I start every day searching for reactors who find Voiceplay for the first time. You did NOT disappoint. I am a fan of Voiceplay for several reasons. First, of course, is the musical talent. But Voiceplay has no label, no manager, they are funded primarily by by the patrons on Patreon and they do all the work themselves. Either the bass or the beatboxer does most of the arrangements, they pass it back and forth each month (mostly), They do every genre from country, pop, ballads, Broadway, hard rock, and some really silly stuff.
The arranger usually does the set design (even building the sets from time to time), costume and makeup design, most of the camera work, editing and first mix. They are amazing. When necessary they bring in choreographers, makeup and camera artists.
When the pandemic hit, they had to stop touring, previously they toured all over the world.
And, when Covid shut the world down, the bass, Geoff Castellucci, started doing solo work in addition to his work with Voiceplay. You will want to check his channel out, too.
Subscribed in anticipation of more Voiceplay and Geoff.

Home Fries and VoicePlayas are all intertwined. Home Free and VoicePlay have worked together, plus, we're on the Sing Off with each other... it's rare to find someone who is a fan of one and not the other.

I am not a big fan of a lot of country so I don’t listen to as much of Home Free’s work as I do VoicePlay’s . But I listen to a lot of their other work. Because they are such amazing artists, I try to always listen to their newest piece that they come out with because sometimes they surprised me and I’ve added a few of those country tunes to my playlists. 😊
I think the reason a lot of us are fans of both isn’t just that they are such great musicians. They’re both made up of such genuine people who clearly love what they do. I also love that they both have a great sense of humor and they’re not afraid to look a little crazy just entertain us. How can you not love that?

@@janetdw, kind of where I am with Home Free. Never been a big fan of country. Not pop country, anyway. I really don't listen to a lot of Home Free's country catalog, as a result. Ironically, though, I never cared for theater or anything in that vein, either; VP kind of converted me... but it's how they present it that allowed me to be a bit more flexible, in that regard.

What fans love about VoicePlay - their voices, their arrangements, and their versatility. They can cover songs in any gentre, from Disney to classical, and everything in between. And as for their theatricality, they are in a league of their own, making videos that are mini musicals. Welcome to the magic. And if you want more of Geoff Castellucci the bass, check out his own chennel of Low Bass covers. You won't be disappointed.

This is one of my very favorites. When I’m having a bad day I turn to this because I never don’t end up with a big smile on my face and my bad mood gone. My son listened to the newer boy bands and I only didn’t recognize one. Apparently he wasn’t a big fan of 98 Degrees 😆. All the older songs were the songs I grew up with. I was in seventh grade when the Beatles came out.
My favorites with the same lineup is their cover of Tennessee Whiskey. J, with the ponytail, hits another really high note in that one. The runs are fantastic. Also Elvis’s Can’t Help Falling in Love is another favorite of mine. Gorgeous harmonies.

A few suggestions: Survivor: Home Free vs VoicePlay for a little love for both groups, Just Sing (captions on are a must), Nothing Else Matters, Dragonborn Comes, Running Up That Hill, Enemy, Seven Nation Army, Golden Hour and they have a new one coming out today, grab a whole box of tissues though, it's a heart wrencher.

Welcome to the Voiceplay Rabbit Hole. Its a party all the way. And if this isn't enough Geoff (Jeff) the base singer has his own channel. To get an idea of his range I'll recommend I See Fire from the Hobbit 2nd movie.
Its always fun finding new reactors and watching them, your face said it all.
Now the introduction to who is who:
Eli (rhymes with jelly) - Bald Rock Tenor who also in does lighting and Sings in Korean during the BTS song
Layne - Beatboxer/vocal percussionist/Baritone he does about half the arrangements and co owns Patty Cake Productions were they film most of their movies. Its believed he is no longer human and has swallowed a drumset, a synthesizer, and an invaiding alien mother ship 🛸. Founding member of the group
Geoff - Bass Singer who can possibly reach beyond the depths of He11. He does the other half of the arrangements for Voiceplay. You'll hear pleanty about him, everyone loves him. Founding member of the group
Earl - High Tenor who looks like he should be a bass singer😊. He has since left the group for personal reasons. We all wish him well and miss him. Founding member of the group.
J None - Baritone, heartthrob. He is currently on loan to the US Navy 😉 or so we like to think. He comes back whenever he has leave and were hoping that when he finally finishes his tour he'll return full time
Members you'll run across who are not in this video.
Tony - tall dark and handsome Baritone who left to work behind the cameras and is still involved with the group. He is also the co owner of Patty Cake Productions with Layne.
Cesar de la Rosa - Sassy Angle Baratone and the newest member of the group. He's a great addition to the group and fit in from the start with Voiceplay "brand of dumb" 😊😅😂
They are still looking for their fifth member (aka J None 🤞) so they have a lot of Features
Hoped thus helps, they should be releasing their new song tomorrow 🎉

