To me, not commenting on which is better but they were recorded at different levels. The VDJ sounded 'louder' to me, any defects were muted for Serato in comparison. Not a fair test. And you can tell the bias in the answers given ( for either ). I think answered the best with Dj Iris giving " but it's not finished " and kunta2000 replies with VDJ has an update. ( This is not an attack on anyone here, they make valid points ) So one got the working system out first but by the time the other brought out a competitor system, the first gave us an update.
virtual dj stems are very good when prepared compared to just playing the stems instantly, you just add a song on the stem folder and prepare, it will take some some time but its worth it
They sound the same because neither are actual stems. With these algorithms some partial frequencies are missing. The result is a vocal "track" that sounds like there's an effect being used.

Haha 2 years back serato cope up with virtual dj feature. Till date 2024 VDJ stems are the best and always will be no matter how much serato try to cope up

Keep in mind that serato's stems are still in beta stage
I believe that the Serato is a little bit more smoother than VDJ
