This would make Glenn Campbell, so happy , my brother brought his friend from college & he taught me to play this , I was in 7th grade , I'm 70 years old now , thank you so much , moe
Can’t forget ol’ John Hartford, he surely would have loved her version too. I enjoyed the memory you shared. What instrument did you learn to play this song on, Moe?
Somebody needs to give the Bass player some props. People don't realize how essential it is to have that clean, crisp beat laid down exactly 'in the pocket', and this woman is spot on. Kudos from a fellow Bass player! ...Oh yeah, and everyone else is kinda nice too lol. This is a great performance all round.
Saw John Hartford solo with just his banjo, fiddle and a sheet of plywood on which he tapped out the rhythm. He said he was grateful to Glen Campbell for all the royalties that allowed him to afford such an elaborate stage set.
Years ago I first became aware of john...I had obviously heard this song, but didnt know who John hartford was.... I bought a VHS banjo instructional taught by this cat named john hartford...in the pack with the VHS, was this paper foldout that you layed out on the floor...it was like a twister game for your feet only....didnt make no sense till I started watching the video...you could learn to tap out rhythm with john.....good times.....heaven became bonafide when john strolled thru those pearly gates....
Molly's music, playing, singing, and smile is what the world needs right now. Can't help but feel like there is still good in the world. What a beautiful talent. A true gift.
Sorry steam loco you don’t have to be the total Tommy Emanuel virtuoso to bring joy to the world and Molly does just that. As a guitarist of 50 years (I started late) I am in awe of Tommy but Molly brings me more simple joy.
Strong, clear, individual voice; amazing clawhammer fingers; winning smile; and I suspect a deep personality (personal strength from her life experience, just guessing here of course, but I sense it). She's the real deal.
It's not a Glen Campbell cover; it's a John Hartford cover. Glen Campbell recorded it and it became a big, big hit. John Hartford made a boatload of money, was forever grateful to Glen and he moved back to his native Applaciahia where he could record and sing the song he wanted to sing. RIP John!
+Steve Roberts Wow, I just saw your post, I didn't know John had passed, and 15 years ago! So sad, but his song lives on. God bless you, John Hartford.
A few folks have commented on the bass player. She is Missy Raines 8 International Bluegrass Music Award winner for Bass Player of the year. Of course the whole band and Molly sound awesome!
Ok. Let's see. Tommy Emmanuel. Then Tommy Emmanuel and Billy Strings. Then Billy Strings and Molly Tuttle. And finally Molly Tuttle. I love TH-cam ! Greatings from France.
Molly is her typical superb self in this, both with her as-usual perfect vocal (her relaxed feathery quality with a hint of vibrato is perfect to tell the story in this lyric), and that insane yet effortless picking puts her out in front of most artists today! They're all at the top of their game here. Missy Raines is in the pocket on bass. Wes Corbett is an impressive virtuoso on that banjo! John Mailander is just right, especially on his solo, keeping all the favorite classic parts of the fiddle in the Campbell recording. Well done, guys!
I’ve had this video stored on my phone all these years and this is one of the best renditions I’ve heard, I have played it so many times. Molly is absolutely amazing as are the other members of the group. I’m an old guy, 74. And a huge Glen Campbell fan since high school.
Magic Molly........just magnificent.......what great musicians.....to you 105 thumbs down egotists......you have no souls......hope you find them soon...........thanks Molly......🇦🇺
How can anyone not like (31) this performance? It is a simply an outstanding interpretation of John Hartford's timeless contribution to our musical heritage.
Jim Whitted Molly is a unbelievable talent, but this is one song she butchered. It doesn’t change how talented she is, or how I feel about her. When she has a concert in my neck of the woods, I will be there.
Well, all her pronounciations intonations inclanations are precise, charming just like a baby girl to her father - meanwhile like a disciplined lover woman playing the guitar..Simple Melting my hearth! :)
Just discovered Molly a couple of minutes ago, sittig here with tears in my eyes, enjoying this beatuful music, flattering my soul, being so happy that young artists, can play this kinda music so beautifully. Thank so much you for this enjoyment, you defenitely touched my heart. Great.
A very nice ensemble, fronted by the amazing Ms. Tuttle who grew up less than 20 miles from where I sit writing this. I gotta say the immensely talented and dedicated crop of young artists devoting themselves to acoustic music of all kinds is a bright spot in an often tumultuous world.
I've listen this song a lot when i traveled to London, and now every time i listen to it, it makes me remember my beautiful travel. Its such a great performance. If you see this, keep on Molly !