You need to find VoicePlay’s cover of Tennessee Whiskey. The two singers you commented on have large pieces of that one and they do some showing off.
Also re: your “that’s not right” comment on the beatboxer. Yeah. That’s Layne Stein. Not right is a pretty good description of him, lol.
As others said, this is an older one. They’ve really upped their game since.

Great reaction. But you need to speak a little louder. I could barely hear you. Or turn up your mike.
    Anyway...
Voiceplay is an amazing group with tons of fantastic videos to choose from. They are out of Orlando Florida. They all used to perform in shows at Disney World, Universal Studios or both.
They are known as both "The Theater Kids of Acapella" and "The Kings of Halloween" because of their love of dressing up and performing.
No matter the video the set clothes and props all go together in some way.
    I recommend....
In The Hall of The Mountain King.
    In The Air Tonight.
    Valhalla Calling.
Along with whatever everyone else suggests.
The black gentleman is J None. He left in 2021 to sing with the US Navy. He has 3 years left but comes back to sing with them when he can. He is presently in Washington state.
The bearded gentleman is Earl Elkins Jr. He is one of the founding members with Geoff and Layne from 1997. He left in 2020 for personal reasons.
    The present members are...
Geoff (Jeff) Castellucci - bass, arrangements.
Layne Stein - beatboxer, baritone, arrangements.
Eli (like jelly) Jacobson - tenor, rock tenor, lighting, design.
Cesar De La Rosa - baritone, tenor.
Geoff also has his own channel where he sings solo non Acapella. He clones himself 3-4 times for harmonies.
    For him I recommend....
    I See Fire.
    Ain't No Sunshine.
    Man of Constant Sorrow.
    And any everyone else suggests.
You can't go wrong with any you choose.
They do have a few live videos as well from when they toured and was on the Sing Off Acapella competition season 4 with Home Free. They became friends and still are.
Welcome to the Voiceplay rabbit hole 🐰

Perhaps it’s better you started with an earlier release. You get to ease into what these goofballs can do. Go ahead and choose anything they’ve posted - whatever appeals to you. Not only will their vocal talents amaze you, but you’ll soon learn that the amazing talent isn’t just singing. Geoff or Layne (and sometimes Eli) do their arrangements. Whoever does the arrangement usually is in charge of costumes, sets, direction and editing of the video. (They do use Ed Boyer for the final vocal edits.). Eli has become quite proficient at doing their lighting. Often, they do their video recording at Pattycake Studios, which is owned by Layne and Tony Wakim (their former baritone.). Since they are only under their own management -Geoff’s wife Kathy is both their office manager and production manager - they have complete control over their releases.
I think you’ll be amazed at their talent and creativity. I’ve subscribed in anticipation of seeing your journey.

If you think about how the girls reacted to them at the time (especially the beginning like the song they chose here) they really were. It took me thinking hard about the fan reactions to those earlier groups to realize that they really did fit. They just weren’t called it at the time.

@@robbielux8353 Yes, but that is simply because of the 'Boy Bands' you are thinking about. I, too had a hard time thinking of The Beatles, Jackson 5, The Temptations, etc. as Boy Bands, but realized that at the time the hysteria around them was just as real.
So, it depends on how one defines 'Boy Band" No one named them 'Boy Bands' back then mostly because most groups were made of guys. And yet female groups were however specified by gender. I see the description as speaking about the fan base more than the actual group members. I admit that I did not see it that way before I first saw this medley, so I can understand your objection.
