True to self was amazing too me I really feel like with true to self at least too me was an album you liked if you related to the messages of the songs when it came out like for example No Longer Friends as a song meant EVERYTHING too me cause I was going through that at the time along with relating to a lot of the messages on True to self as a whole

It’s the fact that neither beat this album at all and everyone has an expectation that isn’t met. IMO

He took that current resurgence of toxic r&b and blended it with the mainstream trap sound that was molding into what we know it as today, and created a record that so far has aged like wine to me.