Holy smokes. This is such a tight beautiful rendition of a great, great song. Molly Tuttle has a clean and clear voice and really excellent musicianship all around. I bet I've watched this 15 times in the last week. Damn what a good song!
Just recently started listening to Molly and I'm really enjoying her style and sound. She's got great chops on guitar, banjo as well as vocally. I hope her career really takes off, because I think she deserves it
Molly nailed this timeless classic and the band was spot on! Molly's voice is like an angel on this beautiful song. Had the pleasure of meeting the songs writer "John Hartford" many years ago in Nashville one rainy afternoon at Gruhn's Guitars. Myself and 2 other guys got a private concert. What an interesting talent! We all visited over an hour or more and I learned John was from St. Louis same as me. A very memorable day!
I'm definitely not into Country music but Gentle on my mind is one of my favourite songs. Never heard anything about Molly Tuttle. But I like this version. nice voice, very good guitar playing. thumbs Up!
Molly does such a superb job on this John Hartford classic. While her guitar picking is perfection, as a singer and performer I'm amazed at her memory of all these lyrics that flow like water over steep falls - and, she obviously isn't reading off a teleprompter. Amazing!
So much of country music before it became pop music and catered to its audience was and is a nataunal treasure. Art has an integrity and power of its own that looses Itself in its condescending to the masses. As in everything we are just sits wonderous eyed observers and travelers and in its good faith its treasure provide.
I will admit I'm not the biggest fan of bluegrass. But this is still one of the greatest music videos on TH-cam for me.. so much melody, musicianship, and virtuosity in this rendition, it moves me to my core every time..
One of the best up and coming artists of the age I am certain and I am so glad I have been blessed to finally be aware of Molly Tuttle and her Sunshine Band. Thank You !!
I remember when Glen Campbell's version hit the airwaves in 1967. It was on Pop AM Radio continuously. Old time country stations were confused about Glen's style back then. Believe it or not, it took a bit of time for Glen to be accepted as Country!
Glen Campbell will forever in my heart will play this song right when he did it live. Along with the most amazing country solo in history. I'm happy this song is still going and that molly did a banging solo to it as well. Lovely to see a female guitarist making a big impact on the real country side of music. I just now got into her and hope this women has nothing bud success and happy years to come!
Am deeply impressed Molly. Some people say got to be listened always to this when America is in trouble...God bless your sensitive female respond to the deceased Glen Campbell! :)
My brother-in-law recently introduced me to your music. He,like me, was a wannabe, hobbyist musician. He had a real ear for talent but passed on 9-17-21 to brain cancer. Thanks for your work and know that those who have gone on before support you and your sincere message.
The song, Gentle On My Mind, June 19, 1967, sung by Glen Campbell and written by John Hartford, is often interpreted, but your interpretation is the best of all. Your voice fits in really well with the song. Thank you, that you share with such a beautiful voice, such a great song, with us all.
What a beautiful rendition of a great song! So many artists have covered it, all enjoyable, but this is as good as any I've heard. Lovely singing voice, and great playing from the whole group. Just awesome...
It's my humble belief this is the best song ever written. We owe so much to John Hartford and Glenn Campbell. Wonderful cover, Molly can sure play a mean guitar and mad props to the guys on the fiddle and banjo.
This song has helped me through 4 years of grief. Stuck in my head most days 😢 But beautiful, none the less. Rest in peace my son Conor 🙏
So sorry for your loss. Much love from Sweden.
Sincere condolences 💐💙
I am so so sorry for your loss.
Peace to you and your family.
I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. Hope you and your family are ok💕
Molly is 22 y.o. in this great clip, showing great presence and maturity. Brilliant guitar work. Love it.
+choirboysadist ropenflogger That is the indomitable Missy Raines.
+choirboysadist ropenflogger The great, and solid as ever, Missy Raines.
+hapwichryk Thanks!
+Kevin L. Thanks!
I will give Misty Rained her props anyday
Saw John Hartford solo with just his banjo, fiddle and a sheet of plywood on which he tapped out the rhythm. He said he was grateful to Glen Campbell for all the royalties that allowed him to afford such an elaborate stage set.

Molly's music, playing, singing, and smile is what the world needs right now. Can't help but feel like there is still good in the world. What a beautiful talent. A true gift.
Her flat picking is good, but she was completely destroyed by Tommy Emmanuel in another video. Everything is relative.
Sorry steam loco you don’t have to be the total Tommy Emanuel virtuoso to bring joy to the world and Molly does just that. As a guitarist of 50 years (I started late) I am in awe of Tommy but Molly brings me more simple joy.
