The only places on a rail line that take time to replace are bridges and tunnels. Locomotives are good targets too but are easily removed when damaged. A rail road is dirt with layer of rock ballast and sleepers floating on top with rails attached. Rail segments and points can be replaced rapidly unfortunately so ideal is hitting fuel or ammo train on bridge or in tunnel. Like Ukraine did on kerch bridge. That damage has not been repaired and can't be so only light trains can use the bridge. It's difficult to get saboteurs that far into Muscovy though Ukraine did it once in far east.

That is true, regardless of your view of everything else. Escaping from North Korea is incredibly difficult. It is possible that more North Korean soldiers have already escaped from NK now than the twenty or so people that escaped from North Korea last year.

This reason is perhaps the main reason why support is dwindling in America. Ukraine's youngest soldiers are 25 and they still refuse to lower it to 18, recall their citizens, or hold a draft. How are Americans supposed to support them if they won't support themselves. That's what it's starting to look like to us.
@@RustyShackleford-s2o Then Americans should possibly consider why Zelensky is doing this. He is thinking not just of the the present but of the future too. Zelensky, this year dropped the age from 27 to 24 for draft purposes. He wants his young people to have experienced something of living before they run the risk of dying, he wants them to complete their education so Ukraine has an educated generation to look forward to running their country if and when this horror finishes. He wants youngsters to meet, marry and breed another generation before getting killed or maimed fighting for today. He knows a nation is not just a balance sheet or a GDP but the sum product of his people and wants to ensure there is a generation to grow and emerge to ensure Ukraine can fight its way to what we in the west just take for granted - our freedoms! Perhaps I’ve missed something, but how is the loss of 6 officers, out of the 1500 troops NK has sent thus far, a staggering loss? I’m not a fan of Putin, but click bait titles do not help Ukraine’s case.
It depends. Those six officers could have been instrumental in communicating with and commanding Korean troops. How many Russians you figure speak fluent Korean?
@@davidwood2205: presumably they have access to Google translate. So maybe it’s not a huge issue. In any event, it wasn’t mentioned anywhere in the video how the loss of six officers out of 1500 or so North Koreans already there was a staggering loss. That seems like Clickbait.
Respectfully, General Hodges forgets that the majority of NATO members never met their 2% defense requirement. Trump pointed that out and finally NATO gets it. Now, for the Generals worst nightmare, Trump has a real possibility of returning to the WH. NATO needs to have a contigency plan for that.
As of July 2024 out of the thirty-two NATO allies, twenty-three now meet the 2 percent target, up from just six countries in 2021. In total, NATO countries now meet the 2 percent target, together spending 2.71 percent of their GDP on defense. Poland stands out as the biggest allocating 4.12 percent of its GDP to defense., Estonia is 3.43 % both higher than the US at 3.83%.
General Hodges didn’t forget. Trump amplified the “2% defense level”, which was never a requirement. He identified that the EU could do more, but, for all its stature, NATO does not actually have a standing military. Each country has their own. It’s a defensive alliance. Each country had a choice of how much to obligate, including the US. Our lawmakers chose to meet the obligation, but no one was twisting their arms to do so. And currently? The EU surpasses the US in overall aid to Ukraine (military and humanitarian).
The Ukraine war is not a NATO problem, or an American problem, it's a EU problem... Should the US help? I think so, but not with cold hard cash, that should be left up to the European countries on how they would like to prop up Zelensky and Ukraine. They also need to stop being so timid with Putin.
So why is it an EU problem, is Ukraine a member of the EU now? And what about all those times Ukraine helped NATO? Afghanistan, Kosovo, Iraq - Ukraine was there.
The US and Britain made promises of security if Russia ever tried to invade if Ukraine gave up their nukes when Ukraine was #3 nuclear power in the world and now are letting them down applying restrictions in favor of Russia
The vast majority of aid sent to Ukraine has not been "cold hard cash", it's been decades old obsolete artillery awaiting disposal. The US and UK are obligated by the Budapest Memorandum of 1994 when they strong armed Ukraine into giving their entire military arsenal, including their nuclear weapons, to Russia in exchange for "security guarantees."

Just a thought. From Kim the Great's perspective, are high losses a plus, a feature and not a bug? High losses equals less mouths to feed. The army ain't doing much anyway, I am trading lives for political influence, technology, weapons and commodities. That sounds like a good trade to me ...

@@christopherhines2718 yeah all videos online are real check. how are they defecting when 10, 000 of them flew into the same Russian air force base 1000kms inside of Russia
The way it works with soldiers is that they will bet on how many enemy combatants they will takeout, and if you add a new adversary, the stakes are much higher and so are the payouts, as a veteran I've been there and done that.
The North Koreans are entering a fight on the side of an army that has repeatedly shown poor coordination and logistics, and a reckless attitude towards unexperienced conscripts, throwing them again and again into suicidal advances without any concerns about the losses of lives. Communication and coordination between North Korean soldiers and Russians will be as poor as it can be, considering the huge language gaps, and differences in equipment, command and training patterns. Most likely Russian officers will sacrifice North Korean soldiers gratuitously in any opportunity where they can avoid sending Russians to the slaughter house. It can be expected that North Korean scarce ammunition and equipment will be stolen by the Russian soldiers at every opportunity they find. Most likely, the involvement of North Korean will be disastrous for them and the tyrant, a balloon full of gases, will realize his stupidity in listening to the toxic Putin and his evil arguments.

