battery life is fantastic much better than my Galaxy fold 3 unfortunately usb don't support video out 😢😢😢so i can't use my ar glasses

I'm thinking about trying this phone out. It looks way better than the galaxy fold series and I've checked the bands, if I'm reading it correctly it seems most of them are covered. Anyone know if this phone has voip or wifi calling where it boosts calls with wifi signal or whatever? I got the Microsoft duo when it came out but it didn't support that so I couldn't make phone calls from inside my house, I had to go outside to get a stable signal and although I don't make tons of phone calls it still needs to work. It's still a phone after all lol
Interestingly Vivo hasn't reduced the price on the X Fold+ in China. It's the same price as the X Fold 2 with both starting at ￥8999.00 for the 256gb and ￥9999.00 for the 512gb version. By the sounds of it, with prices being equal you seem to prefer the X Fold 2, is that right? Wouldn't mind hearing your thoughts on the X Fold 2s compared to the Pixel Fold.
@@williamcarter8121 I just really want a good zoom lens. The X Fold 2 would've been in my hands already if it had come with one. I don't see them adding it for the Plus version though. Similarly, if the Mate X3 had Android it would be a good option. So for now it's the Pixel Fold and the original X Folds. Why is the X Fold+ better in your opinion?
If you want to review a very special phone, don't get the Pixel 7a, get yourself a Huawei P60Pro. You like Chinese phones, right ;-) I really don't care that much about the cameras on the X2 Fold (which are REALLY good by the way) because my second phone is this Huawei which has BY FAR the best cameras of any phone.
The Pixel 7a is more for a wider audience, nice to try and get other subs from elsewhere. the Huawei P60 Pro will be bought this week... just for you :-)
@@AverageDadOfficial what a star you are! You will be amazed by the cameras. Not having google services natively is a pain but with G-Box it's bearable. I sold my S23 ultra when I saw the pictures. X Fold2 is my business phone, p60pro is my camera. Best of both worlds

No eater resistance but 50W wireless charging.... there is no real comparison... the Samsung is £500 more expensive and lightyears behind the VIVO.

Interestingly Vivo hasn't reduced the price on the X Fold+ in China. It's the same price as the X Fold 2 with both starting at ￥8999.00 for the 256gb and ￥9999.00 for the 512gb version. By the sounds of it, with prices being equal you seem to prefer the X Fold 2, is that right?
Wouldn't mind hearing your thoughts on the X Fold 2s compared to the Pixel Fold.
GENERALLY, The X FOLD PLUS is better than the 2. Try and wait on the X FOLD 2 PLUS
@@williamcarter8121 I just really want a good zoom lens. The X Fold 2 would've been in my hands already if it had come with one. I don't see them adding it for the Plus version though. Similarly, if the Mate X3 had Android it would be a good option.
So for now it's the Pixel Fold and the original X Folds.

If you want to review a very special phone, don't get the Pixel 7a, get yourself a Huawei P60Pro. You like Chinese phones, right ;-) I really don't care that much about the cameras on the X2 Fold (which are REALLY good by the way) because my second phone is this Huawei which has BY FAR the best cameras of any phone.
The Pixel 7a is more for a wider audience, nice to try and get other subs from elsewhere. the Huawei P60 Pro will be bought this week... just for you :-)
@@AverageDadOfficial what a star you are! You will be amazed by the cameras. Not having google services natively is a pain but with G-Box it's bearable. I sold my S23 ultra when I saw the pictures. X Fold2 is my business phone, p60pro is my camera. Best of both worlds