Just discovered Molly. She's great.
ditto
Thanks for posting she is awesome talent
I discovered her about 6 months ago. I'm so glad.
Strong, clear, individual voice; amazing clawhammer fingers; winning smile; and I suspect a deep personality (personal strength from her life experience, just guessing here of course, but I sense it). She's the real deal.
Could not agree more, clearly a consummate live performer , now waiting for a London / UK gig
That's Missy Raines on bass! She's on top of her game for sure!!! I just love to hear her play with anyone ,especially MIss Molly! Good golly!!
Haven't listened to Molly in some time she's seems to have matured a bit...her voice is so gorgeous
Rolly Polly l
Appalachia? LOL....John Hartford (Harford) was born in New York City, and lived his childhood in St. Louis, Mo.
R.I.P. Glen Campbell
You can find Molly Tuttle and Tommy Emmanuel as well.
I heard that voice, looked at that sweet face, and I was instantly captivated. What an angel.
This is such a perfect performance .. by Molly for sure, but also every instrumentalist !! It is just fabulous. Brilliant!!
Molly is one of the best guitar pickers I have seen in recent years. She has a lovely voice and to top it off her smile is so sweet.
Check out Billy Strings
Every now and then an artist comes along that stops you in your tracks. This is undiluted greatness.
Voice as pure as it gets and throw in she’s top 5 as far as guitar pickers in my book.Pretty special young lady.
HOLY CRAP killer music.
That smile when she gets that first reaction from the audience is priceless.
Molly Tuttle incredible talent I been watching her and AJ Lee and company..
Greetings from Ireland
You are the future. ..
Kerry Evans I'm
Molly Tuttle, ladies and gentlemen. MOLLY TUTTLE!!!!!!!!!
I’ve had this video stored on my phone all these years and this is one of the best renditions I’ve heard, I have played it so many times. Molly is absolutely amazing as are the other members of the group. I’m an old guy, 74. And a huge Glen Campbell fan since high school.
John Hartford is smiling down on this, and he's really proud. What great pickers. Thanks for being around.
The OLDIES JUST SEEM TO GET BETTER AND BETTER DAY BY DAY !
THANKS FOR SHARING MUSIC AND DELIGHTFUL MOTION EXPERIENCE !
Magic Molly........just magnificent.......what great musicians.....to you 105 thumbs down egotists......you have no souls......hope you find them soon...........thanks Molly......🇦🇺
This girl is one of the best guitarist in my opinion! I love her alternate picking technique! 🎸
That bass player is amazing!
That looks like the great Missy Raines,
Thanks! Man, she knows how to work that bass!
missy Raines , I think
She's fantastic.
How can anyone not like (31) this performance? It is a simply an outstanding interpretation of John Hartford's timeless contribution to our musical heritage.
The best version of this song I've ever heard...
Have you heard the Petersen’s?
Listen to the Band Perry's version , you'll change your mind.
@@zaneturner4478 I will check that out
The lady on the bass is on the same level as the other musicians in this performance: Top of the top. What a wonderful piece of music!
This isn’t gentle on my mind, it is racing through my mind.
I thought... Did she start the song too fast. It should be a laid back song. We love Molly.
Jim Whitted Molly is a unbelievable talent, but this is one song she butchered. It doesn’t change how talented she is, or how I feel about her. When she has a concert in my neck of the woods, I will be there.
I love that she's always smiling as she sings and plays.
I love the way she pronounces the word "memory" in full. Most other versions pronounce it as "mem'ry". Simply gorgeous cover.
That's her time at Berklee showing itself.
Well, all her pronounciations intonations inclanations are precise, charming just like a baby girl to her father - meanwhile like a disciplined lover woman playing the guitar..Simple Melting my hearth! :)
Every single instrument in this enchantment is stringed… which the exception of the voice, which is a divine manifestation.
I always wanted to ask Molly why she left the heavenly choir and came down here.
When you’re playing comforts people you’ve succeeded!✝️💕☮️🎸
John Hartford is smiling up in heaven every time he hears someone do a great cover of his songs.
It’ s even hard to memorize all those words of the song. Beautiful singing. Thanks all.
Missy's smile says everything. This is a superb performance.
Just discovered Molly a couple of minutes ago, sittig here with tears in my eyes, enjoying this beatuful music, flattering my soul, being so happy that young artists, can play this kinda music so beautifully. Thank so much you for this enjoyment, you defenitely touched my heart. Great.

I've listen this song a lot when i traveled to London, and now every time i listen to it, it makes me remember my beautiful travel. Its such a great performance. If you see this, keep on Molly !