Agree, Ukraine needs to go all in and win this war draft 18 year olds and up. They keep dragging this out and risk losing.
What is so difficult to understand or appreciate about a leader who has one eye to the future wellbeing of his country and not just the next election cycle or tax year?
Whilts Tsar Putrid is busy trying to get as many of his young men killed or maimed as possible, Zelensky is doing exactly the opposite.
@RustyShackleford-s2o exactly
Perhaps I’ve missed something, but how is the loss of 6 officers, out of the 1500 troops NK has sent thus far, a staggering loss? I’m not a fan of Putin, but click bait titles do not help Ukraine’s case.
Folks that do not speak Russian and have no leader might struggle to be useful.
youtube is one big clickbait
Trump is an idiot. Please never quote his bullshit
As of July 2024 out of the thirty-two NATO allies, twenty-three now meet the 2 percent target, up from just six countries in 2021. In total, NATO countries now meet the 2 percent target, together spending 2.71 percent of their GDP on defense. Poland stands out as the biggest allocating 4.12 percent of its GDP to defense., Estonia is 3.43 % both higher than the US at 3.83%.
there was no need for him to inject his political viewpoints, wrong and ... tacky
They are pathetic wimps, militarily speaking. And the leaderships are even worse.
Stop trying to create division between the allies. Europe and America must stand together, or decline in solitude.
@@Ode-to-Odysseus Lol... Nobody is trying to "create a division" between Europe and America. Maybe I should have made myself a little clearer. I do not believe, that the US, has any business giving Ukraine COLD HARD CASH!!! Weapons YES!!! And, EVERYONE NEEDS TO STOP PUSSY FOOTING AROUND WITH PUTIN!!

I wonder how many will defect to “the enemy”?
I always enjoy hearing General Hodges take on the current events taking place in Ukraine.
Hodges has become a socialist / communist ! Very , very sad to see this happen !
You mean you like being lied to?
He speaks the hard truth and facts unlike the lying fake mainstream media
Just a thought. From Kim the Great's perspective, are high losses a plus, a feature and not a bug? High losses equals less mouths to feed. The army ain't doing much anyway, I am trading lives for political influence, technology, weapons and commodities. That sounds like a good trade to me ...
Hodges complains about Trump then reiterates Trump's message that the EU needs to do more.
Exactly. He never spoke up about NATO member doing more when he was a General. Just be quiet or you will never get to a think tank or the board of Boeing.
@@RidleyHolmes-sr2tw He is as full of crap as Jake Broe.
if trump was anything but a habitual liar, we could take his words at face value. You would have a point. However, since Trump continues to lie and make things up, anything he says can not be trusted.
@@Doo_Doo_Patrol Agreed. That MF lives in Ukrainian fantasy land even though he has never been there. Probably why he was pushed out of the military.
Is it a big deal to agree on some things and not on others? idolizing trump a bit?
This is one way of making North Korea's meager food supplies go further. Exporting starved personnel to be better fed in the service of a slightly different megalomaniac.
Ukraine reported just yesterday that they have NOT encountered a single NK soldier on the battlefield and that all known NK soldiers were still in training in Russia. Any interactions with NK soldiers like the reported defections are unconfirmed rumors
Anther deceptive headline, thumb down.
not true there is a video online of north koreans deserting their posts 18 of them
Correct. They are reportedly near Vladivostok in training to learn basic Russian, receive Russian unit training, and familiarize themselves with more modern Russian weapons. It could be spring by the time they could be ready except for perhaps a few battalions.
They were killed at a training camp in Zapirisha, I know that I spelled it wrong.
Exactly.
They went to Ukraine to get more modern fighting experience, but all they got was more dying experience.
Thank you, Sir!
My favorite news channel
The NK's must be hungry by the time the train takes them to the front.
I wonder if they are prepared for the mud and cold.
The West is the BEST
They weren’t being fed in their homeland anyways
Well presented and informative : It's always insightful having Retired General Hodges opinions that represents common sense and decency. THANKYOU FOR WHAT'S NEEDED TO BE SAID. GLORY TO UKRAINE!!!
Since N Korea is currently starving by the thousands the decision to send troops serves multi purposes. Their military gets fed first so sending thousands to Russia eases the food shortage and they don't care about loses. Their troops have zero combat experience so survivors will enhance their capabilities.
I hope South Korea somehow can get information to the North Korean soldiers about the real world outside NK and that their best option is to not fight and live in the free world.
Ben is my general.
😂😂😂
That explains it.
It's the problem with Catholic international prohibition against war against war
North Korea doesn’t want to fuck with the USA or South Korea. The US needs to form
An Alliance similar to NATO in the Indo Pacific region. The US, South Korea, Japan, The Phillipines, Australia, New Zealand would all be members. And Malaysia and Indonesia if they wanted to. Or we should expand the NATO alliance to these countries as well. Especially Japan, South Korea, Australia.
