"Some other woman crying to her mother 'cause she turned and I was gone" - and while I accept that these are progressive times, the whole vagrant, itinerant lifestyle of back-packing and wandering is still much more associated with young men than women. Any young woman following those paths should expect a whole lot of unwanted sexual attention.