Today is the very first time I ever heard Molly Tuttle sing this song. I had to hear it THREE TIMES because her voice was so angelic and smooth.
So pleased to see such an appreciative audience.
Somewhere, across the river, John is smiling.
John is probably piloting a Paddle Wheeler up and down the River with a guy named Sam Clemens.
I hope her career really takes off, because I think she deserves it
Oh wow! Molly Tuttle can play and sing! Fantastic! Just discovered her.

Glen would be proud!!

Wolf Simon good music is good music, regardless of genre . This is good music.
Wow! Molly sings with so much urgency and passion she knocks me out. Thanks!
Molly does such a superb job on this John Hartford classic. While her guitar picking is perfection, as a singer and performer I'm amazed at her memory of all these lyrics that flow like water over steep falls - and, she obviously isn't reading off a teleprompter. Amazing!
Biggest insult in the world to a singer is saying you wonder how they remember the lyrics Reading off a teleprompter? You understand nothing.
Molly has a sweet face with a smile and voice to match. The way she plays that guitar is like water flowing down a mountain stream.
This rendition gave me chills.
Why have I never heard of this talented young woman before?
Molly you are GREATE . Regards from New Zealand.

stunning stuff.. and the girl is beautiful singer 💐
I must admit I stumbled across this but I'm so glad I did , pure shining brilliance I do believe .
Doesn't matter HOW you got here! I'm grateful as hell for my lucky stumbles :)
She has genuine talent. Something rare in the entrainment industry these days. AKA actual talent.
Beautiful voice, excellent song, brilliant musicians. Anyone who doesn’t like this has something wrong with them. Thanks
Very well done Ladies and Gentlemen. John Hartford would be proud.
Dam speed and grace. Tears running from my eyes every time I hear this song.
How can there possibly be 70 people do not lot love this amazing, outstanding, rendition of this classic. Wonderful!
Chuck Fedler, because they have ears that are functional.
One of my favorite John Hartford songs
I love you Molly...from Chile a hug and I never tire of saying that you are a beautiful angel..
Missy Raines holding it all down on Bass. Brilliant.
I remember when Glen Campbell's version hit the airwaves in 1967.
It was on Pop AM Radio continuously.
Old time country stations were confused about Glen's style back then.
Believe it or not, it took a bit of time for Glen to be accepted as Country!
That puts chills up my arms. The quality of this group is as good as it gets great song with a bluegrass twist.
Glen Campbell will forever in my heart will play this song right when he did it live. Along with the most amazing country solo in history. Love Molly and her music, what an American treasure. :)
Another winner, Glenn, another kindred spirit, thanks!
Molly owns this song. Thanks, John!💜
beautiful. crying now. thank you.
That bass player!!!!!!! Awesome!!!!!!!!!!
Billy Strings brought me here, and im more than happy to listen this
The song, Gentle On My Mind, June 19, 1967, sung by Glen Campbell and written by John Hartford, is often interpreted, but your interpretation is the best of all. Your voice fits in really well with the song.
Thank you, that you share with such a beautiful voice, such a great song, with us all.
Great version! Definitely my favorite.
Wow! She's fantastic! She makes it look so effortless...
AMAZING! thanks
Wonderful work by everyone present. Beautifully done.
The bass has beautiful tone and she's playing it really well and clean. The rest of the band is awesome too. Very nice and thank you for posting.
Missy Raines. One of the very best.
great performance, pocket is super solid, and a very nicely phrased banjo solo. Obviously Molly kills it.
mbsnyderc, she is great and so is Molly, love them all. This music is so "at peace".
Since we lost John and Glen, this is my new favorite of this great song! Thanks, Molly!
What a beautiful rendition of a great song! So many artists have covered it, all enjoyable, but this is as good as any I've heard. Lovely singing voice, and great playing from the whole group. Just awesome...
It's so great to see the musicians having as much fun as the audience.
I get goosebumps when I hear this. I missed seeing Glen Campbell at the Kent Stage (Kent, OH) on his last tour. Love all your stuff Molly!!!
Bass player absolutely killing it
It's my humble belief this is the best song ever written. We owe so much to John Hartford and Glenn Campbell. Wonderful cover, Molly can sure play a mean guitar and mad props to the guys on the fiddle and banjo.
Beautiful song and performance.
The voice of an angel.
This woman must really be an angel!
Molly, you are an Angel to my heart...
God bless you !!!
Beautiful. Could well be my favourite version of this song, which I've loved since the John Hartford original single came out. Thanks for this.
